Update Feb 16th: Bench followed up and has been far more responsive and active in completing my books. Appreciative of the effort the team has made to make up for the initial issues. ---- Signed up for Bench in early November. It's the end of January and they still haven't completed my books. I've followed up multiple times but not a single month has been completed yet.

I was initially happy with my service, then I realized I was having to categorize the same expenses for them over an over again. It was difficult to get in communication with the team due to my schedule. When customer support tried to reach out I wasn't able to schedule a time since only a few were available. I ended up spending almost as much time as I was previously. Just not worth the cost. In the end my books I paid for were still not complete. I have the same missing categorization files even for months I paid for.

Kit is an outstanding salesperson with comprehensive product knowledge and superior customer service and support skills. Stef supported us on the back end and was professional, responsive and also had outstanding customer service skills. Our experience with Bench was amazing!

Amazing Experience with BenchRetro - they had to go back and redo all the bookkeeping for 2019 and 2020 for both of our businesses. The team also suggested us a company that helps to resolve any past tax issues. So now our books are very easy and taxes are filed and clarified. Great Communication, very detail oriented. It was a pleasure working with the team.

Overall impressive but with some caveats. The service is designed for small businesses that are pretty simply set up. Our business has a number of unique properties that didn't fit neatly into bench's service. As such, it's taken a bit more work on my side than expected. But I would say for most small to medium-sized businesses, their service is pretty seamless and excellent compared to working with most traditional accountants or accounting firms.

The Bench team has been incredibly helpful getting my small business organized. They’ve worked with me with categorizing transactions and keeping everything accurate. 100% recommend!

I have a pretty complicated home office deduction and it’s taken us a few months to nail it down but I think we are almost there. Lauren has been great to work with. I am sad she is moving on.

They are very quick to answer questions. Customer service is great.

The Bench team is exceptional. They are on top of it. I run a small business and do not have the time or knowledge to do my own accounting. Their response time is very nice and they go above and beyond with a proactive approach to customer service and my business' accounting. Definitely recommend.

I wish someone had warned me. I have just paid for 8 months of accounting and this far in, none of my accounts have been resolved. My account was being paid so little attention to, that after 8 months, they realized that the connection to Square wasn't providing the information they needed and that I would have to download and upload manually. Same for my bank statements as their connection is "running behind". So the attributes of a direct feed that are advertised was completely non-functional, at least in my experience. I had to continually point out huge errors. Transactions that were repeating monthly occurrences, continually entered in random categories all over the place, including a 16,000.00 mistake that I just found. This made so much more work for me and added so much more stress. I entered this arrangement full of hope and excitement, I leave it frustrated and dejected. They only started paying attention to my account when I wanted out, and by that point any trust I had with this service had been completely and continually broken. There was no refund given even though I spent the entire 8 months with no accounts resolved. I recommend you keep doing it yourself, it's less stressful than having them "help".
