I phoned Appliances Direct who said the engineer would need to deliver and take away old cooker I was told the engineer would call me. He didn’t, I called him on 10 February. I was dealing with a contractor. They now had delivery from Appliances Direct but delivery and fitting can’t be done before 3 March if then!!!! Will never use this company again.

After purchasing the appliances I have a 20 minutes call with them and they didn’t mentioned that. I think it is an important thing to make clear to the person who is buying. I was waiting 3 hour for the delivery for them telling me that they cannot take the appliances to a second floor. So they take them back. Thank you

United Kingdom | 12 February 2025Faulty mobile phone, AD acknowledged the same and arranged collection for return via DPD. All good at that point. However, on tracking the return, ten days later it remains at the couriers hub. Advised AD accordingly, several calls and e,mails later they appear unable to ascertain why the item has not been delivered to them. Meanwhile the promised refund which I was told would be made by 9th February has not been processed. It would seem reasonable to suggest the courier has lost the item but AD seem reluctant to accept that position. Extremely disappointed by AD handing of the complaint and next step will be my bank. Update: Appreciate the reply, however no phone call or voicemail as your subsequent mail suggests. So no further forward.

United Kingdom | 12 February 2025I bought four items including two, a hob and an oven, that I chose to have installed by their partner. The combined cost was just short of £1,800. I was sent an email telling me I was a very important customer, nice. The reality was far from that. The fitted items were scheduled for delivery two weeks after I ordered, with the installation company. This date was set later because I had to investigate electrical installation. On the website, one of the non-installed items was listed for delivery one day after the order, the other the very next day. Great. What was never explained or clear, was that the two items that were not being installed, were inexplicably also scheduled by the company for delivery two weeks after with the installation company. This was for no good reason, other than convenience for appliances direct. On one of the items I had to also pay a delivery charge, despite being all delivered in one package. On calling the customer services team explained that it would not be possible to split the order and deliver the tumble drier and dehumidifier earlier. After much protest from me, they finally relented, told me it would very likely compromise the installation date and were very surly in doing so. In the end, the goods were delivered much later than I needed them. The oven install was also delivered much later because there was a query on the electrical installation for the oven, the information on appliance direct’s website didn’t help me to understand what I needed to schedule an earlier date for the installation. After much investigation, I discovered the information I needed on the ao.com website, explained really clearly and simply. I regret not having ordered from AO. I think I saved about £10 with appliances direct, but that cost me much time on the phone, fractious conversations that I could have done without and delays. Do yourself a favour and learn from my experience ….
