All I ordered was a nest of tables that I expected to pick up from the store when ready. Why a mandatory delivery charge then? There seems to be no way to avoid this charge so why not include the “Basic” level in the ticket cost? It doesn’t seem to be displayed anywhere in the store that this will be applied when you pay. If it wasn’t for the fact that my wife had decided I’d have not bothered. Maybe I’m being dramatic but after a busy morning shopping I was feeling principled. Is this even legal?

United Kingdom | 24 April 2025Ordered a corner sofa on 27th February. Delivery date of 29th April. Had an email to say delivery could be a little sooner - 23rd April. Delivery men came on time, brought in … 2 of the same halves. So took 1 away, they said warehouse team obviously put wrong side in van, they’d call customer services and ask for other half to be brought out asap, we’d skip queue. Call from customer services only to say that the sofa is out of stock and need to wait until 23rd June, only other option is refund/exchange. We refused either option and asked to speak to manager. Put through to supervisor who told us the previous person hadn’t actually checked with logistics to see if the other half of our sofa is in a warehouse somewhere, so they’d get back to us. End of day still haven’t heard back so not holding out much hope. But the fact we are expected to still pay the full amount for half a product is mind boggling. Currently looking into trading standards to see if they can actually demand payment for sometime they have yet to supply. From reviews I’ve read here and off a Facebook group set up by customers with bad experiences I would stay well clear! Unfortunately due to our circumstances our hands are tied with this one.
