We pay for an annual service have done for 25 years. They are citing a technical hitch in their booking system.

When I called customer service, I was surprised that no basic troubleshooting was offered; instead, I was immediately told I’d need to book a call-out for £144. When the engineer arrived, all he did was spray PTFE lubricant into the lock. While I appreciate the visit, this was something I could easily have done myself if customer service had just suggested it over the phone. A simple bit of advice could have saved me both time and money, and I expected a higher standard of support for a quick-fix issue. For future customers, I’d recommend Banham consider offering some basic troubleshooting steps before insisting on a costly call-out.

This time, you failed to turn up to an appointment and wasted our time in waiting for you for 5 hours! You said you had sent me an email when you hadn’t! You then rescheduled for a week or two’s time and then your engineer turned up the next day completely unarranged and it was pure luck that one of us was in. I am not happy with your service.
