06/10 UPDATE: So, exactly one month on, 100's of phone calls, various fob offs and excuses I finally got the money paid today. I'm leaving this review as a 1 star though because quite frankly their service is the worst I have ever received. Out of the 100s of calls I made to them I got through to someone on about 3 occasions, each time I was promised a call back and never got one. I also had my initial quote on the 3 phones I sent, reduced by £200, but by this point I just couldn't face a battle with them(maybe that's what they hope for). I also in this time sent numerous emails, none of them were replied to. I would say treat this company with extreme caution and be prepared to do a LOT of chasing before you get any money from them. ************************************ Sent 3 phones on the Monday, according to RM track and trace they were delivered on the Wednesday. Called on the Friday as I hadn't heard anything, after a LOT of calling I finally got through to some halfwit young girl who claimed there had been a problem opening mail (not entirely sure how difficult this process is?!). She said I should receive an email within the hour. Needless to say, no email received. Tried relentlessly calling again following Monday again I got the same fob off. It's now been over a week since I know my phones were delivered to them and I have tried calling over 100 times today and no-one answers. They haven't responded to the 3 emails I've sent either. Will be reporting to Trading Standards. Avoid this company at all costs. As per other reviews, I can only assume the positive reviews are put on by the useless scamming 'company' themselves. DO NOT TRUST.

They received my phone on Friday, I had confirmation all was okay and payment was made by bank transfer. Money was in my account within two to three working days. Would definitely would use Fonehub again and recommend them.

I had 2 phones to recycle so used 2 companies one being fonehub. I sent both phones the same day the first company paid me within 3 days. After a week I heard nothing from fonehub so emailed them and heard nothing so tried to ring them but as they have weird customer service open time 11-5 it was difficult to get hold of them and after 20 attempts and 2 day I got hold of someone who said it hadn't been looked at yet so I asked had it arrived as on the site it said not received yet I had confirmation it had. She said yes then within an hour I had an email saying it had arrived and awaiting inspection after 3 more days of no news I rang again which again took far too long to wait for someone to answer and again was the same person who this time said payment would be made and an email sent confirming the same day. that response I had for 3 days in a row until the following Monday I rang and was told by the same lady that the phone was going to be looked at that day and the next day got an email saying payment by bacs had been made and by Friday it had arrived the full amount so I got there in the end. This company doesn't seem to be run that well only one person on the phones that youre more likely to win the lottery than get hold of and to who doesn't actually know whats happening so I would recommend staying clear of fonehub and using a company you see adverts for and is more well known.

I sent my Samsung Galaxy S3 into fonehub on or around the 24 May, I received an email back approx a week later saying the £65 they offered me originally had now been lowered to £30 as there were marks all around the outer case and the charging point was cracked which was not the case when I sent it. I told them I would not accept there offer and payed £5 for it to be returned. I paid the money around the 16th June but still no phone has come back despite numerous emails, apparently the phone has been sold without my consent, I have contacted them on numerous ocassions but still no joy they keep saying "have you not received the £30.00 yet" which I havent and would want the original 65 plus the 5 i have paid them, please do not use this company they are hard to get in touch with and completely dishonest. Exactly the same story as everyone else here, Glaxy S3, good condition, offered 65 GBP. Couple of days later, revised offer of 50 GBP due to 'scratches;. Used this company a few years ago with no issues, appears now that they are dishonest and certainly would never use again. To get your phone returned, they want to charge YOU 5 GBP to return! Would never use again, do not trust the positive reviews, I suspect they are made-up. Those giving 1 star it appears have consistent and similar experiences, which seem negative in the majority. Avoid.

Was quoted £65 for my S3. Packaged with screen protector and cover which have been on from day 1 protecting the phone and case. received reduced offer of £50 due to "case have scratches". I disputed but got nowhere. Seems a familiar story going by reviews, I can't help but feel I've been done over. In summary: don't expect to get what they quote you: Follow up to response; Fonehub email below: Your order has been changed Many thanks for choosing fonehub.co.uk recently to sell your old mobile phones for cash. Unfortunately one or more of your phones have been downgraded at our warehouse; see the summary below for more details. (For reference, your order number is 170212.) I just recycled my Samsung S3 with Fonehub and received the full amount offered (£65), by cheque, within a week. My phone was 2 and a bit years old and in perfect condition - I'd used a case and a screen cover, and I wrapped it well and paid for recorded delivery, so I fully expected to get the full amount, which I did. My only criticism would be that their estimated return special delivery cost is out-of-date. You're bound to lose out for the cost of secure postage over £50 - can't criticise Fonehub for that (you could always take the risk). I'd use them again.

If you check their website, there isn't a single bad review, which I suppose should have set the alarm bells ringing. I sent off my phone which their website valued at £65 in good working condition. Being wary and having heard stories of values being reduced, I took photos of my phone before sending it off, with the postage costing £7. I did receive confirmation when they received it and within a couple of days, their offer of £45 saying that the casing was damaged with too many scuff marks. This was completely untrue. The phone had always been kept on a case and I had the photos to prove it wasn't scuffed, so I challenged their offer and sent them the photos as evidence. They then revised their offer to £50 but continued to state that the case was damaged. I asked for photographic evidence of the damage and said if they couldn't provide it I would have my phone back. However, they then asked for £5 to return it, so knowing I would then have to send it to another company incurring a further postage cost, I had little choice but to accept their offer. They know this of course, and are using it to pay less for phones than they advertise on their website. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY TO SELL YOUR UNWANTED PHONES.

I was very disappointed after seeing 99% customer satisfaction on their website to have such appalling service. After receiving my order they took a week to get back to me. They said that because the phone was from the USA they were now going to offer me nothing for the phone. After finally getting through to their customer service I clarified the phone was unlocked to be used in the UK. In the t+c's on theIr website the handset just needs to be able to accept a UK sim. They reassured me after testing it they would email me with a response within the hour. After no response from them after 2 days and unable to get through on their phone number I emailed them. Finally I was informed that because the imei sticker on the phone wasn't an original which I was unaware of I would receive nothing. My only option was to pay for it to be sent back to me- which at the cheapest is half the cost of the money I was offered for the phone. Effectively my perfectly functioning good condition phone is being held to ransom which they will gladly sell I'm sure. I have tried contacting them in response to this and have been ignored. Awful company- treat with caution!

Sent my 6 month old Samsung Galaxy to Fonehub last week. The offer was for £65. Just got an email from them to say it is scuffed and scratched and in bad condition and only going to pay £45! My phone had a back cover and a self adhesive cover on the front. It was is brand new condition. This appears to be the tact they take on many customers, conning then into believing they are paying the best prices. I have emailed them asking to have it sent back... I will wait and see but judging by the other reviews I may have to wait a while. I wish I had read the reviews on this Company before sending it to them. PLEASE don't be conned like me and many others.

Phone was posted over a month ago via tracked service as requested. Still not received a payment and every attempt to contact them has been ignored. Feels like we've just paid £7 for someone to steal the phone!

Further to my post on 25th May I persevered with emailing asking for them to send me photographic evidence of the damage they said existed and offered to send them the photos I had taken before I sent it showing it in perfect condition. Lo and behold I got an email saying their technicians had reviewed it and agreed it was OK so they would pay me their original offer of £70. I accepted that immediately only to receive a further revised offer of £55 two days later citing damage! I emailed saying that I had accepted the offer of £70 so why were they contacting me. No reply to that email but £55 was paid into my account and they have ignored every email from me since. Bunch of absolute crooks!!!

So wish I had read the reviews prior to sending my phone. It was sent with one small scratch on the screen (which, for a 2 year old phone was surely acceptable) - however, received an email stating it was in poor condition ansd they would only pay a lesser amount. I complained, and they put the price they would pay up a little - Still unhappy, so complained further. They then sent me a picture of what they claim to be my phone - Quite simply, it looks like someone had dropped it and dented the back - No way could this have happened in transit, as it was well and truly covered in both bubble rap and tissue paper, so must have heppened their end! To add insult to injury, if I want MY phone back, I have to pay them £5 for postage. Avoid at all costs.

Offer was much higher than most others. Sent special delivery. Then read reviews and was very worried. Then 3 days later money in account as request. This experience could not have gone better. I will definitely use again and would reccomend based on my experience. Like I said above "Faultless transaction"

I am usually a little sceptical of companies like this, I tend to worry about scams etc.. When I first sent the phone & saw it had been delivered the next day, they didn't update my account straight away which got me a little worried, but the next day it was updated, phone checked & my payment issued. I would definitely recommend this company & would 100% use them again - I got around £50 more for the phone too than any other website was offering, which is worth the extra day or so wait for the money. 5/5 for my experience!

Apart from the progress of my order being delayed on their website resulting in me having to call them a couple of times for an update I found the service to be very good. The price I received was as per the original offer and higher than any other I found. Because of the delay I experienced they even paid me by same day transfer. All in all a satisfactory experience. I shall definitely consider Fonehub again when I next need to sell a handset.

After reading various reviews I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt as the price they offered was slightly higher than competitors. Big mistake. The price they quoted me was £210. Now, every second hand phone is likely to have minor marks on it and mine was no exception but they were hardly noticeable. The screen was perfect having benefited from a tempered glass screen protector since the day it arrived. Its interesting to note that for some reason, between me placing my order with them and me posting the device to them, they dropped thir quoted price down from £210 to £5. Fone hub decided the condition of the device was not acceptable and that the 'sensor' was broken so made me a revised offer of £40!! Big difference in price so I politely refused and asked them to send the device back to me immediately - this was 930am on a Monday. Tuesday PM I received another email from them, further explaining that the 'sensor' was broken and cosmetically they weren't happy with it but decided to make me a second revised offer of £40. I politely informed them that that isn't a revised offer and told them that I asked them more than 24 hours ago to send it back to me. In addition, I asked them, given that they more or less demand you pay for recorded delivery when sending to them, to return it recorded delivery back - I.e. in the same condition they received it in. 24 hours later they replied and said they're happy to do that providing I pay £5 for the postage. I refused so they just sent it normal delivery eventually on the following Friday, so it wasn't until more than a week later since I asked them to return it when I received it back. It turned out the 'sensor' they were referring to was the proximity sensor, which detects whether the screen should be on or off when making a call. Having googled the issue its a common problem on Samsung devices as its badly designed and gets dust over it. So I opened up the phone and cleaned it out and hey presto, its working fine now - 5 minute job. Something I'm convinced they already know about and were trying to pull a fast one. I've now gone to a competitor and got £185 - which would have been £195 of FoneHub would have sent me my phone back sooner. These guys are rip off merchants, using a combination of delay tactics, bad business practice and using customers lack of technical knowledge to make a profitable business. Don't be fooled by their higher prices as it will cost you later. I suspect most of the positive reviews are employees of the company.

Sent my 13 month old phone into FoneHub. I was quoted £210. Was emailed on the progression of my order. 8 days later I received the full £210 into my bank. I was well pleased with the entire process from start to finish, although disappointed, a little, that the payment took more than the 2 days specified. All that said I would recommend FoneHub.
