Spain | 28 December 2023Completing the Close Protection Course with Phoenix Group in Birmingham was an enhancing experience, refining my skills in security and close protection. Guided by the experienced instructors Lance and Jaye, their commitment to ensuring comprehensive understanding was not only commendable but inspiring. The course's meticulously crafted curriculum included loads of theoretical instruction, various assessments and practical evaluations. Four immersive real-life scenarios, providing a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a realistic context. They do not provide just the basic training to get an SIA Level 3 Certificate, they are engaged to push the students to another level. Grateful for the training with Phoenix Group, I wholeheartedly recommend their Close Protection Course for those seeking top-tier executive protection education. Do not attend the course if: you are not willing to work hard, the schedules are tight. If you cannot follow basic rules of a human being living in a civilised world such as being clean and organised, follow good practices and etiquette. If you are not willing or not able to respect the rules of the house, instructors and colleagues. If you might have difficulties to be on time, or if you may have to interrupt the course for personal reasons. The Phoenix Team will ensure that the rules are followed. I definitely recommend the training with Phoenix for those who have self discipline and are looking beyond simply getting certified.

United Kingdom | 03 December 2023I learnt a lot from this course especially for the directing staff that taught us, there was a wealth of knowledge between them and they know what they're doing. The course timetable itself could be looked at more. Throughout the 20 days there was a lot of time wasted sitting around doing nothing waiting to find out. We started late for nearly all of the days when we could've come in early and got work done. Unarmed combat day seemed like a pointless waste to me. Cash the flash spent more time talking about himself and telling stories than actually teaching and what we did learn was basic and useless. Spending more time on taking opponents down and disarming would be much better. But the other fighting instructor's were very knowledgeable and sociable. Shooting day was also a waste and could be cut out as we only fired 10 rounds of 22lr and that was it. Pointless in my opinion and nothing as shown on the promotion material. I'm disappointed in not getting FREC 3 and how we got certified not qualified in a lot of the subjects. Overall it was an alright experience, we had time to complete all the work and the course staff were very helpful. I never had the feeling of failure even when there was a lot of work to do.

United Kingdom | 01 December 2023The level of instruction and knowledge that was past on from all instructors was top level. You asked a question and you got the answer and support. They are true gentlemen and experts in their field. I would with out any doubt chose phoenix again for providing my training.

United Kingdom | 28 November 2023Would fully recommend to anyone looking for a further insight into the world of close protection. Both instructors were very experienced, along with all secondary instructors along the way; a huge wealth of experience and training on every day of the course. Tasks set out in a certain way allow you to work out how to carry out the tasking, as opposed to telling you how to do it was a refreshing way of tuition from start to finish. If you’re after working on the doors, give this a miss- if you’re looking for a course that will change the way you think and looking for a genuine experience, give them a call. Enough class and field based work to keep you engaged throughout, I thoroughly enjoyed the team dynamic and the workload throughout. Not easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. “Make your box bigger”

United Kingdom | 20 November 2023The course at Phoenix is above and beyond the industry standard with intensive training from start to finish. Would highly recommend especially if you are trying to reach the highest level as the course provides you with credtibale certificates and qualifications. Pleased to have learnt from world leaders who helped prepare me best for the close protection industry

United Kingdom | 12 November 2023The course initially started with first aid training (3 days) followed by a 2 part exam on what you had learnt as well as a few practical tests. Once these are completed you start learning about becoming a CPO, I would warn anyone thinking about taking on this course there is a lot of information you need to absorb quickly if you want to do well and perform in the live exercises. The live exercises were varied and great learning opportunities for you, again you need to take what you learn from the theory classes and put into practice on the live exercises. The learning curve is steep and the course is intense however you have other people around you on the course to help you if you struggle with anything. I did really enjoy the course as there’s a huge coverage of what can be expected in the life of a CPO. The only thing I would have changed was maybe the amount of people that were on the course at that time. There were 30+ people and feel that it would have been far better with around 15-20 in order to have enough time in every part of a team based exercise to perform. As well as that, I think some may have not expected to be as intense as it was therefore might not have been best suited to them to go into this line of work. Other than that would say it’s definitely a great course to take on if you are going to give it 100%.

United Kingdom | 07 November 2023Training was delivered very professionally, and training staff clearly knew what they were talking about. Phoenix have standards way above the bare minimum so be prepared to be challenged. This isn't to say that passing the course is impossible; but it's a good feeling to complete a course that demands high standards at all times.

United Kingdom | 03 November 2023The level at which the training was provided coupled with the overall attitude of the training staff made the course worthwhile.

United Kingdom | 31 October 2023Fantastic course with a great insight regarding close protection. Course was well constructed and well delivered by the Phoenix instructors. Very professionally put together and isn’t your typical average course. Phoenix demands are somewhat challenging but once completed the student will have full confidence in being a competent CPO in the real world of close protection. Would highly recommend.

United Kingdom | 28 September 2023The tutors were very knowledgeable and understanding and gave clear instructions. Throughout the course our tasks were laid out appropriately and slowly gradually built up the team, until the tasks got more difficult but if you had a problem the tutors would understanding and help you solve the problem. Overall was a brilliant CP course and I would definitely recommend anybody wanting to change their lifestyle or strive for a greater goal to try out Pheonix!! 👍🏽

Colombia | 26 September 2023The experience was hard work from day one, but Lance and Jaye were always on hand if you had any questions or need further guidance. They push you to better yourself and they get you to understand what you need to work on and that you are more capable than you think. Really enjoyed the experience especially combat day and driving day. Thank you Lance and Jaye for your hardwork and dedication to preparing me and my course mates for the CP world.

United Kingdom | 26 September 2023Having attended the Phoenix close protection course level 3 this month, Rest assured its not a course were you can just attend in the hope to receive the qualification ,its a course that requires 100% of your attention and for you to remain switched on from start to finish. You need to work hard as a team in order to gain your solo qualification. Regardless of background unless your in CP its a new skillset, one which i enjoyed learning and adapting to, the instruction from the phoenix training team is second to none, Lance and Jaye are a fountain of knowledge within CP and will give you the tools required to be successful on the course. Not only successful but to get you to the phoenix standard which is world level ! We was quite lucky on our course and had guv the CEO of phoenix be part of our final ex and combat day ,very inspiring and motivational but very serious too great to have on our course. A good understanding of IT skills will help as there is plenty of theory but dont be complacent in the classroom as the live operations will require you to think fast and put the theory into practice, your been assessed the whole course but the sense of achievement is great. The course is put together in a clever way, its just missing FREC 3 and then its untouchable. I highly recommend phoenix CP course to anyone wanting to get the best start to there CP career its gold standard in my eyes thoroughly enjoyed it.

United Kingdom | 31 August 2023Good course, just needs FREC 3 as part of the course and better time management when it comes to the lads.

James E
United Kingdom | 31 August 2023Very professional, it’s not a course that you can do halfhearted. The experience let alone the theory they provide will prepare you for the exams!

United Kingdom | 16 August 2023the live exercises were good and very challenging

United Kingdom | 31 July 2023The Close Protection course with Phoenix was very demanding and required plenty of hard work to be put in to earn a pass however was completely worth the time and effort. The instructors provided valuable lessons and insight as to what is required by a Close Protection Officer. The real life live operations were very enjoyable and provided an insight into what it would be like in real life. I would recommend this course to anyone who is debating a career in CP. I would have preferred having a timetable in place so that I would have known what was going to be taking place as appose to finding out on the day or the night before.

United Kingdom | 27 July 2023The course overall was set up good with all you need for a cp, however, if you want to go to hostile zones there will be additional courses you will need to do, I think the course would benefit from doing FREC 3 instead of just level 3 first aid. I thought the live operation are brilliant and a strong point to the course, this give you the ability to test yourself as a CP operator. The driving day and unarmed combat was a nice additional and something different for those that have not done that before. The shooting day will be good for those who have never handled a firearm before but if you're ex military all you do is shoot 22 caliber and learn the marksmanship principles. The course could benefit for those who are more advanced by doing Drills such as live fire movements or something similar. Be careful when speaking to their sales team as they will promise the world to you, I was told I could be working in South Africa for £1000 a day and many people have been told similar things, just don't quit your job before going on the course as I've seen some people make this mistake. Overall its a strong course but would of liked to see more qualifications like FREC 3.

United Kingdom | 27 July 2023The traing was great and the instructors gave out a lot of knowledge to do with the job role, however i feel that the course would benefit from a basis time table just so you knows what's coming in the sense of admin and pre preparation.
