The worst of the schemes. It takes a minimum of an hour for them to pick up the phone. The case handler never calls back. They do not follow their own policies & rules. They do not read all the paperwork provided, in particular key documents, such as AST, and do not follow the law of the land in their decision-making. They take ages to respond to emails. I'm transferring all my deposits to a more efficient and professional deposit scheme, that has better response times and case handles that have professional qualifications to do the job for improved standards and that has sufficient staff numbers to do the job.

Very disappointed with this company. I asked them to transfer my tenants deposit into my DPS account so as to have all my deposits in the same place. After about 3 weeks of waiting they sent me an email saying there was a problem in transferring the deposit and it wasn’t protected or held by them. I panicked thinking the deposit was lost or maybe I'd given the wrong account numbers etc. Turns out they just send out a generic email stating a problem when in fact the funds are in the process of being transferred. So poor communication.

I have been a professional landlord for fourteen years and in this time I have looked after my tenants very well. The first time I have a dispute concerning the condition of a property My Deposits sided with the tenant - I asked for part of the deposit but not all of it in order to repair a shower (which has been rendered inoperable twice). I award this company zero and they should be removed form the market place as they obviously didn't look at my detailed report and photographic evidence. They plainly have no idea what they are doing. In the end it cost me £10000 to get my property repaired to the standard to which it was first rented to this tenant, this does not include any charge for labour. The tenant left and had not even cleaned the property and shouted "unfair" at every opportunity. Its a shame as I have always had good working relationships with past and present tenants. I am appalled by the lack of judgement within this company and have now removed my business elsewhere, so Landlords beware this company will not support you fairly. I should stress that I was not asking for costs for labour just parts and materials in order to repair the property to the condition it was in when the tenancy commenced. This company said I was entitled to £97 to fix all the problems the tenant left me. DISGUSTED.

Biased company which favours the landlord. We provided full dated photographic evidence of things we were charged for which were faulty or damaged BEFORE the beginning of our tenancy, but were only refunded part of our deposit. It seems they were trying to strike a balance between keeping the landlord and the tenants happy, rather than being truthful. If we weren't students at the time, I would have taken this further because it is not legal what they did. Your deposit IS NOT protected with this company; do not use them if you have a choice.

Useless company. They have reviewed my dispute with my tenant and came with imaginary outcome which is even worse that the tenant himself. They have just ignored a lots of facts from the information provided. They also have shortage of staff. The process to speak to someone is awful and you will be in the queue each time for over 45m at least.

My complaint to Mydeposits was over the fact that the landlord made me pay for a new carpet when the old carpet was just over 8 years old. I explained in my complaint to Mydeposits that it would be unreasonable to expect me to pay for a new carpet as the lifetime of carpets is only about 8 years or not much more. I also made it very clear that I was *not* remotely disputing the fact that the existing carpet needed to be replaced (or cleaned). Both the landlord and Mydepostis completely ignored my argument here, and made out I was disputing the condition of the carpet. Something I denied time after time after time. So the landlord gets my money. Which seems to me to be an utter disgrace. What is the point of Mydeposits if they simply completely ignore the substance of my complaint? The company is a complete and total disgrace.

Useless company, avoid if you can. I am a landlord. I forgot my login details. The system is so dreadful that it doesn't let you change passwords. It asks you for your "memorable word" to change password. If you cannot remember your password, how are you going to remember your memorable word? It's like asking, "what is your password to change your password"? Very stupid. If you try calling, the automated system cuts you off unless you know what your membership number is. You then try chat, which takes a long time, and they are dismissive and don't care at all, and make you go through multiple hoops. This is just for access. I dread to think what this company would be like if I have issues with my tenants. Just avoid this nightmare of a company.

If I could give them a no star I would. Moved out of the property in august and still waiting on my deposit back! Being passed from person to person and still get nowhere. On the phone for an hour to be cut off, on the chat there’s these same two people each time and say they cant help it’s not their department.. very rude and one ended the chat while I was still talking. They say people will be in touch and they never do so ring up/ go on the chat to speak to someone else and get the same people and be told the same thing about being contacted another day and still nothing! 2 months and still no deposit! Absolute joke!

I am currently waiting for my deposit from this company after four months of raising a dispute against the landlord. I have constantly had to chase them and always get there are experiencing high volume of calls message as standard. I believe they hold onto the deposit as long as possible, because if it is in their bank, they can gain interest on a group of money from a lot of people and it becomes a revenue for the company. This is why their response time is really slow. I think this company needs investigating and reporting to trading standards.

Little slow to respond to emails but otherwise can't fault the process. Just got my full deposit back after landlord ignored all requests for it back so the system works. Seems most of the negative reviews are from landlords who can't scam tenants anymore thanks to these deposit schemes.

The women I spoke to on the phone was very rude to me. We had put a claim in, within the last two weeks and because I had some personal issues that I had to deal with, I missed the deadline by a few days. I let the lady on the end of the phone know this is why it had taken longer to reply to their email. Regardless of if they felt sympathy for me, this is very poor customer service and would not recommend.

Extremely slow at responding to emails and when I requested more information from them about some forms they wanted to fill in, they didn't respond and then decided to shut the case after 10 days.

Avoid at all cost if your a landlord. Lots of evidence provided including detailed photos taken of damages caused by the tennants to my property. An outside agency evaluated the damage and quoted a total of £4300 too fix all damages. Lots of evidence provided to My Deposits in the form of before and after photos. Compensation awarded to myself the landlord was £70, which is an absolute insult, the cleaning bill alone amounted to more than 3 times that amount. Still have the smell of Cannabis in the house and splif burn marks in what was a new carpet. I'm now left with a large bill with no help to rectify the damages. We also have the added stress of bailiffs coming to the house due to large debts being owed by the evicted tenants. It's no surprise that landlords are selling up and cashing in property, the stress just isn't worth it.

Be if you are a landlord avoid! My property was left in a shocking condition and still the full deposit was paid to the tenant. Even after several email's was exchanged with various quotes, photos and even letter's from estate agent's saying what condition the property was in before and after.

Do not use mydeposits. Despite compelling evidence in my dispute, it sided with the tenant who left my property in a very poor state. The tenant provided no evidence to parts of my claim, yet the adjudicator sided with him.

Their software is just so confusing. It was too complex to set up the acceptance of our deposit return. I wouldn't use it if I need to rent a flat in the future.

- Took over 3 months and had horrible engagement throughout - Posted pictures of another tenants dispute as supposed evidence from my landlord (which i think might be a gdpr breach) - impossible to get hold of - Gave advice to dispute whole deposit depsite only some being disputed by landlord which delayed my money by 3 months

Awful - if I could give them minus 100 I would Very long wait times, no responses to online email enquiries or the reponse is not relevant and have call up again and wait for ages while be charged for the phone call. Complaints form not updatable online. My tenants did not pay the last couple of weeks rent in August as they have done a number of unautherised things in the rental property - put up mdf in front of fire places, put up cabinet on new tiles, painted tiles in toliet different colour the list goes on anyway I choose to ignore all this and just need my rent for the two weeks in August - the tenants have not responded but say they have never had any correspondence from my deposts and completely hopeless to try and sort out no one picks up the phone or will respond. I thought I would try them after using another deposit place for years these are terrible, the customer service awful - I do not recommend and the sage still goes on.
