I received an ad from Tackle direct 2 different times that the Fate rod was on sale. I wanted the medium action and attempted to purchase it both times. Both times it wasn't available (why advertise it??). The 2nd time I purchased the medium heavy version, as I could use that for stripers in the nearby lakes. I received a rod with a broken guide. When I 1st attempted to make contact with Tackle Direct to report the rod with a broken guide, I received a reply that they would make contact within 2 business days. * business days later I had not heard from them so I attempted to make contact again. This time I got a reply and return shipping label. Refund only-no replacement.

The only reason there is not a higher rating is I received no reply to a customer service inquiry/dissatisfaction. Essentially, I ordered a St.Croix Legend Extreme and it arrived without the customary rod sleeve that they have always shipped with. I have been satisfied with Tackle Direct in the past. I like their transparency regarding stock items and shipping. I was disappointed not to receive a reply to my email. If I had received a reply, the rating would likely have been a 4. Just curious why A $440 rod was shipped without a sleeve. Was looking for a response is all. I might order from Tackle Direct again, but I might not now, if only because of a lack of response to email. I will gladly edit this rating if I receive a reply.

Thank to get me the out of stock items from my order so quickly. I missed the Striper opening season. But I was able and ready with all the good tools. The virus force me to stay home. My 50 pounder dream was as now so far my bigger trophy. Fish on!!!!

in spite of the s--t hitting the fan all over, these guys did a very good good of getting my very very very important jigs out to me...i have fished my toilet... my pond...my sinks...i lost a jighead in the upstairs one..wifes real pssed..the people next door...his koi pond...landed a beast...but was busted had to release it...hahahah...awesome store great job at a hard time for all...stay healthy

Obviously I'm not the only person with the same unfavorable experience. Placed an order for 2 Penn reels, payment processed and they got paid "then" they informed me it was out of stock 24 hours later..even Walmart lets you know upfront if they don't have an item..they knew. Then I'm told on the phone that they have it, then I received a cancellation email of the order the next day and nothing mentioned about refunding my money $109.. never again ! Took this to my bank and they agreed questionable business practices !! I fully expect a refund.
