I chose Greener Energy Group due to their excellent online reviews. The initial appointment with Fraser was very informative, he outlined the Hybrid Heating System and its benefits in easy to understand language and answered any follow up questions quickly. The Greener Energy Group also helped negotiate the application process for funding, easy step by step instructions, very easy to follow. The site survey was conducted at a time to suit ourselves and once funding was in place, the team were very quick to set an install date to have out old system removed and the new system plumbed in. Over the two day installation, I found everyone from the plumbers to the electrician to be friendly and professional. The odd unforeseen snags were briefly discussed with me and the work advanced quickly. The workers were tidy and left no mess in my house. A few minor snagging issues after installation were quickly attended to and I now have a very efficient hybrid heating system in place. I would recommend Greener Energy Group to anyone considering installing a Heat Pump or Hybrid system.

The company presentation is that of a potentially government accredited firm that helps householders to install energy efficient heating systems. This isn't the case. I contacted them because we live in a flat with our out of date, heat leaking (at wrong times) storage heaters which we no longer use, The system from the early 1990s was called a Total Heat with Total Control heating system and has two 'restricted' electric meters. This outdated system is useless since the cheaper nighttime rate increased in the last 20 years to become almost the same as the much more expensive rate for lights and cooking. Then there are the double standing charges for the two meters. Since the government brought in laws to prevent restricted meter customers being ripped off it has been possible to get a single standard rate for both meters and People's Energy were easy to get a standard rate from. People's Energy wasn't supported by the government and was made to go bust and I was transferred to British Gas which is constantly supported by the government with low taxes and subsidies - it's almost as if the government (or politicians?) had shares in oil and gas companies! British Gas wouldn't allow us to have a single rate tariff until I appealed to the regulators. BG play really dirty but eventually, after months and months, I got what I am legally allowed - a choice - as per what the privatisation of energy was supposed to allow every customer (except restricted meter households!). The salesman knew nothing about, and wasn't interested in, the unfairness of our very high energy bills when compared with households who have a gas system. Our severely rationed use of heat and light (living-room only while occupied and frost protection setting in the bathroom, with no heat in kitchen, hallway or bedrooms and switching off the immersion heater and using electric shower only so no hot water) uses about 7,000 kwh/year but costs the same or more than households who have full gas central heating in every room all winter. Gas users consume 15,000 kwh of gas and 3,000 kwh of electricity on average per year. The price-cap for energy was set to serve gas centrally heated households not restricted meter customers despite Scotland producing more wind energy than it uses. But of course Scots can't be allowed to benefit from any of that despite hosting all the ugly windmills everywhere you look. Basically we are rationing heat so that the richest 10% can go on heating their swimming pools and consuming hundreds of times more energy than everybody else in order to keep UK net zero figures low for the government's UK net zero targets. The sweetener on the website mentioned grants for replacing old inefficient heating systems and an up to £2,000 scrappage scheme for storage heaters. Sales person arrived and was upfront that it wasn't for us - he could see we weren't wealthy. each new storage heater would cost us £2,500 and we have 3. There was no mention of any mitigation of the cost through the mythical scrappage system or of any grants to help that might apply. I assume none of that really exists. They certainly don't exist for the lower end of the market struggling to pay inflated energy bills.

The funding application can be quite a lengthy and daunting task. When applying, certain wording has to be used which isn't made clear on the HES or EST website, the greener energy group gave me step by step guidance throughout the whole process. The installation engineers, plumbers, electricians and roofers were all excellent in and out quickly and cleaning up afterwards.

Although I didn't have much of a interaction with the solar panel instalation team I did with the electians both of which were great. I do think a pre instalation visit would have help because the electrician was unable to complete the job on the first visit because I had to lift flooring. If I has a pre visit I would have known that and the prep work could have been done.

Brilliant experience with Greener Energy Group. From start of conversation our solar panels were installed within two weeks! Great service by the install team. We are now enjoying almost free electricity…down from £1.90 a day to just a few pence! Amazing. I would thoroughly recommend.

I’m very pleased that I used Greenerenergy for my solar panel installation. There was excellent customer service throughout from the initial consultation through to post installation feedback. The panels with the bird proofing look much better than I was expecting. The system is working well and I’m finding the phone app very useful. So why not 5 stars? The panel installers turned up and did their job then just drove away without a word to me. The electrician did an excellent job but it would have been good if he had offered to clean up when finished. Also why was the handover so rushed. I was left thinking, ‘wow what happened there’ as he too disappeared in a cloud of dust with his colleagues. Not to worry.. I will definitely recommend. Thanks

We installed solar panels and a battery through Greener Energy. The energy surveyor was very knowledgeable and provided verbal and written guidance in terms of our options. The office staff walked us through the Scottish Government loan application at each step. The installation took one day and the installers were professional and took a lot of effort to ensure wires were hidden, the house was left tidy and we understood the operation of our new system. The solar panels were providing electricity to our home and charging our battery before they left. All in all a good and easy experience.

Very disappointed with Greener Energy, they are only interested in selling the product. My experience with after sales has been abysmal. I wrote to them in November 2022 detailing a number of concerns which included; Why does Greener Energy not clearly and honestly explain its process/timelines during its initial sales pitch?  Why does Greener Energy not provide sales staff who have the technical knowledge and experience to provide clear and accurate information from the outset?  How did an expected £10,609.43 saving reduce to exactly £0?  When factoring in the cost of installation and annual servicing costs, what is the true running cost over 7 years compared with my previous system? (I was previously paying £192 annually for servicing my old system).  Why was I not told that the heat pump system does not work in the cold winter months.  Why did an expected installation date for Christmas 2021 end up not going ahead till the second last week in March 2022? Why does no one ever call me back?  Why was no inspection undertaken at the end of the installation to make sure that the system was installed correctly?  Why has Greener Energy left us without heating for 4 weeks? I'm still waiting on a reply to the above despite asking for this on a number of occasions. Since the above issues, the system broke again down leaving us without heating for 6 weeks in Jan/Feb this year eventually Valiant came out and let me know the system could not be repaired by them as it had not been installed correctly, there was no access to the service panel, also there had been no antifreeze added to the system when it was commissioned. Whilst everyone in Greener Energy has been personable and polite, I don't want to have any more dealings with them, from my perspective, they have demonstrated that they don't have the capacity or interest to provide support when things go wrong and they go into silent mode when you try to get help. ********************************************** Oh dear, no apology and going on the attack instead of accepting responsibility and demonstrating some learning; speaks volumes about the culture of Greener Energy. Let’s look at the facts here. Fact – I have hung up on you once; this morning. There was one previous call where I ended the call asking Greener Energy to respond to my complaint in writing. Fact – you have not responded to my complaint in writing as I have asked, this was sent to Greener Energy on 29 November 2022; I have not waited 13 months to raise my concerns. Fact – I was told the system would be installed by Christmas, although there was a slight delay with the government loan scheme, I sent you an email on 30 December 21 to let you know all was approved. I agreed with Greener Energy that the system would be installed at the end of January 22 and at that point I was told nothing could be installed until a site visit had been completed, further delays meant the system was not installed until end of March. Fact - I was told the system would save me energy, I have yet to see any saving, though I appreciate there have been a massive increase in energy costs, I should have been told that the system does not work in the cold winter months as this is when I use most of my energy for heating. Fact – I was left without any heating for at least 4 weeks Yes, I accept responsibility for not paying Greener Energy well past the payment due date, I did so in the hope that someone senior would respond to my complaint in writing. I was reluctant to pay for a system that in my view is not fit for purpose; I did explain this to your staff every time they called to ask for payment. I cannot recall being rude to your office staff and apologise profusely to your office staff for any upset I have caused. I accept I have been frustrated, especially when there was no heating for many weeks in February / March this year. My frustration also stems from a lack of any written explanation to the complaint I have raised with Greener Energy.

Mike, William and Paul installed solar&battery at my home in April 2023. The guys are very professional, work safely and delivered the installation without any issues. Very impressed with the performance of the solar as well with the battery which was perfectly set up to produce when the sun doesn't shine.

After two false starts and time spent waiting for an engineer not to turn up, the third attempt ran like clockwork. With a call to let me know he was half an hour away and just to check we were in, the engineer promptly arrived as expected and was soon getting stuck into the service efficiently. Glad to say all went well and thanks to the team for sorting out the issues. Let’s use the third attempt as the gold standard and make this the norm for future. Thanks again GreenerEnergy
