Not long after Matt visited to check I/property was eligible the scaffolding was erected and solar panels fittrd the next day. Very professional teams all through minimal disruption I cannot recommend enough. Doing my green bit as well as getting free electricity!

I was very sceptical at first, Matthew sent all supporting information and contacts immediately which enabled me to discuss with authorising parties, which encouraged me to go ahead with confidence. The efficiency of the whole process from survey to complete installation was amazing. The installation team arrived on time, completed all works on roof and electrics within 4 hours, we’re tidy, professional and competent I could not be happier with the complete experience and highly recommend this company and their contractors. Christmas has come early!

United Kingdom | 11 October 2021Shocking company, had solar energy fitted, workmen came in a left immersion on for a week, had to get £50 back to cover the cost, broke tiles on the roof, left mess in the loft, pulled up insulation and didn't put back, now have also cancelled Smart controls and I am unable to get someone else as been left too late

The reason I have only given 3 stars is that the workmen hit my sky dish and knocked the antenna out of line, They must have seen what they had done but no one informed me. It was not as if it was unrepairable as i fixed it within minutes. Now I know why i was asked to sign that no damage had been caused because i had not switched on the T.V. So they must have known they had caused a problem.

United Kingdom | 07 October 2021City Energy completed an energy review of my home and one of the recommendations was to install solar panels.The installation was very well co-ordinated and completed without any issues or problems (and in poor weather) by their excellent contractors who explained the system workings and advised on best use etc. Superb service and big, big thanks.

Within minutes I had a call booking a date and time for a surveyor to call the following week. The surveyor then called me the following day to say he had had a cancellation in the area and could he call that day. He called, measured up and took photos and said he would be in touch. They needed to reinsulate the loft which they booked an appointment for, turned up on time and completed the work. I then had a call to say that we were entitled to solar panels and again a date and time was agreed and the work was completed. I then had a call to say that extractor fans had to be put into the bathroom and kitchen and again this was completed on time and very professionally I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism of all that I have been involved with for City Energy

United Kingdom | 01 October 2021Do not entertain these cowboys. Pestered me over the phone to take part in the Green Homes Scheme to which I eventually agreed as was funded by the government. Initially messed up my quotation and funding so was delayed for an extra 3 months but accepted sometimes this may happen. When everything was approved, all of a sudden, went really quiet on me. Ironically can chase the sale, but don't want to communicate when they have the order and I have to chase them for information and dates. Funding date was running out of time and they have now decided to cancel on me. Don't trust a word they say with installation or survey dates, they won't turn up, they asked me to do most of the survey work myself (not knowing what to do). A lot of time and effort put in to cover their lack of resources for them to leave me in the lurch. Didn't have the resource to cater for their clients. Happy to be delayed with good communication but this is not the case here. Choose wisely and choose another company who have good customer service and communication.

United Kingdom | 10 September 2021Performed works for me under the Green Homes Grant scheme, through a subcontractor, then invoiced me for activities which were not needed or performed (e.g. removing and refitting nonexistent electrics). They have then continued to chase me in the most reprehensible and unprofessional manner when I rightfully asked for a revised invoice - with an agent called Kerry even deliberately cutting off calls when he disagrees*. I consider this fraudulent and bullying, and would advise anyone to avoid this firm and/or to check your invoices very carefully. A formal complaint to Trustmark is forthcoming. *His further nuggets included, while still remaining in his job and no apology ever offered: “This conversation is over” “This is how a conversation works” “It’s your word over mine” Etc. Utterly clueless and a total waste of time. Update in response to City Energy: there is no confusion by myself between the finder and the installer - the associated payment was sought only by your firm. Readers can draw their own conclusions by the fact you have made zero effort to acknowledge and address the issue, and by the fact that my invoice was later materially updated by your firm to remove the false items in my invoice. One can only assume that this incorrect invoicing (which has nothing to do with any scheme requirements) also exists across your other installations.

United Kingdom | 23 August 2021If I could put less stars I would. This company is one of the worst I have ever dealt with… I am in the property business and deal with builders much of my time. I have never seen anything like this in my 30 year experience. They produced fictitious quotes having never seen or discussed properly (despite much effort from me) my property needs (apart from via satellite 🤷🏻♀️🤣). They could have done a video call even a normal phone call from someone that I could go through with the true requirements would have been a major improvement. They wanted me to submit these to the government for the greener homes grant voucher scheme which would have been fraud. They said they could do things just to get me on board and then finally admitted they could not do the single glazed to double glazed. If they had just admitted to this at the very start we would have been able to walk away without all the aggravating calls bullying me into submitting fraudulent quotes. Now they don’t leave me alone … pushing another scheme at me. Their telephone service is a disgrace. I dread to think how many people they pushed into submitting these sorts of quotes. Fictitious from start to finish.

United Kingdom | 04 August 2021City Energy did a good and rapid job accessing grants for my Internal Wall insulation and for my Room in a Roof insulation. In fact such a good job that local energy advisors here in Cornwall said they had never heard of any one managing to get grants for Room in the Roof insulation down here. The Insulating Company they used, Advanced Energy Solutions, did a great job which was no easy matter in a tiny old cottage where contortionist capabilities were required in the attic. Their office was very responsive when the inevitable minor problems arose, which were easily fixed. I don't think I realised, in advance, quite how disruptive the work would be, inevitably so. Many people move out, I could not, didn't even think about it. However their two man work team was very sympathetic and resposive to my requests and were rapidly no longer strangers in my home. I missed them when they had gone. I woulod recommend City Energy to anyone.

United Kingdom | 19 July 2021The installations under the Green Homes Grant Scheme was excellent. The 2 star rating is due to appalling customer service. After numerous phone calls and emails requesting an invoice- no help has been given. The Scheme has given a deadline of a few days for City Energy to send invoices after which they will not be paid. It is odd that City Energy seem not to care about being paid…

United Kingdom | 02 June 2021As it was government grant I was sceptical of how legitimate the funding and work would be. I can only testify myself how helpful Matthew at City Energy was during the initial enquiry, survey and application for the grant. He answered any concerns or questions fully and reassured me and my family of our options and standard of work that would be carried out. He was true to his word, as Advance Energy ( the company who did the work) worked with me and my family to try and minimize disruption during the month they were at our home. They let me deicide the order of work, and also altered what was needed to try and keep key character features in the house. If I had any concerns about what was being done, the two boys, Rob and Sam always explained what they were doing and checked if I was happy before moving on. Special mention to Rob and Sam for their work, they made sure to clean up everyday and their standard of work was great. I'd recommend City Energy and Advance if the insulation grant is available to you.
