I opened a 12 month account with this bank. They had a really good savings rate, and dealing with them and the opening went very well . Cannot fault them

Alica Bank made the opening of my account so straightforward and without any nonsense. Comparing this to the account I attempted to open a week before with a competitor (still waiting) I must say, the performance is first rate.

The worst Customer Service! Most likely on purpose. I have been trying to make overpayment for 5 days but no information on their website, then I email them no reply after that I called them, they said someone is going to call you today, Then no one called! Next day I called them again she said this time I will put urgent mark etc, I waited someone to call me no answer, the other day Then I called them again and I told them "are you doing on purpose because You are playing to get more interest? As everyone knows the interest rates are extremely high! She said "I will personally deal with this issue." Then after 2 days no call no email Nothing! I want to pay as soon as possible to do not pay more interest next month but they are doing on purpose to stop me to make overpayment to get more interest. It means MORE PROFIT FOR THEIR BANK!!!! If you are planning to get any commercial mortgage from this bank, you cannot make overpayment. They will stop you to make payment to get more interest&profit for their company! It is ridiculous! First thing I will rid of this bank after 5 years!!!

Terrible experience and not worth the hassle because they clearly don’t care about their customers! I applied for one of their savings accounts and they wanted a certified copy of an identity document. Their website is buggy and lead to me having created an account but because I had to abandon the application halfway to obtain the required documents my application “got stuck”. I spoke to a very professional lady on the phone, Donna. She was great and contacted IT and got promptly back to me via email. The promise was that the situation would be resolved by the end of the next business day, yesterday Friday. It wasn’t and here we are on a Saturday and the phone lines are closed. The aim was to deposit £85000 with them and they couldn’t get it together! So, no, I wouldn’t recommend this bank to anybody.

Allica Refused to pass on Interest Rate Rise. They Don't offer a 14 Day Cooling off period like almost all the other online banks do. Fixed Rate Bond. Next Year Will Not be Using.

Was offered an overdraft facility in February of this year when they finally got round to agreeing everything it was reduced by 75% even though they hold over 200% security on the original facility. Not sure they will be around for much longer.

Free business banking, very good instant access business savings interest rate (currently 3.5%), cash back on card spend, dedicated relationship manager, good app. So far, very impressed with Allica Bank.
