Unusually when opening an online savings account this was logical and intuitive. The website is uniquely user friendly. Real simple process. Rapidly dealt with. Good and effective communication. Add to that a market leading product at the time

Allica started off with competitive rates. Unfortunately they have not increased the rate on their 95 day notice account since March 23. So customers are getting 3.4% interest whilst the base rate is now 5.25% and many easy access accounts are paying 4.5%. If this was a fixed rate term account then that's fair enough but as it is a notice account I think it is unfair to sting customers whilst they wait for their notice to end. Most other providers have upped their rates on notice accounts. Because of this type of approach The Financial Conduct Authority have said that they will consider fining providers that fail to pass on rate rises to their customers. There are plenty of better alternatives out there!

The interest rates are competitive and the website contains the sort code and personal account details. Easier to access than some other accounts found through Raisin.
