United States | 02 October 2024Nothing really wrong. Told one thing was possible, and after applying the information, told it can't be done. Just mixed messages that altered all plans.

United States | 02 October 2024Unfortunately there was a death in the family and we had to postpone our trip. 2 weeks before our pickup date I called to cancel, I was expecting a hard time or extra fees. To my amazement there was no issue. Very polite and professional. The same experience when booking. Can't wait to book our trip again!

Netherlands | 27 September 2024Rented C25 for 21 nights, RV very dirty when delivered to us, including the sleeping bag (see photographs). Fridge and freezer not working after few hours. Roof in bathroom leaking. RV 3,5 years old and worn. Windshield wiper very worn and unsafe in case of medium/heavy rain. Many damages in the interior. Very basic (no multi media system, tv, camera on back side, shade screen). No basic accessories provided (levelling blocks, pods for black/grey water tanks, etc.). We received 300 dollars compensation at return of vehicle for the inconvenience, but I'd rather have experienced the service Cruise America advertises on its website. Conclusion: when you want the budget option and are willing to accept an older vehicle with possible defects (that you are willing to let repair during your rental period), Cruise America could be for you. If you want a clean and modern vehicle based on my experience I would advice anyone to choose El Monte, Road Bear, Best Time RV, etc. I will never book Cruise America again. It was a disappointing experience and when on a holiday I do not want to be bothered with overdue maintenance of the rental company.

France | 27 September 20241 - Why call yourself "Cruise America" if you do not allow clients to drop off in a different location? We rented the vehicle in Albuquerque and had to drive 3 days (22 hours) from Montana to Albuquerque to return it. When we booked the car, we paid for a drop off in Montana. Then, they cancelled and said we could not return there, it had to be returned in the same pick up office. They never allowed us to use that "drop off in another location" that they claim to offer in their website. 2 - Rude service at office location from Chris, the manager at Albuquerque. When asked how to use the special things of the vehicle (tanks etc) he said: "You can watch the video in our website". Thanks Chris. 3 - the vehicle was really DIRTY when we picked it up. 4 - Given that they did not allow us to return the vehicle in Montana we have to pay EXTRA 1000 Dollars for surpassing the miles we hired. WHAT A THEFT. I do not recommend Cruise America at all.

United States | 23 September 2024Friday 6th. Picked up RV from Mesa location. Refrigerator would not get chilled, but the temperature was 100+ degrees. Heard a faint squeezing noise in back. Upon returning home, while making bed, found multiple tissues and Q-tips under mattress. Also found the RV loaded with crumbs from other users and a prescribed empty box that contained anti-fungal cream that belonged to a woman from New York. Upon this, my wife totally cleaned and disinfectant the RV. Took three hours. Saturday 7th. Took RV to a local Tucson shop to evaluate the refrigerator. Shop said it needed to be replaced. Lost a day of travel. Since our ice cooler had already been shipped, I had to buy new cooler and ice. Was told to continue to use the freezer. Sunday 8th. Took RV to Juniper creek. Found two outlets in the kitchen area that did not work. Found the furnace did not work. We were at 5000’ elevation with no heat. Nosie continued. Monday 9th. Joel from Cruise America talked me through resetting the GFI circuit for the two outlets that didn’t work. Then walked me through purging the furnace and got that working. Walked through resetting the refrigerator. Stayed at RV site with FHU. It took six hours but the refrigerator finally started to cool. Placed food inside. Squeaking noise is now a squealing noise. We took our first shower and found that the shower leaks into the cab. Emptied both waste tanks. Tuesday 10th. Red Rock Canyon OK. Found refrigerator inoperative again. Food spoiled. Cruise America called and my wife told them it went down again. Agent said to keep the receipts from days ago. Nosie really bad now. After first stop for fuel and lunch, because the food was spoiled. Checked LPG, GRY, BLK, and fresh. Found BLK at 2/3 and GRY at 1/3 even though the system was emptied. Since we were dry camping, told family to conserve. We use the camp site facilities instead. Wednesday 11th. Emptied both waste tanks again. Very little flow. Tested lights and found BLK at empty and GRY at empty. Took off for AR with the noise continuing and then subsiding and finally stopped. After parking at Toad Suck state park, tested tank levels. BLK was at 2/3 and GRY was at 1/3. I spent another $20 at a different location just to make sure. Just another item broken on the unit, obvious sensors are bad. Took a combat shower and found the water not only leaked inside but there was a substantial pool of water outside under the RV. Thursday 12th. Still at Toad Suck state park. Crawled under RV and found the propane tank heat shield had been disintegrated and up against tire. All fasteners attaching shield to metal frame were gone. Now we know what the squealing sound was. Very fortunate that the tire did not blow. Ran shower and water poured out from underneath. The refrigerator broke down again. All of the food was spoiled. I am actual concerned about driving this thing and killing my family. Per the Cruise America customer rep, drove the RV to Customer RV in Conway AR. It started to rain and of course the wipers just smeared the rain across the shield. I was totally blinded. Fortunately, the RV shop was able to replace the wipers and fix the propane heat shield. Four more hours of lost travel time. We were not able to make it to our next preplanned stop, so we camped at a Navy base. It started raining and the ceiling in the RV leaked. I just looked at that and said, “of course, why not”. Friday 13th. Made our next stop and by now, the frig stinks and we all stinks. Prue misery. My wife has now forbidden me to make any future travel plans. Saturday 14th. Made it to our destination. Sunday 15th. Spent the day cleaning this stupid thing. I don’t think the frig will ever smell right again. Monday 16th. When I went to drop the unit off in Greensboro, there was nobody attending the business site. I never got the opportunity to discuss the issues, turn in the receipts, and get consideration for the poor condition of the unit, the lost travel time, missed camping reservations, fuel spent on the diversion, and the extra miles driven to get this RV fixed. Another two hours of my life wasted. I still have not received a receipt for the drop off. Just look at the unit's logs.

United States | 21 September 2024When I received the RV, the propane and gas was less than half full, though it's supposed to be 3/4 full. Several electrical outlets didn't work. Tire pressure sensor was busted. And worst, the RV had an expired registration which is a breach of contract. None of the promised utlities e.g bedding, kitchenware, etc were in the vehicle. When I called support they told me that no one would help me over the phone and that I had to email them. 2 weeks later they still have not responded. At this point I have no choice but to file in small claims court.

United States | 15 September 2024The website will only get you close to enough information to book. Once I called, like in the old days 🤣 it went smoothly. The rates are pretty good 👍. I’m unable to use an RV for this business trip, and had to cancel. That was very straightforward as well, over the phone. They have some interesting specials for one way trips that you might consider too. I’m going to be booking my trip for early 2025, and can’t wait.

United States | 14 September 2024The rental process was easy, as was the check-in / check-out process. Beyond that the rental was a disaster. The outside of the camper hadn't been washed in for who knows how long, it was damaged in multiple places and had very poor-looking repairs in other areas. Inside the camper, just about every piece of metal was rusty, trim was coming off in multiple places, it leaked around the air conditioning unit on the roof, the curtains were falling off the tabs that are supposed to hold them, and to top it all off...IT SMELLED LIKE SOMEONE HAD CLOSED ALL THE WINDOWS AND SMOKED A PACK OF CIGARETTES (OR SOMETHING ELSE) IN IT. You were overpowered with the smell from the moment you opened the door. Once we were at our camping spot, we opened the windows...you could literally smell it when walking up to the camper! We were sitting around visiting with others at our campsite and they commented on how we smelled like the inside of our camper! Disgusting!! We had someone who was going to sleep in the camper with us, but they couldn't because of the smell. It literally made them nauseous. If I were the business owner, I would have been embarrassed to rent this to a customer, but obviously they weren’t. It looked like something that had been setting on their lot for years then they said, oh here comes a dummy, let's rent it to him! What a disappointment!! We will never rent from Cruise America again!!

United States | 07 September 2024I unfortunately could not use the motor home we had rented because my husband ended up in the hospital at the last minute. Cruise America allowed me to cancel my reservation and did not charge me for it. I was so grateful they would do that at the last minute. I would deal with them again for sure.
