Bench has been great to work with. They helped us catch up on our taxes and were very easy to work with. Highly recommend!

I responded yes to a text message that unknowingly put me in a one year contract with their bookkeeping service. I would’ve expected them to make it more clear that I was signing a contract.

We've been using Bench for 2-3 years. Our current Bookkeeper Ramit K. is awesome. Very responsive, detail oriented and always follows up to questions in a timely manner. We are a smaller company and outsourcing bookkeeping has been life changing so we can focus on our core competencies. We'd love more granularity in data or have an API but still 100% satisfied with it's intended use. Highly recommended.

I personally would recommend against Bench entirely. Disorganized. Way to many people working on one persons account that you can get anything done not only efficiently but effectively. Imagine running a business and having 4 CEOs. You can’t ever accomplish anything because you have multiple decision makers that are not in sync. That’s what it feels like working with bench. Do your due diligence before joining if you do.

Bench has been working very well for us. We connected our corporate bank account and credit card account, and afterwards we have only been notified when a transaction needs labeling. For most transactions our support people have been able to use the transaction history to mark them. Response time is usually within a few hours. Highly recommend.

I started with Bench a few months ago and am less than impressed. My point of contact is very brief, doesn’t seem interested in my business and has not finished my books from two months ago. I find myself hesitant to approach her since her responses sound like she’s annoyed to hear from me.

Pat's patience and advice has really helped me feel comfortable with the accounting process. It's nice having an entire team working on something that used to make me frustrated to the point of tears. They've taken away the stress of trying to learn accounting while running a business. Bench's services and layout have helped me quickly show my financials for business loans and to help guide future finance decisions. I highly recommend this service.

As a small business owner, I've been super impressed with Bench and especially the Bench Retro Team, who helped my business with 2 years' worth of historical bookkeeping. I also have ongoing bookkeeping support. Having previously worked with less-than-stellar bookkeepers, my books were a total mess. The Bench Retro Team diligently worked through all my accounts and statements and made sense of it all. Best of all: I now have more insight into my finances than I've ever had before. I feel empowered to confidently make important decisions as I always have a Bench team member who can answer my questions. And believe me, I have many! Overall, everyone at Bench has been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely nice. Prior to Bench, I had some bad experiences with CPAs and bookkeepers being condescending to me -- with Bench, I feel heard and all my questions are answered. I'm treated like a valuable client, not just someone whose superpower isn't numbers and spreadsheets. And I no longer have anxiety as tax season inches closer because I know the Bench team has my back.

The Bench team was really great at onboarding me, making themselves available to my needs and working with me on scheduling and pricing. The process went so quickly, the bookkeepers were very speedy. The only thing is that I haven’t been very good at bookkeeping because I have a very limited understanding in this area. I would have appreciated a bit more handholding and support in terms of my own comprehension to truly understand the benefits of this work. I understand that this is not the job of a bookkeeper so perhaps a more educational component can be added into Bench services. Ultimately I’m very happy and grateful for the work!

Great service they make it so easy for my bookkeeping for my business

My experience working with Bench and their team has been nothing but pleasant. During the ups and downs and the information they're able to communicate is better than I've seen else where.

Dana was great to work with for my retro bookkeeping. I had an account that was difficult to manage and she made sure to communicate with me and bring someone in to be sure it was handled correctly. I really appreciate her hardwork!

Pros: people are nice and friendly and they generally care. Software integrations reduce the likelihood of human error Cons: 1. Any time there is an expense that isn't auto categorized they leave it as "needs categorization" from me. If they read the description they could easily guess the majority of the categories. 2. Always needs my review. The books don't tie with Stripe and our bank accountant. They made mistakes when they added their Stripe integration to modify historical years which broke current years and they don't check these things them selves. The only way to check and catch these are do to it yourself which is disappointing 3. They are slow to do the books. Each month there is a big delay even though our books are very simple (one revenue source, limited expenses) 4. For the few times we've urgently needed our books to be completed, they were unable to move fast and accommodate 5. They do a poor job of dealing with refunds. Constantly categorizing them as revenue instead of finding the matching transaction

I’ve enjoyed working with my bookkeeper and highly recommend this service. I think their tax prep services still need some work and I don’t recommend this service from them so I docked a star.

We have used Bench for the past 9 months or so and have been very pleased. I like that our personal bookkeeper and team is available for questions in the messaging feature and that I can schedule calls as needed. The onboarding team was also extremely helpful as we got all of our accounts set up and off the ground. Overall, it’s been a relief to hand off our books, thank you Bench!

It's taken months to get my books updated. I've uploaded everything and they've told me that there is nothing else to do on my end, but I still have more than 3 months of bookkeeping that isn't updated.

Super helpful and friendly team members. They help take a lot of tasks off my plate and allow me to focus on the other aspects of running a small business.

I have been searching for 6 years to get an accounting/bookeeping team to do their job without making me do everything 2 or more times while they did almost nothing. They got my books together in time when 2 other acountant firms failed to reply or do their job correctly. Glad I found them, they saved me from beign late.
