Brought a graded oven as: -Fully working -Dents on sides and back (but a fitted oven) Oven arrived, checked it over but can’t plug in as needs to be wired in, so signed all ok to delivery driver. Wired it up to test before removing old oven to fit and find the fan on this ‘new fully working oven’ does in fact not work. Called to make company aware and they sent request to repair company (Dolphin). 4 days later I have a fixed oven. The fan motor didn’t work and a wire was also crushed. I’ve heard it’s sadly common for these companies to sell knowingly broken goods so they don’t have to pay for fix, then they arrange fix once with the customer through manufacturer warranty. I hope this isn’t the case but thought I should put my experience on here. Happy for Appliance Depot to reach out.

I originally reviewed The Appliance Depot straight after I received my microwave, that review is still shown below. However my opinion has changed. The weekend after I received my built in microwave I went to fit it, and realised that I hadn't taken into account the depth of the new microwave. The new one was a lot deeper, and thus didn't fit in our non standard unit. I checked to see if they had anything suitable, they didn't, so I contacted them first by phone, and was told to email and it will be dealt with on Monday by Anna. I was thinking they would collect when they are next in the area and just charge me for the collection, but no, I got a short and very to the point email, I had to make my own arrangments to return it, I would be charged a £50 restocking fee, the original carriage would also be deducted and if the item wasn't in perfect condition then further deductions would apply (which is fair if I or the courier damage it). When you buy goods via the internet you have 14 days from date of receipt to notify the supplier you want to return them. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations they cant charge a restocking fee, they also have to refund their standard carriage charges, and if the item is in the same condition the full amount of the cost of the item. I pointed this out and they agreed to waive the restocking fee, that was nice of them! Considering they cant charge it in the first place! Had they said they could collect for a fee I no doubt would have agreed, even forfeited the original carriage, as it was my fault, but the £50 restocking fee annoyed me. As for the condition, the goods were supplied in damaged packing (its what they sell after all), thus I didn't trust a courier and I was also a bit wary that they may arrive damaged even if they weren't. I also suspect the cost of a courier would be rather expensive given the size and the weight of the item so I drove the 360 mile round trip and delivered it myself. The staff that received it were very helpful, and polite, they thoroughly checked the microwave, signed my paperwork and let me take pictures of it. I received a confirmation email that the refund had been processed on the Monday, and the full amount was credited back to my card in a few days. Their T&C on their website incorrectly state that that their terms comply with regulations, when they clearly don't on quite a few items. I've changed my review from 5 stars to 2 stars, it would have been 1, but as the staff were helpful on the day of return, and the funds credited back quickly and correctly I feel 2 is appropriate. Original review. Excellent service, I was contacted the day after I placed my order to let me know the delivery date, and likely time. Was kept up to date via phone calls and emails, with a call the day before confirming that I was the second delivery of the day and roughly what time it would be. Delivery driver was great as well, got a phone call about 10 minutes prior to delivery, right on schedule. Can't fault the delivery service.

The team at The Appliance Depot have been great with us. We had a problem with an appliance we bought from them but the problem was not of their making. They have been absolutely fantastic in trying to get things sorted for us. I would have absolutely no hesitation in purchasing from them again, nor would I hesitate to recommend them to anyone else. IVE MANAGED TO DOWNLOAD THE VIDEO ON GOOGLE PROVING I WAS NOT SWEARING AND THAT THEY LIED! AND GUESS WHAT THEYHAVE NOT RESPONDED TO MY VIDEO I SENT THEM. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. We got a smeg oven from them.It came so dirty it had the old owners dinner still in it. It didn't always work and made such a noise that we were forced to get them collect it. On collection I was once again one man collecting it. Thankfully my husband was home! The gentleman collecting it dropped it of the pavement onto one of our cars. Thankfully not a neighbours. When John the the manager called he was just rude! Asked why I was filming not helping I politely advised him of my age and heart condition and that my husband was thankfully here to help. John's attitude was what did I expect from a 2nd hand oven. So I'm out of pocket having paid an electrician to install and the amount of cleaning products used. John had the nerve to ask if I wanted to buy a replacement from them. Please stay away from here and go elsewhere. The whole experience has been vile. The below reply is a complete lie! I have it recorded and I was not swearing! The car damaged was not on the drive but on the road! It is dented. The only email sent to me was the one asking for the oven to be disconnected! Your reply just proves what a bad company you are. The oven wasn't advertised as dirty. I hope you all sleep well at night knowing you are telling lies. The videos proves no swearing. Not once did he ask me to stop. The mark and dent on car is black not cream. I wasn't offered such a replacement and I wouldn't want another product from them! AVOLD AT ALL COST! Yet again still lying! Please supply mobile number so I can send the video via WhatsApp. Its not cream and you are obviously saying I'm not telling the truth. The mark is BLACK! give me a mobile number and I'll prove he isn't telling the truth. Video on Facebook Once again the video is to long to send via email cutting the video is no good! I've tagged your company via Facebook on the full video! I wish I carried on recording outside to prove the lies. I just want my many back and for someone else not to experience the delivery service you offer. Thankfully the car you damaged is old but it could well have not have been. Take this opportunity to rethink your delivery method and give the tools required to your drivers. Next time you can end up with a large claim. On the video your driver mentions not being insured for some things. Please check the video on social media as your reply and my video states to different story's.

Ordered a washer dryer and it seems to have an electrical fault, we cannot get warranty as this product is 7/8 years old according to candy. We rang up about a refund and the lady in the phone was very rude and said she knows nothing about complaints so a manager would phone back which they never have. I have now had to purchase yet another appliance from elsewhere as it doesn’t look like anyone wants to deal with the problem.

Good follow through and information from customer services from the moment of choosing from available stock, putting in order, confirmation of order,, on line and by phone, negotiating shipment and enquiry about satisfaction on completion. Item was well packed, arrived exactly as promised by driver who was pleasant, efficient and for whom nothing was too much trouble. In all a most satisfactory experience. Revives faith in British business in this instant at least being efficient and customer caring. Thank you, a well run company.

Good things The description of the machine was accurate and the price was good. The delivery man was very helpful. For improvement The delivery was booked for a day but there was no time given within that day. When the delivery man hadn't arrived by 11am, I phoned up and was told he was scheduled to be there within the hour - so why couldn't I have been told that at the start ? As it happened, he didn't arrive for over two hours - but that wouldn't have mattered if I had been told I didn't need to be in all day.
