Amazing from start to finish . The bag to enclose the phone arrived within 2 days . The instructions were plain and simple . The updates on the app were really helpful and the money arrived on the day that the phone had passed. The price paid was the price quoted.

Feels like a scam. Was offered £241 for my iPhone 11. It’s in excellent condition and meets all of their criteria for this. They sent me a revised offer for £100 less due to it not meeting their standards due to it apparently having a scratch or scuff that can be felt with a finger. There isn’t a single scratch or scuff on it. I contested the offer (I had photographic evidence of the phone before sending it off) and they refused to offer and further explanation. Phone sent back in the least protective cardboard box. Never received the ‘welcome pack’ or packaging and ended up paying for postage myself. Absolute fraud of a company and would not recommend. *UPDATED TO ADD* Following a reply from Gecko stating that my phone had too many scratches on I can confirm that there was not a single scratch on it. I sold it to a different company under the condition Excellent and got the full offer as the phone was deemed to that standard.

I sent in an iPhone 11 that’s had a case on the whole time, they offered me £100 less than what they originally stated because it wasn’t in the condition they expected! It was in excellent condition! I took the cash because they’d already had the phone for 2 days by this point and it was easier than waiting for it to be returned. It’s definitely put me off using online phone recycling companies again

I've turned to Gecko after another company scammed me when trying to sell my iPhone. I was shocked how fast Gecko was in comparison, they sent a padded envelope, with a parcel bag to put it in, and a sticky label to put on it. Compare this to other companies who don't even send any padding, just a label and a thin bag. I'm super impressed how much quicker and efficient this company is

The ratings and reviews were really good for gecko and they were recommended by plunc who I’ve used before. Trading seems like a bit of a lottery, because the highest price isn’t always the one that completes the deal and some of the recycling companies draw you in and then lower the price. Gecko were up there with a great price. The transaction was smooth, quick and they inform you all the way. The full amount was paid with no hassles. My daughter is now going through the process with them on my recommendation. Thanks the experience was just quick and easy.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I was offered £45, was told packaging would arrive in the post, it took 3 weeks for this to arrive. The box was flimsy so I decided to send my phone in, in the original box with all accessories include. After receiving the phone they changed the offer to £17 stating there were too many scratches & poor battery - there is not a single scratch on the phone & it remains fully charged. I refused this offer & asked for the phone to be returned. I just received my phone in a flimsy cardboard box - they have not returned my original box or accessories & have refused to send these back to me.

Very pleased. Money was in the bank on the day Gecko received the mobile. Would highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Gecko mobile for those who want to recycle their phone for cash. I received a fair quote and I then sent my mobile on Tuesday 20th Sep in the prepaid packaging via Royal Mail that Gecko sent (with very straightforward instructions) and it was received by Gecko on Thursday 22nd September. After processing the phone and doing their checks they processed the payment on Friday afternoon which I received in my bank account within an hour. A really good experience with Gecko Mobile. Simple to get a quotation (which was a very good price). Mailing package arrived quickly with clear instructions. I was informed when my phone arrived with them and that it would be assessed within 2 days. Within 24 hours I was informed it had been checked and that they would be transferring the pre agreed amount to my bank account by 6:30 pm that day. The money was in my bank within time. All in all a very good experience after a few bad experiences with some high profile companies.

I decided to sell my iPhone through Gecko based on the estimate they had given me. As far as I am concerned the phone was pristine – two years old and always been in a case and had a screen protector applied. It was clean and scratch free. They quoted based on a good condition (as per the terms on their website). When it was received and processed, they reduced the amount they were prepared to pay by approx. £150. This was due to the battery being less than 85% charge being held compared to new (which I sort of get) and the screen had significant scratches on it. I disputed the scratches, and they sent a picture of a different phone which was filthy and had the wrong button colour. When I raised this, I had another picture sent of my phone showing the EMEI code – but I couldn’t see any scratches on the screen. I raised this and then got a response from someone else saying that it they would need to take some more detailed photos, I asked them to send them over and the response was that the phone had been fully processed and they could take any pictures of it. My advice to anyone sending these guys your phone or device is take pictures of the whole device – so you can show them the state it was sent in. Its far too easy to say there are scratches and reduce the value of any offer. They have not dealt with this in a positive way and have left me feeling that I have been penalised for some minor blemishes that may or may not have existed. I wouldn’t send them any devices again – and would recommend generally people don’t. I accepted the payment due to the faff in getting the phone back, and I am sure there would have been a charge for returning it. If everyone else does the same, then it will not change the behaviour of this company.
