He came up with solutions and suggestions for us whilst attending to the original clients who he was dealing with when we just dropped in. Impressive and professional business.

United Kingdom | 16 January 2025Awful aftercare Whilst they're great at selling you a car, when it goes wrong expect to have to wait weeks before it can be seen, nobody answers the phone when you try to fine out what's going on. I can't wait to get rid of this car and get something more reliable.

United Kingdom | 16 January 2025To say its the worst experience Ive ever had looking to buy a car would be a understatement. Inexperienced sales people and no idea of the products they sell. Topped with almost misselling a car. We were looking to purchase a MG4, and following research we spotted a deal online a Richmond. My partner spoke to a salesmen told him what we were after and our budget and he indicated they could do something to help. We travelled down and test drove the MG4 all well. Then came the issues and problems. Firstly the deal on the website wasnt valid anymore, why was it still on the website as this is total misselling. The deal listed origonally as £259 PM and £259 Deposit for 6K miles was now £290 and £290 for 6K miles. We then asked a price for 10K miles. After much faffing around a speaking to.his manager, almost 15 minutes later the offer came back at £470 P/M and £470 deposit. £200 more a month than the 6K miles and way outside the budget my parnter made clear we had. More faffing and 4/5 negoiations later, the price miraculously dropped to £370 P/M, still well outside the price range we discussed origonally. However what if this was a old lady, theyd be totally taking advantage of them. We left the garage and thought nothing of it. During the course of the day the garage called us 5/6 more times offering deals. Clearly desperate for sales they offered old cars, increased the deposit to make monthly figures lower and dropping spec. Almost bordering on harrasing that day. We left it as none of these deals imrpoved the price. Despite on our first interaction my partner mentioning she was in the NHS the salemen failed to mention MG offer a Affinity Scheme, offering discount on new cars. Another garage instead told us about this a few days later. Despite the above, we wanted to purchase from a local garage and gave them a second chance. Taking this information to them. We sent over screenshots of some Affinity deals at other garages and after initally not being able to match the deal, by magic they were able to do a deal. A cancelled order meant they were able to offer us a car within our price range per month after speaking to his manager. Fantastic lets do a deal. We had a few questions we wanted clarifying first, simple questions such as service plans and car mats. The salesmen seemed to have no idea and took 2 days to reply and a few nudges, after constantly needing to speak to his manager. Whilst waiting for these answers, we were made aware by Eden MG and Waylands MG that Richmonds offer might be too good to be true and the APR rate they included on the deal was only for high deposit customers. Skeptical this was sales talk from other garages, we asked the salesmen at Richmond to confirm the APR listed was correct. Twice he confirmed this was. Great news lets pay the deposit. However 30 minutes later we recieved a phone call back to let us know that the other garages were indeed correct and that we couldnt have that rate. If we hadnt asked the question at which point during the sales process would this have been mentioned. After we paid a deposit, as the finance application happened or a few months down the line. We asked to speak to a manager but were told no one was avalible and but that someone would call us back the next morning. Well guess what no-one called back. Was it embarrsement or I cant be arsed. Reading other reviews this doesnt seem to be a one off. On top of this the product knowledge of the salesmen was awful. I know more from research online and its not my job. Even if a amazing offer were to come up in the future I would never purchase from this company and will be ensuring all my friends, family and clients at work are aware of this. In a customer facing job, customer service always come first and they lack any of this. I will be contacting MG and the motor ombisman to make sure no other customers are missold in the future

Unfortunately I ultimately went in a different direction, but this is simply due to my needs and not to do with Jag or the pretty car I was considering! My main point of contact was the sales adviser Piers, but he was constructively supported by two Sales Managers; Ricky and Adam, who with all of the regulatory governance nowadays, were approving key steps of the sales process. I requested an extended test drive, which was approved and I was able to show the car to my partner who lives some miles away. On my confirmation to Piers after her approval, I returned the car the next day to conclude the purchase paperwork and drive away!!))✅👍. The facilities at the dealership are first class for a waiting appointment; immaculate WC, drink machines and chairs to use and work with free WiFi. The Owner walked through speaking to numerous staff members as he collected something to eat and drink and return to his first floor office. One immediately had the impression that this was an Owner, who hired quality staff and let's them get on with their jobs. Well done Michael!!💯 I am new to living in the area and was most impressed with my first contact with Richmond Skoda and look forward to my business with them in the years to come.
