We purchased an LG American fridge freezer with a 5-year warranty, only to find out that their so-called “warranty” is full of hidden terms that make it practically useless. Our fridge became faulty, and after two months of back-and-forth, LG issued us an uplift letter confirming we were entitled to a refund. However, Appliance Electronics refused to honor a full refund, citing their unfair “retailer policy”—a policy that deducts 30% of the refund for “usage” if the product is over six months old, plus an outrageous £150 fee to return the appliance. This means we are now left without a working fridge and nowhere near enough money to replace it. It’s disgraceful that they advertise a 5-year warranty but conveniently find ways to take money from their customers when they actually need support. I strongly advise avoiding this company—buy from a reputable retailer who stands by their products and customers.
