I have used TFE since 2008 while living in Shanghai. One of the best out there in my opinion for expats or those with assets overseas. Once you prepare needed materials through the annual questionnaire, the process is quick and seamless. Always quick, professional, and responses to questions when they come up. I highly recommend TFE!

I've been using TFX for many years now - practically since I moved abroad. Some pros of using TFX are that: 1. all my documents are in one place 2. customer service, though declining, is still half-decent. 3. they file your taxes, and the questionnaire is straightforward. My big complaint is how high the price has jumped. It's bad enough that low-income Americans working overseas have to struggle to file taxes in the first place. TFX takes a service you have no choice but to use, and charges an insane surplus for their service - $450. I put up with it when it was $250, then $300, then $350, but paying nearly half a grand for a service that's mostly automated is downright wrong. There are services out there that charge a ton less, I'm finding. If you wanted to use TFX, find something better and save yourself the headache of pulling yourself out of thier ecosystem like I am now.
