I find communication with the assigned accountant from Taxes for expats very easy. Despite the time/date difference we seem to be able to deal with queries in a timely fashion and the accountants are always personable, approachable and, best of all, seemingly endlessly patient

I have been a TFX client for 10 years and highly recommend their tax service for expats. They helped me become tax compliant with the IRS through the Streamlined Program back in 2014 and I have continued with them since. Like most people, filing expat taxes is a complicated process that I would not even pretend to understand so having an organization like TFX to do it is a huge benefit to me. I have witnessed the continuous improvement to their website and the tax questionnaire you fill out to provide them the necessary information to complete your return. The questionnaire has gotten better and easier to use every year. The website is easy to understand and navigate and communication via email is always answered promptly. Tax season used to be very stressful, now it is a breeze, I give TFX the info through the tax questionnaire and within a few days my completed tax return is prepared for my review. Their followup to document confirmation of my acceptance of the return as they have prepared it and e-filed it for me is also very prompt.

I've been using Taxes for Expats for a few years and find the experience easier than I initially did. I've lived overseas for decades and was unaware of the reporting requirement; I didn't think I had anything financial to do with the US anymore. Big mistake, I had to go through the Voluntary Disclosure program to get back into compliance. I used a firm in my adopted country to guide me through the process and then used them for years to file my annual returns. They were considerably more expensive than TFX and I had to do more prep work. TFX has made several improvements to their Tax Questionnaire in the past two years. It is the most onerous aspect of filing; you have to supply detailed information about any holdings you have, and due to my ignorance I'd bought personal retirement funds and have savings in accounts that were tax-efficient in my adopted country, but not with respect to the IRS. TFX make the process far easier than the local firm I'd used initially. This year they've introduced a new report synopsis that is provided with your 1040. It's excellent for those who have the financial acumen of a fence post, such as me. Bottom line - their pricing is fair, the process is straightforward, and you have an assigned CPA that responds quickly to emails and the occasional phone call. I think they're good
