United States | 07 March 2023I attempted to return two unworn dresses (they fit horribly), brand new with tags after the 30 day return deadline. Lulus rejected the return and offered to either ship them back to me or donate them (which makes no sense since they could still sell them on their site). I cannot believe they would not even offer a store credit considering that they are still selling both dresses on their website for full price. This is poor customer service and no other company has acted this way when I have made a late return. Buyer beware.

United States | 11 February 2023I have ordered black Jaelyn Black Crocodile Embossed Pointed-Toe Slides. The same day I got them, I also returned them. Delivery was fast, but the packaging and shoe box was completely damaged. Slides were not as shown on picture, in person they were not that nice at all, one part of both slides was scratching my skin and usually I wear size US 5.5 or 6, and I have ordered size 6 and I could easily order 6.5 as they were bit smaller. Overall, as mentioned, returned them just after couple of hours after receiving them and what a shame.

I required assistance clarifying exchanging items that were far too large as I ordered according to reviews saying items “ran large” which apparently didn’t apply to me. A “woman” named “Brandi” basically didn’t read any of my questions to clarify my inquiry to exchange and just kept repeating herself despite me expressing I understood her and adding elaboration my inquiry. To my surprise she eventually began yelling at me to review the return policy. She was extremely unclear, had such attitude and was incredibly impatient and very unprofessional. I now need a recommendation for a better place to purchase clothing similar to Lulus because of this awful and abusive experience. I wanted to be able to exchange three shirts for a smaller size and despite it saying in my emails that those particular shirts were possible “for exchange only” - that was my expectation. Brandi also yelled at me that the promotional period was over and I would have to BUY the shirts at regular cost and then return the items I was dissatisfied with. That’s not an exchange! What a business! Total bunk.

I'll admit I was a bit hesitant at first, because the dress I ordered had to be shipped from USA and the company does not deliver return labels for these kinds of deliveries. I was able to estimate the customs costs of the dress using a website (estimated to be at around €30), and this was in line with the actual costs I had to pay. I ordered the dress on the 4th of December and it arrived 5 days later with DHL. I was kept up to date about every step in the proces. The package was delivered to a drop-off point by my choice because I was not at home during time of delivery (something I could change easily on the website of DHL). The dress itself is very beautiful, just as I expected. I used the size fitter from the website and this was accurate. So overall a very good experience and very happy with my dress!

United States | 15 December 2022As a pet owner I will not shop here again. I had several hundreds of dollars of dresses rejected due to pet hair. The items were tried on at the kitchen table to prevent pet hair from getting on them, then immediately put bag in their bag. As a doctor working in the allergy and asthma field I understand pet hair is an allergen for many people but to reject returns due to a stray hair is unheard of and obscene. I will not be supporting this company again.

United States | 10 December 2022Most of the clothes have poor quality and bad fitting. They claim to be an affordable luxury brand and market themselves that way but that isn't really the case. If you try to return their items most of the times their labels are not accessible and then they take time to provide it to you separately. If by then the 30 day window has passed they will not refund anything. If you keep requesting then may be a store credit even if the fault is at their end. Luxury brands also make sure to offer excellent customer service. Lulu's is just another brand trying to fit into that space with nothing that stands out to make the experience like that of a luxury brand. I purchased many items from this website specifically for one year. I must have ordered some 50-60 items in one year. Most of which I returned it I had to sell them off because they are stringent about their return policy without taking into consideration their own response to any return related issues the customer is facing. This is the one and the only year I bought anything from their website. It seems they have tied up with Nordstrom, may be to appear more like a luxury brand in the eyes of the customer, I personally feel if you're interested in any item on their website, it's best to buy it through Nordstrom. At least it will save the all the time and effort that goes into return to their original website. apart from their their clothes are cheap quality clothes with poor fitting. Even the way it is packed and parceled it doesn't match the standards of any other luxury brand. There are also sometimes threads hanging from clothes with creases all over. Also, in one whole year of so many orders they never offered any discounts or special offers. This brand is far far from title of luxury brand. After this experience, I do not feel investing in this brand at all. It is not wise to buy clothes from here when they cannot be returned and also that most of the order has to be returned because it is cheap quality. I recently saw many of their items being sold on platforms like SheIn and other websites at half the price. It is the same quality.

United States | 11 November 2022AWFUL quality. I ordered a pair of shoes and they were so cheap looking i think they would have disintegrated if I walked outside in them. I tried them on for approximately 2 minutes - put them back in the box to return them, then received an email "that they didn't pass inspection". They sent me a picture with a scuff on the bottom from WALKING AROUND MY HOUSE - which anyone could have cleaned in 30 seconds. They gave me store credit and refused to refund my order. Why would i want store credit to buy more cheaply made garbage? Would not recommend buying from here just based on quality of the items, but definitely not with this scam return policy.

United States | 11 November 2022I bought several different dresses from Lulus last month as I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. I ordered different styles in the same color. I would try one on and return that same week if it didn't fit. I am now being told that Lulus will not accept my return due to pet dander being on the dress and not being able to resell it. I do NOT own a pet. The picture they provided showed small hairs and/or dirt/dust but I only tried the dress on once and quickly returned it to the box it came in. I have been going back and forth with customer service but they keep insisting it is pet dander which they CANNOT prove. I do not own a pet due to my own allergies and their responses keep saying the same thing. Finally the last customer service rep said "It might be human hair" but it's also against their policy... which I dont see anything about human hair on their return policy. I seriously doubt it's even human hair nor do I know how it got there. The funny thing is I returned multiple things in the same box/package and yet they are only saying one dress has "pet hair" on it. Well how is that possible? I am waiting for them to say now all dresses will not be accepted. I'm sorry, but I purchased 5-6 dresses which cost a great deal and I'm concerned they will not accept any and I will be out of pocket for all of that. I do not want store credit after this experience.

United States | 10 November 2022Unfortunately, the dress quality doesn’t align with the $75 price tag and I have never in the history of shopping (and I shop A LOT and have for a long, long time) been refused a return by any other company due to a few pet hairs that got on the dress during one try on. This situation will deter me from shopping with Lulu’s again.

They made a one time exception and issued my refund, which I’m very thankful for. If I order from Lulus again I’ll be sure to rigorously inspect items for dog hair if I need to return them. Otherwise, I’ll just keep them and re-sell them on my own since sending items back might mean risking the money I spent. Their customer service team gives them an extra two stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Pet owners beware! That’s the lesson I learned from my recent return experience and it unfortunately looks like several other people have had similar experiences. I ordered three dresses, tried them on for a few minutes each, and put them back in the packaging they arrived in. I actually loved one of them, but wanted it in a different color so ordered that separately. I returned the items within their 7-day return window (which provides free shipping, there’s a charge if you send them back after 7-days). Two weeks later their customer support reached out to say my items “didn’t pass our quality control inspection due to being returned with pet hair. We at Lulus love our fur babies, but unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns with pet hair. We understand that trying on clothes can be tricky, so we are issuing a refund in online credit as a one-time exception! This will be issued in 3-5 business days and will be added directly to your Lulus account.” This is so frustrating. As a person on the shorter side (I’m 5’2), the dresses touched the floor while I was trying them on. I’m guessing this is how dog hair ended up on them. The email included a picture of each item with a few dog hairs, but I know they’ve told others that the picture is “only a small section” so I’m sure they’ll say the same to me. I wasn’t rolling around on the floor or playing with my dog while trying the dresses on, but apparently my cleaning isn’t up to Lulu’s standards. It’s super disappointing to feel that because I have a dog and I’m short I can’t order from this company. I didn’t have major issues with the quality or fit (other than everything being 10inches too long), but if I can’t trust that I’ll be able to make a successful return I can’t confidently place anymore orders. I already know I’m going to have to pay extra for alterations every time. Now I guess I’ll also have to take my dog to a boarding facility and hire a maid before trying the clothes on? It’s ridiculous. I’ve ordered plenty of clothes, shoes, and accessories online from other retailers and I’ve never experienced this. What a disappointment!

United States | 06 November 2022I ordered from Lulus once before and had no issue returning but my most recent order- I tried returning two dresses that did not fit. They accepted one but refused the other. I simply tried on the items and put them in the package right away- they claim one ended up not passing their “quality inspection due to pet hair” (I see a couple reviews here who have had the same issue). There were four dog hairs in the picture. Are you kidding me? I bet they lint rolled the item and resold just to keep my money. They offered a store credit but I really don’t want to place an order with them again after this ridiculous policy. Wont be shopping here in the future. Great job Lulus- you lost a customer, not to mention I’ve ordered a dress from you in the past that came wrinkled but apparently that passed your “quality inspection”.

United States | 05 November 2022If I could give 0 stars I would, I truly do not recommend shopping here. I bought a dress, put in my EXACT sizes and bought the size they recommended. I got the dress and it did not even come close to fitting. This was disappointing to say the least, but I figured I would just try again. So I set that dress aside until I could get the return initiated, and bought another dress. I had the exact same issues with this dress, but was able to make it work (this dress had major quality issues however, including the buttons just popping off for no reason) since I was out of time before the event I was wearing it to. I was then able to return the other dress. After a few weeks of waiting I receive and email saying my return can’t be accepted, and there is a photo attached with very random looking pet hairs attached (I do not own a pet). I explained this to customer service and was told I could have store credit, but seeing as this store obviously does not have dresses that fit me, and their quality is awful, the last thing I want is store credit. I’ve basically been scammed out of my money now, and am left feeling extremely frustrated. As I said, I don’t have a pet, and unless they don’t plan on washing their dress, I fail to see why this is an issue. Moral of the story is, save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else, where customers are valued.

United States | 04 November 2022Buyer beware! I recently ordered a dress from this company and returned it as I didn't like the style on myself. They refused my return due to pet hair. I had the dress out for maybe five minutes and immediately put it back in the packaging. They sent a photo of the dress with five dog hairs on it that could have easily been removed by hand or with a lint roller. I've never had this problem with any other company. I won't do business with them again. Update: Poor response here from the company as well. Five pieces of pet hair should not completely invalidate an $80 return. I don’t recommend them at all.

United States | 31 October 2022I wish I had done more research on this company before ordering a few dresses to try for my wedding. I waited weeks for the dress I was interested in to go back in stock. While the quality of the garments was good, I found similar if not better items on other sites (with better return policies) for less than half the price. I tried on the two dresses I ordered in my home for 5 minutes max. Didn't even leave the room. Returned both items right away and they only refunded me for one. Sending a dark and blurry photo stating that the second couldn't be refunded because it had dirt on the hem and pet hair. It seems a bit suspicious that two items tried on under the same circumstances would have two different return outcomes. They offered a "one time exception" to credit my Lulus account for the purchase, but their clothes do not fit me and are not size inclusive so I do not plan to use them again. It also took them nearly TWO weeks to even notify me of this decision. So buyer beware, you better really know you like what you order and be sure it fits. Or if if you plan to return anything from this place try it on in an engineered cleanroom at a hospital or something, lest some dust particles be in your general vicinity when you try it on. Update: I was able to respond to the return departments decision and they responded quickly. Their team had good customer service and was able to make sure that I was accommodated by making a one time exception and issuing my refund. I have updated my review from 1 star to 4 stars given the speedy resolution.

Canada | 09 September 2022Bought a few pieces from Lulu's that just a little over $100. A few days later I got a message saying I owe DHL $105 for Shipping/ Handling and VAT. I would've never bought anything from them if I knew I'd be wasting money like that. I've bought from so many other American companies and never been charged that amount! I couldn't spent my money else where and that's what I'll do. Don't waste your money like I did!
