United States | 22 July 2024They kept my $300 deposit. Special rules for one-off situation should have a special notice sent to customers. I happened to rent for the one and only timeframe that requires at 45 day cancellation vs their 7 day cancellation for everything else. I ended up realizing I needed to cancel at 43 days out. No mercy. Lesson learned, in the future I will patronize businesses that can afford to be generous to customers and see the value of creating loyalty with people.

United Kingdom | 17 July 2024For the most part our rental experience was positive. The RV did its job and didn’t breakdown. When we picked the RV up we were hit with a large addition cost for full insurance cover (optional), personal kits (bedding), kitchen kit (basic stuff) and camping seats (one turned out to be damaged). This is just a cost you should factor into your holiday. After hitting the road and getting to our first camp we realised the interior carbon monoxide sensor was faulty. Ended up phoning tech support and was initially told to phone the fire department (at 10pm) when we were 40 miles up a mountain road. Unwilling to do this I ended up pulling the fuse so had no carbon monoxide sensor for the duration of our trip. I also had to disable our fire alarm as it went off anytime we were cooking. We also had intermittent trouble with our toilet flushing. Overall build quality of the RV wasn’t great but then again we’re use to German vehicles. Upon return of the RV everything was fine and we had no problems (bear in mind we took full insurance coverage). Unfortunately for a couple in front of us this wasn’t the case. They apparently had a few bumps and ended up with a charge of over $5000 (so they told us). They hadn’t took the full insurance cover and unfortunately paid the price. Lesson……take the full cover!

United States | 17 July 2024Made a reservation at a campground for a 9 day stay and booked a camper rental. I got a call 2 months out that said, sorry location will be closing here is your deposit back. No real option but to reschedule my whole vacation. Would not recommend.

United Kingdom | 14 July 2024We’ve just come back from our motorhome holiday in Canada with Cruise Canada who are part of the Cruise America family. We’ve used Cruise America in the past in the US but this was our first time in Canada. We picked up in Calgary and it’s fair to say there was no customer care. Every staff member was sour faced, no smiles, no welcome, no ‘Enjoy your trip!’ Nothing… which was a little surprising given the welcome we had received in the US. The van was clearly very old, full of dents, and it had obviously suffered a leak which had been patched up on the outside with water damage and mould on the inside. The interior was tired and old. The flooring was damaged, the curtain rail in front of the bed in front of the bunk bed kept falling down, internal trimmings kept falling off, no shower curtain, the taps leaked every-time we used them which flooded the bathroom and kitchen work surfaces, the external lockers wouldn’t lock as the key snapped in one of the lockers within the first few days with no spare and to cap it all we never had any hot water. Given that we were staying in National Parks this proved tricky as we had to keep boiling the kettle to wash and wash up meaning we used our propane far quicker than we wanted to. When we returned the van we saw a different staff member - again, absolutely stoney faced - no interest whatsoever in our trip or the issues with the interior or hot water. She just shrugged and literally could not have cared less. Given that every staff member had the same attitude I guess this comes from the management down. It didn’t spoil our holiday but it definitely put a bit of a dampener on it and I don’t believe the van was worth the money we paid given all the faults and damage inside. Such a shame given how happy we were with the van we collected in New York a few years ago.

Knowing that a business has clear cancelation policy that respects the fact that sometimes plans have to change is very important. Thank you.
