They provide a free CV review which seems to be copy paste for all candidates I’ve literally used ChatGPT to improve my CV and do all the changes they asked me to do yet “the CV wasn’t good enough” there is something smelling dodgy here you can’t even find their “CV expert” anywhere on internet searches up for their name everywhere and the profile doesn’t exist couldn’t even find them on LinkedIn so it’s fake made up names, best advice is don’t pay for any additional service or either you will get recked, ChatGPT is free and you can improve your CV by yourself don’t give these crooks any money or either you won’t get a refund and you will regret it

As an update (i recently wrote the review… Terrible product, customer service and terrible overall…) I called TopCV to complain and on the phone they assured me I would get a full refund… or so i thought!! No - they then wrote to me to once again try and persuade me to take a new writer. (I had previously refused this on the phone) I replied and said no i want a full refund They replied and offered me a paltry 30% discount. This is clearly not sufficient and they need to completely refund me and are making the whole process ridiculous. I paid for a service. The service is completely substandard. Refund me. I am looking forward to the automatic reply below “we are sorry about your experience… please contact our support team.. we can’t see your details”. Well guess what TopCV - this is a complaint about your complaints process!!

I have years of experience in my field, but after moving to the UK, I decided to use a professional resume writing service because I thought I didn't know enough about British work culture and resume writing rules here. I was fascinated that they advertised your resume will be written by a professional who knows your industry. I chose the Premium package, which promised a 60-day interview guarantee. However, this guarantee did not hold up in reality. You have only 7 days to review drafts send comments on your resume and ask for edits. After that, they will close your order and you'll never get any answer to messages. You will have access to your resume via career.io website and after the free promotion you don't have access to edit your template on their website. In my experience, the so-called expert who was writing my resume had no idea of the basic concepts in my industry. I'm pleased that I could comment on my first draft and ask them to change some parts. After that, I downloaded my resume in docx and tried to edit it and found out what they mean by "Keyword optimized". They were putting loads of random keywords hidden in my resume. Which I'm not sure is professional. Furthermore, the keywords were mostly irrelevant and not helpful! This experience left me disappointed.

There were some good aspects. But some parts of the CV writing were lazy - spelling mistakes, reusing things from my old CVs, repetitive language and not enough knowledge in my field. I will use some of the copy and structure but not what I expected for the price tag when I opted for the more premium option.

Not worth the money. Writers are based in India and write Indian English as was confirmed in an email from them when I queried the rewritten cover letter I received back on the first round. I had to send the whole thing back after the first draft - the english was bad and grammar worse. Wrong tenses, paste and copy, ai etc. I asked for another writer, and they had another go. I really don’t think they understand what to ask, interpret it and write accordingly. The writer just wrote back saying it’ll pass ATS review. The response to sending the original CV is good, but once you pay, that’s when it goes downhill. The format of the CV is old fashioned, there is nothing fresh about it. I expected a clean fresh document and got a rehash of the old one. Quite honestly not worth it. Maybe they do more if you spend hundreds of pounds. I spent 100. And more or less got told in the end, I could rewrite paragraphs to suit the employer. I know all that. But do expect a decent document to work on. Don’t waste your money on them. Update: I ran the cv through a few free ATS programs and never reached more than 52 points - that was the top, lowest was 41. So it wouldn’t pass ATS. Most employers look for 80+

Absolutely atrocious!!!! AVOID!!!! Was highly recommended to use TopCV when looking for UK Senior Exec Retail Roles in July 2023. I was a Director with 15 years of experience in London with the largest privately owned Optical group in the World The service I received was absolutely shocking. Soon became obvious they were based in a completely different time zone somewhere in the World and were NOT native English speakers! Not even close! I managed to secure a grand total of ZERO interviews with their joke of a CV! With my decades of UK experience, skills and qualifications to say this was a shock was an understatement! Would have respected them if they apologised and offered to put all of it right for no charge but they were arrogant and defiant They ripped me off to the tune of £186!!! PLEASE DO NOT DO WHAT I DID AND LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE!
