First class service, everything works just fine. Matt Williams, the surveyor explained everything and installation and setup followed. No problems. Careful use of the system has substantially reduced our electricity bills.

Total con, the only people to benefit are the suppliers who get paid by the Government. I Complained several times, not 1 reply. The whole outfit couldn't organise a p..s up in a Brewery, the Installation team came to fit the panels before the scaffold had even been erected ! So they left them here. The Scafold when up didn't give access to fit the panels as to the surveyors instructions. Eventually they were fitted in another position .They really haven't got a clue 😕 The Electrician came another day to wire up, still nothing fitted, no appointments given , they just turned up when the felt like it. I've had no reduction in my electricity bills, in fact it has gone up !! I've told them to remove them as they're a waste of time... Guess what.. no reply .😡

Still waiting on scaffolding to be removed. Have been abandoned by city energy. They gave me the scaffolder phone number but he never replies to messages. Been a nightmare from start to finish. Every date changed. Just not worth it! The phrase .......up in a brewery doesn’t even begin to describe the lack of professional logistics..

The City Energy team has looked after me from start to finish with the install of my solar panels. Professional and informative throughout. Thanks to the team my energy bill will be lower going forward and I couldn't recommend them enough. Big thank you City Energy Team!

City Energy helped me through the application and installation process for solar panels and honestly, I don't have enough words to say how chuffed I am with the solar now it’s been installed. I've been tracking the generation and usage and it is already making a difference to my energy bill, which is just like a huge weight off my shoulders. Also, the firms that came to do the scaffolding and install on behalf of City Energy were lovely; kind and understanding workers and very neat and tidy with their work inside (and outside), so that was great. They were so kind with my son and it really helped. Cannot thank Matt and the team enough, it is literally life changing.

Great service. Mat came to do a survey. He said we qualified for lots of things but, apparently, in the end, only able to acquire the solar panels as I didn't qualify for the other grants. Solar panels fitted promptly and professionally. Now up and running and very grateful that they were installed at just the right time.

Successfully applied for a grant via City Energy. Approval process quick, initial 2 hour EPC assessment completed. Subsequently offered Solar PV and Underfloor Insulation. Contracts sent quickly but with no details of what was to be installed etc so I called them. Technical inspection of home to verify both offers & define specs for works was then scheduled (at my request and as per their initial email) but no-one turned up! Called them, was told unnecessary! Still no schedule of works just a Solar PV schematic was sent - initially with my name, different property then reissued with my name, correct Google Earth pic but wrong address! After chasing them, they finally agree that installation of underfloor insulation was not possible but Solar PV installation date was booked (still no full works schedule given) - sub-contractors arrived late and only the electricians...to check my home since no prior info given to them. Sub-contractors then returned a day later (they were great) but did not install what i expected - one panel less than their provided schematic and all panels fitted to my predominantly EAST facing roof. They also only fitted a 2.4Kwh system (was news to me). Complained to City Energy 4 times in 2 weeks, not a single response despite assurances that their Office Manager would contact me. Have now referred them to HEIS for (FOURTEEN) Consumer Code violations and to seek mediation. They also failed to comply with their own Complaints Procedure and didn't even install what was shown of the Solar PV schematic.

City Energy recently enabled and managed the installation of County Council-funded internal wall insulation, loft insulation and first-time central heating into our home. I was very impressed with this company; the level of customer service offered was outstanding. Our first meeting was reassuringly pleasant and informative. The representative was very knowledgeable with the application process and guided us through the whole procedure. Ongoing communication was excellent and all questions were answered. Elite Rendering Systems carried out the insulation work. The internal wall insulation guys were extremely hard-working, often working until late on a Friday night before a 5 hour journey home. They were very polite and a pleasure to have in our home. The quality of their plastering and final finish was excellent. The loft insulation work was also carried out in a conscientious and professional manner. Thermal Heating Solutions carried out the central heating work. The whole team offered a fantastic service, from the initial survey through to the final installation. The standard of the work was excellent and the team were generous with their time whilst discussing radiator placement and other considerations. Finally I must offer my sincere gratitude to our main point of contact at City Energy, who closely followed the project every step of the way. He was very approachable and helpful, communication was prompt and efficient, and he went out of his way to ensure a positive experience from beginning to end. I would not hesitate to recommend City Energy to anyone interested in improving the energy efficiency of their home.

We have a residential property in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. We had solar panels with inverter, and loft insulation installed via City Energy under the Local Authority Delivery Scheme in Feb 2021. Our application was approved in Nov 2021. We experienced at least 12 issues during the process with City Energy as follows: 1) Despite asking on at least 5 separate occasions by email and telephone, we didn’t get a clear picture of what to expect before, during and after installation. It was not until the day of installation that it was confirmed where the panels and the inverter would go, how they were being installed and what it would look like; 2) Following a pre-install survey, we were sent a document recommending what we were eligible for and what the cost/efficiency savings would be over time. However, the numbers in the document didn’t add up. 3) Contractors would turn up on the day they needed to do work out the blue without prior warning or agreement; 4) We were asked to sign the wrong documents for the loft insulation following install, even though the documents were clearly intended for a senior member/assessor of the project team 5) They didn’t mention we needed to have the ‘DNO response’ document to help us apply for the Smart Export Guarantee (to get paid for exporting electricity to the grid). It took numerous phonecalls and emails between us, City Energy and Wester Power Distribution to finally get a second copy of the actual DNO Response which was sent by Western Power Distribution to City Energy, but City Energy had misplaced 6) We didn’t receive a wiring diagram for the inverter, so any electrician doing any electrical work on the house in the future won’t be informed. 7) One of the cables connecting the inverter to the consumer unit wasn’t connected properly and came loose, losing 5 days of generating time. 8) We haven’t received any warranty for the solar panels, but bizarrely we were signed up to house insurance for the loft insulation (why?!) 9) The documents relating to the install were sent across separate emails with no explanation - we have no idea if this is the complete set of documents; 10) The warranty for the Growatt inverter installed is contradictory and unclear. The inverter error codes in the user/installation manual for the inverter don’t match the actual error codes the inverter generates 11) If we have a problem with the install in the future, it is not entirely clear who we call to sort it out – the Contractor who installed it (the company he said he works for doesn’t seem to exist online) or City Energy? 12) They didn’t mention that we didn’t have a Smart Meter installed (to get paid for exporting electricity to the grid). We are now waiting to get one sorted with our current electricity supplier. Had City Energy flagged this up back in November 2021, we could be getting paid for export by now. We have been generating for 6 weeks and not been paid a penny for any of the excess we export. Since the package installed didn’t come with a battery, we only use what we generate during the day if the washing machine or cooker are on, the rest of the time it is going into the grid for free. Since the work was undertaken, two people from City Energy have been around to inspect the work. Despite asking on two separate occasions, we have yet to receive a formal written sign-off of the work and a written response about what measures they are going to take to improve the experience for future customers. The last person to say they would get back to us on this visited 2 weeks ago, and we haven’t heard anything back yet again. During the final visit it was verbally confirmed that the install was safe but given everything else we have experienced we would feel better if this was signed off in writing. Overall, we are pretty miffed off. The main issues are: a) lack of appreciation about what information needs homeowners may have upfront - this could be easily addressed with a Q&A leaflet for homeowners about the whole process and what to expect; b) lack of a single point of contact for the entire process; c) poor organisation, management, and communication across the project team. It is a shame because it puts a big downer on what was otherwise supposed to be a really positive experience for us; a way of demonstrating to our young kids that we were doing something environmentally responsible to address the climate emergency.

From the very start I had confidence in the surveyor who explained the benefits , cost reduction and installation etc in language ||i could understand. After signing the documents to go ahead i expected some time delay before completion, but no, within 2 weeks I was called and given a firm installation date. The electrician fundi arrived on time, explained every thing ie where the best place for cables boxes etc would be and within 3 hrs had nearly finished,. During this time the contractors who put the solar panels on the roof arrived and again to my amazement were finished within 4 hrs. The system was then tested, met the required specification and lo and behold I had free electricity even on a cloudy day. It was also explained to me the benefit of installing a battery, cost installation etc. I mulled this over for a day or to and then ordered the system(this at my own cost) but worked out in summer it would save ca £2 a day. The system will be fitted next week, a firm date guarantee and efficiency report also given .T he one hitch was that the original installers had forgotten to record some data from the panels and had to come back and lift the panels to obtain te information, this only took one hour and to make up for this glitch, Greenleaf solar/city energy knocked £100 of my battery fee. efficient All in all very satisfied with a competent efficient and pleasent company. highly rec
