United Kingdom | 14 June 2024I ordered a lapins cherry tree on COLT rootstock. I had 2 cherry trees with Gisela 5 rootstock which were not growing well in my garden soil, so I paid more for the one with COLT rootstock. Funny thing is, I received one with Gisela 5 rootstock from Directplants. The tag on the tree shows that very clearly. And the so called tree looks like only a thin stick with few leaves. However I sent an email to ask them send the correct rootstock one, I don't want this STICK at all. It's not been reponsed for 5 days now.

United Kingdom | 13 June 2024I ordered 8 plants, all of them arrived in excellent condition, total spend £161, so you don't think I ordered some cheap plants. They were all well packaged and delivered by Direct Plants own courier service. I initially had some misgivings after reading all of the reviews on here, some of them are pretty negative, but in this case, thankfully all seemed to go smoothly. The size and descriptions of the plants were accurate, I carefully measured them as I unpacked them to check they were at least the minimum size quoted (several times with other suppliers I have ordered plants that have been nothing more than a stick in soil, these were genuinely the size described), I checked the quality of the plants as I carefully unboxed, checking the leaves etc. all seem good and planted them the same day. Pyracantha Yellow Soliel D'or Shrub, Magnolia Susan Tree Plant, 2x Chilean Guava Myrtus Ugni Plant, Pyracantha Mohave Red Evergreen Shrub, Osmanthus Burkwoodii Evergreen Fragrant Plant, Ceanothus Victoria Californian Lilac Shrub, Ceanothus Dentatus Evergreen Blue Shrub I compared prices on these, for size, quality and season, all good. This time I am very impressed and I hope future orders are as good.

United Kingdom | 03 June 2024I bought a plum tree in Sept. It arrived with dead leaves. It was Autumn so I wasn't overly concerned. A note with the tree said "it's fine, it will come back to life in spring". Except it didn't. Top of their website says "100% satisfaction guarantee". So when I told them the tree was dead, and they essentially said, "sorry, tough", I did wonder what 100% satisfaction guarantee actually means. Definitely 0% satisfaction for me.

United Kingdom | 30 May 2024My order was cancelled a few days after I placed it by an email saying its status had been updated to cancelled. No explanation, no further communication. I then had to wait ten days for the money to be refunded to my account. They are obviously not bothered about retaining customers. I certainly won’t be using them again.

United Kingdom | 28 May 2024I purchased an Apple Tree from Direct Plants. When it was delivered it was infested with Greenfly. I tried to contact Direct Plants by calling them, but you are told to email and are cut off. I have emailed and emailed for several weeks but there is no response. I want to send the tree back for a full refund but with no way of contacting them I can’t and it’s been sitting in my garden for weeks.

United Kingdom | 23 May 2024I placed an order on 5th May for 50 x 5L plant pots, received confirmation and also received confirmation that item would be dispatched within 3 to 5 days. Order received, however I was sent the incorrect plant pot sizes. Emailed them and got a quick response asking for photo proof of items received. Once this was done they responded stating they would dispatch the correct order that day and I would receive them next working day. I have received nothing, now 8 days on from receiving incorrect order. Have sent several emails and have had no response, have also asked for a full refund and again no response. This company has a phone number, however when you call it, it tells you to email them and they will respond within 24 hours. Not the case. Long and the short I have 50 plants pots that are no use to me. Would not recommend this company and now am out of pocket and really annoyed. ** The Company have contacted me, apologised for all the inconvenience I have experienced. I was offered a full refund and pots on a next day delivery. I was happy with apology and accepted the pots but did not feel a refund was necessary. Very satisfactory outcome.

United Kingdom | 19 May 2024Ordered 100 plant pots. Standard email says “You will shortly receive a confirmation of dispatch email from us. After receiving that email please allow three to five working days for delivery”. Heard nothing more, no response to email, the phone number is hopeless as a message just tells you to email them! 50 plant pots arrived with no notice 3 weeks later. I have queried the delay, and the incomplete order but don’t expect I’ll hear anything from them. Terrible customer experience.

United Kingdom | 07 May 2024Very easy ordering and most plants good so far. However, one arrived cut right down to the soil instead of being 20 to 30 CMS high. Emailed 4 times asking why that might have been and if it was ok or was in fact incorrect, but have not had an answer or acknowledgement. Will not bother again, plenty of other places to order from.

United Kingdom | 18 April 2024Just received my first order, Hydrangea Annabelle. The quality of the plants that I received was the highest of any online order I have ever placed. They arrived well packaged, delivered carefully and on time. Strong, healthy, well developed plants which will boost my garden beautifully. Thank you!

United Kingdom | 15 April 2024Hello received your bare rooted plants through Amazon and just to let you know they arrived spindly and bolted just binned them. Not fit for purpose won't be buying from you again

United Kingdom | 04 April 2024Awful experience. They use DX for delivery and they got the wrong day initially so my poor elderly neighbour very kindly took delivery but only half of it arrived…then this was rearranged- waited in on the allocated day until 21.00 and did not arrive. Think twice before ordering.

United Kingdom | 25 March 2024Never used this company before and placed my first purchase order of Kerria Plentiflora and hoped for the best. Well, it arrived in a timely manner, packaged well and the plant was in a very healthy condition. Very pleased. I am surprised by some of the negative reviews- perhaps make sure you are reviewing the correct company as they are a few with similar names. This one is based in Norfolk.

United Kingdom | 23 March 2024**** It seems they are not willing to compensate me for the materials I've wasted putting the defective posts in and out. I won't be using them again. Be warned, they dont have the customers interest at heart. *** in the interests of fairness it appears that the mistake of sending the wrong steel tubes was a quality control issue, or lack of it, and the correct tubes have been delivered now. After careful consideration I purchased a polytunnel from this company, primarily because of their assurances on their website that the steel tubing was as advertised. "PolyTube is a corrosion-resistant specially coated steel tube. It’s perfect for polytunnels. The warm, sometimes very hot and humid, environment in a polytunnel makes ordinary steel tubing very susceptible to rust and will quickly weaken the structure. But PolyTube has around 20 times the corrosion resistance compared to the widely used & known Z35 pre Galv galvanised tubing. It is also far stronger and long-lasting than cheaper and inferior galvanised steel tubing when in contact with soil. And it’s incredibly strong." However on placing the foundation tubes in the ground they have already started to rust within a couple of weeks. On contacting them they offered to replace the tubes but have given me no assurances that this might happen again, which I asked for. As a result I have reported the issue to trading standards as I suspect theres a case for false advertising, and if I have to I'll consult a steel expert as I seriously doubt the integrity of the steel they use.

United Kingdom | 04 March 2024I ordered fruit three that was lost in delivery process and I never received it. I tried to contact this company, but they didnt even reply for my email. In the end I managed to get my refund from PayPal, because they didnt reply to them either. I would recomment to AVOID this company.

United Kingdom | 23 February 2024I ordered 250 western red cedar plants for a hedge from Direct Plants. I was slightly worried after reading some of these reviews but couldn’t find the same spec elsewhere however the plants were fantastic! Bigger & bushier than I’d expected and fast delivery. Would definitely recommend.

United Kingdom | 18 February 2024I joined by filling you online form and tried to order the 3 climbing clematis types sold in a package deal of 6 plants. I put it in the trolley and can’t find a way to the cash out. I have spent 2 hour trying on a rainless day in February when I could have been in my garden working. Shame on you!

United Kingdom | 13 February 2024Where do I start!! Do not use this company! Ordered a fruit and vegetable frame and was sent hazelnut trees. When I contacted them they said that was what I ordered and even sent me a fake order screenshot. After I sent them screenshots of my real order they said that they couldn’t send my order and I could keep the trees and get a refund too. I replied that I wanted what I ordered. They said due to a listing mistake I wouldn’t be getting my order. I’ve asked for a reasonable alternative, but I’m now being ignored. The trees are cheaper then what I paid. Terrible customer service, terrible communication, terrible company. Their website says 100% satisfaction guaranteed. What a joke.

United Kingdom | 23 November 2023I ordered two trees, two mahonias and a hydrangea, I spent £97.11p. I have reviewed them on Direct Plants website, but those reviews don’t seem to be shown, so decided to leave a review on Trustpilot, wish I had read these reviews before I brought from them. I was disappointed that the trees have been topped out so they look a bit stunted, the mahonias are small but quite healthy, but the hydrangea is just a tiny little twig, I have pictures but can’t put them on here. I have planted everything correctly, so I am hoping they might thrive and look better next year.
