Really disappointed sent a 1 year old iPhone 12, 256gb as they had one of the better prices, after reading reviews thought it would be safe however they said the phone was in poor state, this phone had never been out of a cover or screen protector and was in top condition, proceeded to offer £150 less than quoted, I felt I had no option to accept as didn't think I would receive my phone in the condition it was sent, so I would avoid this company at all costs.

Replaced faulty iPhone promptly with no argument

Phone arrived quickly and in great condition, got that new phone feeling at 1/3 of the price.

I received a reasonable quote for my iPhone 12 (£410), and this was quite a bit higher than Gecko Mobile Recycling's competitors. The iPhone was in great condition, and I had taken multiple photos of the phone showing this before I sent the phone. However, once Gecko Mobile received the phone, they claimed that there were significant scratches on the phone and offered me £250, 40% less than what they had offered, which is significantly below what their competitors offered me. They claimed the phone had a "fairly deep scratch" on the screen, and that justified what they were now offering. They made a big deal about how we have a contract and they can't give me the full amount. I disputed this, and was repeatedly told they wouldn't offer me any higher. Eventually they returned the phone against my wishes, and I found it had no scratches on it. I subsequently sold it to musicmagpie.co.uk where the service was seamless and they offered me £340 (which is a similar amount to what Gecko's competitors had been originally offering, albeit slightly lower). Musicmagpie.co.uk has highly similar conditions as gecko mobile and this amount represents they thought it was in excellent condition. I raised a complaint with Gecko Mobile Recycling, and asked they refund me the amount I had lost out on from their quote. They said they reviewed CCTV and saw their staff didn't damage the phone, and therefore would not be refunding the amount I had lost out on. This is irrelevant as the phone was not damaged when it was returned to me. In summary, my experience with gecko mobile recycling is that they lured me in with a high price for my mobile, and then hoped I would not back out when they low balled me having received the phone. I am still fighting with them to get the difference refunded.

Sent my iPhone 12 to gecko and they offered me £153… declined the price then sent it to music magpie who offered £308!

I have sent my phone off and I forgot to attach my order number so they couldn’t identify the phone was from me. I emailed them with the tracking number and Beth went and sorted it out for me ,within one working day. Quick service and great customer service. I did have a lower offer than originally as they say my phone battery was poor. I didn’t have any battery problem before so not sure it’ll that is correct. However I’m happy with the customer service from Beth.

Good service. The phone was supposed to be unlocked but due to the weekend it took a couple of days to get the unlocked code from gecko mobile, but they rectified it tge next working day.

Best trustworthy company I’ve dealt with. Sent my mobile and after a week they contacted me since they couldn’t find it in their system. Through many emails later they found my phone. The post office had mixed up the label and gave me a wrong tracking number. Beth, one of the staff, went the extra mile to find it. I’m so so grateful. Beth you are a blessing and the best.
