Good easy to use software. Detailed year end reviews that are easy to understand and ready to give to a tax professional which is important to me. My bookkeeper is very responsive as well which I like.

Customer service is professional, responsive, and friendly. I worked with 3 different contact people over my 5 years with Bench and each one of them was great to work with.

Great UI / UX. Pricing is definitely fair. Only negative is that sometimes the books take a little longer to get finished every month.

So far so good. I have to be coming up on a year soon. I’m not 100% convinced the tax guy really got me the lowest possible amount of taxes owed. Also for a real small business it’s way overpriced. I’m paying $500 a month for a book keeper to spend what an hour of two per month and the tax guy to spend maybe a few at the most. updating match 11. Business tax filing deadline is march 15. 4 days from now. They have not even attempted to contact me regarding filing my taxes on time which is what i pay for. I had to reach out and the book keeper sad they will pass my message on and make sure an extension is filed. this is ridiculous giving how much they charge and how little effort they put in to doing things properly. Books are consistently way behind as well. I would not trust Bench to do things right and actually be beneficial to your business and help you in any way.. They will do the bare minimum. They will not be proactive in helping your business throughout the year and helping you have less tax liability etc.

I have been with bench for 2 tax seasons now. I pay a premium every month for their tax services in addition to bookkeeping services. When you sign up, you are assigned to a team (and to one tax professional if you are opting for tax assistance). I have had to correct them on the state level of taxes that I should owe and correct them on the federal tax identification codes that I should be using due to my industry. I have given them leeway due to my line of work being very 'niche' but they seem to be repeating the same mistakes. I will say the group I'm assigned to is very prompt at responding to me in our text communications through the platform/website but any time I want to talk to my tax professional, I have schedule it and the wait is typically a week. During March - June, the wait to talk to my professional is 2 weeks. I don't talk to them often and when I do need them, it's a completely unreasonable wait time. Two weeks ago, I had scheduled a time to phone conference with my tax professional yesterday. I was unable to attend due to sickness. I just got finished calling them back, there is no representative to talk to. I had to leave a message and goodness knows when someone will be able to get back to me. I'm currently vetting for a local bookkeeper/tax preparer. I have no doubt there is an excuse to my treatment. Maybe my company is too small? I pay a premium, so I should be offered the same consideration as anyone else. Maybe the company is too busy? it's your responsibility to handle the work you take on, if you can't you need fix that. I guarantee you won't maintain long lasting customer relationships this way.

They are the single worst service provider I have ever worked with. I have started three companies and three funds and they managed to screw up virtually everything.TM there are definitely companies that do much better work and everything that goes wrong they blame on their contracts.

HORRIBLE BOOKKEEPING SERVICE.! If you try them out do the month to month agreement instead of the yearly fee even with the free month, they wont do the work when you need it done anyway! It is nearly the end of May and the books for 2023 have not been started, even after I requested for the assistant assigned to me several times both via phone conversation, and through their messaging channel. I was so fed up I went with a different book keeping service who appear to be significantly more experienced and knowledgable regarding online businesses.

I’ve tried Bench 3 times and this final time has been horrible. I return this time hoping the service had improved, not the case. I’m disappointed in myself for giving them a third shot. It’s incredibly slow to be paying $299 per month. So far I’ve been charged for 3 months, coming up on a 4th and still my books are not completed. Bookkeeper said he didn’t know how to complete my books and I probably have one of the simplest businesses to do books for with literally one bank account. The connection to your bank account constantly breaks so you have to keep connecting which defeats the purpose of having the service. Bookkeeper disappears and I have to check in with them only to find out still no progress.

Pricier than the traditional bookkeeper, but saved me from doing months of catch up bookkeeping for 2022 and the software integrations sync up perfectly with Shopify, Gusto, my banks, and more.

My experience with the service has been seamless for the past 2 years and I can’t recommend this company enough. Especially in e-commerce, they take care of everything for you and I just need to do a couple categorization a month. Annual taxes have been super seamless and very fortunate to have come across this company. My experience with Ben as well has been second to none - I love how he and others at Bench value me as a customer to great extent - I truly feel taken care of and would highly recommend to anyone looking for end to end book keeping and tax services

The experience was great. Neat communications and documents are kept up to date. A suitable resolution from the new staff members. Downside: Bookkeeping through Bench can be pricy compared to other services I met. The staff turnover rate is enormous and super high. It's like every one or two months, and I'm working with another person. I'd give a 4.3 stars, as they did a great job. However, it can be challenging for small businesses to keep up with the expense of the current bookkeeping fees Bench currently offers. The price can be better. With the economic condition, I would not recommend this product. Service-wise, it's improving. If the subscription fee is lower, I have no problem keeping up with the service.

You may as well do your own books because they will charge you to do your own books... this is not a bookkeeping service. Bench is a software that tries to guess what the category should be based on multiple connections to your bank account. There is no one doing it for you, you are doing it yourself. I thought my 'bookkeeper' would be doing that for me, nope. If I didn't do it every month than they blamed me for my books not being done on time and being inaccurate. Save yourself the headache and look at other options.

Taxfyle stopped accepting bookeeping from Bench because there were so many errors in Bench's work they won't work with Bench's fraudulent accounting any longer. Bench's fraudulent numbers claims my company loaned me $1,032,017.01 - when in fact my company has never loaned anyone any money at any time. Bench's fraudulent numbers show I loaned my company $784,422.55, when in fact I've never loaned the company any money at any time. When I emailed Bench a link to the criminal penalties if I submitted their fraudulent numbers to apply for a loan, line of credit or credit card using their fraudulent numbers would get me 2-5 years in prison and asked them to fix it, Bench's response was to tell me my email was "unproductive" and they would not respond again. Bench refuses to fix these numbers. Bench tells me to file a fraudulent tax return. Their bookeeping is so wrong that when I got the numbers back from my cpa he wanted me to pay more in taxes than I had in profit because Bench inflated my revenue more than Enron and Bernie Madoff did. There's months that Bench reported 10 times more revenue than I actually had. Bench refuses to fix their error and its too late to dispute the charges with my credit card company. I can't even comprehend how Bench could screw up the numbers like they did. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to get Bench to put my company expenses in the correct category. I told Bench my entity is a c-corp and they told me its a s-corp. I told bench a few more times that my entity is a c-corp and then bench told me its a sole proprietor. I had to call the IRS and sit on hold for 90 minutes, record the call of the IRS agent telling me my entity is a multi member c-corp and send the recording of the call to bench before they would do the books correctly for a c-corp. I was wondering if Bench actually matched up the expense accounts to make sure they matched up, and found out Bench doesn't check this. They don't make sure that all subtractions from the bank account go to an expense account like a competent bookeeper would do. Bench's salesman lies and claims they match up all the numbers and double check their work, but thats all a lie. Then my new bookeeper sends me an email with how they celebrate the Indians that lived on their company headquarters about 5,000 years ago. I asked why they recognize the Indians, but not the white people, blacks, gays, lesbians, cannibals and others that previously lived on their land. Seemed like a reasonable question to me since I've never heard of any person or company celebrating some group of people living on their land 5,000 years ago. My bookeeper's supervisor who's a member of the pronoun police emailed me and stated my question was "harassment" and my Bench account was closed immediately with no explanation. This is the question Bench tells me is "offensive", "harrasment", "derogatory" and "unprofessional". But fraudulent accounting is fine with them. I asked what I said that was considered harassment and why, they responded and told me they would not answer my question. I think racism and fraudulent accounting is more unprofessional than asking a question. They won't issue me a refund or fix the fraudulent bookeeping. I had to contact them 6 times before they agreed to refund January, February and March 2023 since they never did any work yet for those months. Which is probably good because they'd probably inflate the numbers by 10 times anyway. Both of my bookeeper's won't answer any questions and didn't finish my bookeeping for 2022 that I paid for. All other bookeeping systems are not compatible with bench. So I have years of bookeeping in Quickbooks, years in Bench and now have to go back to Quickbooks and neither systems are compatible. Bench told me prior to signing up with them they would input the balance sheet into Bench, after they got my money they refused to do this. Bench's last reply to my request to fix their fraudulent numbers was "We consider this matter closed and will no longer be engaging now that we've completed all adjustments" Bench flagged this Trustpilot review as "harmful and illegal" and fortunately Trustpilot wouldn't remove my review since it's 100% true as I proved so to Trustpilot. Next Bench flagged my review as "defamatory" and it's still live as my review is true. So be aware there are probably lots more bad reviews for Bench, they just work harder than any other company I've seen at removing accurate one star reviews for their fraudulent and racist practices. Go woke and go broke.

I just recently discovered Bench and scheduled a free call with them during which I was shown the software and assured that they'd provide me with a CPA and be able to handle all my books. That call ended with the payment for the first month (plus a fee to catch up on previous months) and scheduling an onboarding call. The onboarding call was a no-show (I received an email that the call got canceled minutes after it was supposed to happen) and the promised CPA contact wasn't provided either. Based on that first experience, I'd say, stay away and look for someone else instead. I'm now waiting for a refund of my payment (which I assume I'll only get once I file a chargeback) and am going to look for a new in-person CPA instead that works with Xero or QuickBooks.
