I have recently sold my flat in Glasgow with DJ Alexander. I was dealing with Ruth Woodcock in the Glasgow office who has been fantastic throughout. My flat required emptying and cleaning which DJ Alexander arranged for me. They also took care of the viewings which was extremely helpful. After an initially slow start to the sale, I was concerned that we were not getting enough interest in the flat but Ruth advised me to stick with it. This was excellent advice as I soon received an offer that was comfortably more I was expecting. The rest of the sales process was remarkably smooth too. I could not have hoped for a better experience for selling my first flat.

An awful letting agency who I never wish to deal with again. Akin to other reviews, our original tenancy agreement was taken out with Tay Letting who were a fantastic organisation to deal with. Unfortunately for us (and for many others), DJ Alexander acquired Tay Letting around two months before our tenancy ended. The property was left in an immaculate condition which was reflected within the check out report. However, there was a charge on the report for a stain on the bedroom carpet. This was quickly refuted by us using the original inventory as evidence that the stain was already present prior to us moving in. There was then a second issue noted on the report saying that the windows did not open and that the landlord would be charged for them. Thankfully we had taken a video of the property just before we had left with all of the windows open. The above issues were quickly quashed by us, however, there was no sense of urgency from DJ Alexander to conclude the matter and release the deposit. Weeks went by with constant emails and phone calls chasing an answer where they were blaming the landlord for not responding. We believed what they were telling us at first although after 4 weeks we lost faith. Eventually, after voicing our dismay, the checkout department manager took control and within a matter of hours managed to get ahold of the landlord and release the deposit. DJ Alexander have recently acquired multiple independent letting agencies and are now struggling to keep up with the increased workload which is now at the detriment of the appalling service they provide. Avoid, if at all possible, although it now looks as though if you want to rent in Scotland you’ll need to deal with DJ Alexander. Worrying times ahead for the Scottish rental market.
