Ireland | 01 March 2023Ive been with HomeSecure for a few years now and have always found their 'customer service' to be problematic. When the alarm was initially installed, the engineer that came to our home was an absolute nightmare to deal with. He kept getting distracted and trying to chat. He took at least 3 personal phone calls that each lasted at least 10 mins. I had plans that day which I expressed to HomeSecure at the time of booking and to the engineer as soon as he entered my home. He took three times the estimated time I was quoted to install the system. Besides that, he was generally rude. He kept making insulting comments about my dog and then helped himself to an item out of my house; a staple gun that an engineer from our previous alarm company had left behind. He knew it wasn't his as he acknowledged this and TOLD us he was taking it. I just wanted the man out of my house as he had made me so late that day so I didn't argue but, seriously!?! I then moved home last year which was so unbelievably messy when it came to HomeSecure. It was a stress that I did not need. They try to charge you for the engineer to come out and remove the system and install it in your home, despite the fact that you are paying a monthly fee which includes maintenance. The only way for us to avoid this ridiculous charge was to sign up for another two year contract......seriously. I told them that the house we were moving into needed to be extensively renovated and that this would be time consuming. HomeSecure reassured me that it was fine, absolutely no issues on their end. The engineer came out to remove the system and he was so much better than the first. He had issues removing the sensors as they were all stuck on with adhesive AS WELL as being screwed in place. As a result, a lot of our sensors were broken. He also had issue removing the Dummy Box from the front of our house. Said that the nuts used had rusted. He ended up having to remove it with a hammer which resulted in a lot of damage. We moved into the new house and a couple of months passed before I started receiving threatening txt messages, claiming I am overdue for a monitoring service that I was not yet receiving. Due to the nature of our situation and being assured by HomeSecure; I ignored these messages at first. They started to come every second day until I asked HomeSecure why I was receiving them. As it turns out, it wasn't as straight forward a process as I was initially led to believe. Their system cannot effectively deal with home moves so instead, they pause the account for two months. After the two months are up, they don't follow up with a phonemail or email but instead, you begin receiving these automated threatening txt messages. The txt messages then turn into letters, treating you with overdue amounts for a service you are not receiving. I was then told in a very dismissive, threatening fashion that my time on pause was coming to an end. AT NO STAGE did HomeSecure even suggest to me that there would be a cut off to the timeframe in which I could pause my account. If they had of stated this, I would have closed the account when I moved. Renovations are not completed overnight, no matter how much I wish this was a reality!! I could go into so much more detail about my negative experiences with HomeSecure, but I would literally run out of characters. I wouldn't recommend HomeSecure to anyone and I will be searching for another supplier as soon as my contract is up. ***EDITED TO RESPOND TO HOMESECURE*** I honestly cannot believe you are making these claims. I absolutely DID NOT put ANY form of timeframe on my account being paused due to my home move. I simply told you that I was moving home and could not install my alarm system immediately due to renovations. In turn, HomeSecure did not suggest a time frame. I was simply told that this was no problem. YOUR SYSTEM is automated to a 2 months pause. Something I came to learn during this entire mess. That is why you are now claiming I requested 2 months which I absolutely DID NOT. I see that you didn't feel the need to address any of my other points, including one of your engineer stealing from my home. This speaks volumes.

Far quicker than I thought. The system was installed by Dermot who was really efficient and helpful in explaining everything.

If there is ever a simple issue for example a battery is gone in a sensor they are straight out to fix it. 5star service, 5star equipment! Over all the best experience as a customer I've ever had.

Then the engineer who came out to fit the system was also a lovely guy and very efficient. If this is anything to go by, I would definitely recommend using Homesecure.
