Kuwait | 30 January 2023The buying process was pretty easy. I was just a little sketchy because after I made my purchase, I had got my confirmation email and then nothing after for a few days even though it said 24 hour shipping? I had reached out a couple days later to ask like... "I haven't recieved any email saying that it shipped it" and then shortly after... I recieved the email. The book had sat in one place for like... 4 days which made me worry more. All and all, eventually I got the book so, I am happy with my purchase. I got the book for a cheaper price and the book came at in damn perfect condition.

United States | 29 January 2023All books from Knetbooks come with a 25-day refund guarantee (except for short-term rentals which must be received within 15 days to qualify for the refund guarantee). However, when they claim a book as "New Rental," beware. #1. You will not know if your book was "New Rental." #2. By the time you return your book within the guaranteed 25 days, they will do whatever it takes to find the slightest damage to the book and let you know that there will be no refund. #3. They will send you an email letting you know that you will receive no refund due to the damages, and that you have about a week to decided whether you want the book back (so you can use it for the rental period). #4. You can't. They will not let you rent the book (which you've already paid) nor give any money back. I mean, they will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to keep the book AND your money, blaming on the "New Rental" and the damages that were ALREADY in the book.

United States | 22 January 2023I would HIGHLY discourage anyone from dealing with this business. They have taken my money, continue to claim that my books have been shipped but have not after 3 weeks. They decline to provide me a refund and their customer service is non-existent. AVOID! I hope this business closes down permanently and stops stealing money from college students.

United States | 17 September 2022I rented three books for graduate school. I received 1 out of 3 so far but realized that UPS said they delivered my package with a neighbor "as per requested". I did NOT make this request whatsoever, so I'm not sure where they got that information. I then got a notification that my 2 out of 3 classes were canceled because one of the professors died and the other decided to go on sabbatical without notifying anyone, so I did what any sane person would do - I attempted to return 2 out of the 3 books. Tell me WHY out of almost $240, I only get a return total of $30? One book had a rental total of about $40 and the other was $100. Out of $140, I can only get $30 back as a refund? It's not my fault my professor died and the other left. Additionally, from what I've read in the other reviews, I'm going to have to pay for the label AND the weight of the packaging AND the highlights (that I did NOT do) when I return it on Monday. So I really get NOTHING back. Ridiculous. At this point, I'm going to return all the books I rented from them just so I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore. I'll find the books on Amazon since they have a 30 day no worries free policy.

United States | 09 June 2022I would strongly beware of using Knetbooks and advocate other places despite their prices. First, Knetbooks considers the books to be in your possession until UPS scans the label. However, if you drop your rentals off at a UPS location, UPS uses a completely different label to ship your rented books back to Knetbooks. Second, Knetbooks claims they cannot track the books this way, but still advocates the convenience of returning your books to UPS. Third, ff UPS messes up and ships the books to the wrong location, Knetbooks deems the books to be in your possession still (even if UPS has them) and holds you responsible for the books because UPS did not scan their label. These are the types of unethical, blatantly manipulative, unconscionable customer service and business practices you should be aware of before using them as a book rental service. Their rental agreement also does not account for these types of situations, and they state they can change them at any time. I would strongly beware of hidden fees. My experience with them and renting expensive books was the worst experience to date, and I have never returned a book late or failed to return a book I have rented. All I can say is, beware of Knetbooks like the plague or COVID.

United States | 12 March 2022Stay Far Away. I rented two books. The books I received were brand new but still very expensive to rent. I wrote and highlighted them minimally <1% and returned them on time in excellent condition. Over TWO months after returning them I received a message that they were damaged and I would be charged for them in full and, if I chose, I could have them returned to me for shipping and handling fee. I emailed, called, and complained. Acquiesced and had them returned and they were COVERED in blue ballpoint ink. This happened in THEIR care and they chose to charge me for their error and they refuse to acknowledge it. (I don't even own blue ballpoint pens.) Document your books, take pictures when you ship, cover your butt if you choose to use this service.

United States | 18 February 2022The books arrived in "used" condition, acceptable. I never used a hardcover textbook after deciding to use another source. Two months after return, I was notified the book was returned in condition unacceptable for renting, and I was being charged for the purchase price. Renter beware. They are used books; if you are the unfortunate person who is in possession when it "fails", you bought it. On the bright side, after you buy it they will send it back for $12.

United States | 12 January 2022The company apparently shipped my books a few days after ordering but after waiting two weeks they had not updated any tracking information. They ended up losing my books in transit forcing me to seek other arrangements two weeks into the semester. After considerable persistence they refunded my order and gave me an instore credit of $20 on my next order but I likely won’t be going back. I found out when I went to reorder the textbooks how inflated the books are depending on timing of order. A book that costs $80 to rent was marked up to $150 only a few weeks prior due to the surge in demand. While the last representative I spoke with was helpful, everyone I spoke with prior was rude and dismissive. Likely will not be using the service again.
