United Kingdom | 17 July 2024Half the pages won't load properly. It's been six weeks now and I'm still struggling to get a deposit back. I've started a single release request, but the info on the release is wrong and it won't let me amend it at all. If you click on amend it just goes to a blank page. Seems to work great if you're a landlord though, as my landlord had no problem getting her share of the deposit.

United Kingdom | 09 July 2024We have been members of mydeposits for years and I must say that Beckie, Danika and Armani are AMAZING on the live chat and have been such lifesavers and are so efficient and quick to respond and help!! I just wanted to give them the recognition that they deserve! Their customer support and service is incredible and I hope that they are awarded for this.

United Kingdom | 09 July 2024Avoid at all costs! Agreement made between myself & landlord over 6 weeks ago re. deductions, yet still my deposit has not been returned. Landlord has received their deductions payment after 4 weeks. Every time I speak with Customer Service (tel, email AND chat) I am fobbed off with excuse after excuse, told my account details are wrong when they are not. Then told it will be passed to accounts and nothing happens. I am totally fed up of this scam company and would advise anyone to steer clear.

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024I acted for a family member who had received awful service as a tenant from Reeds Rains (Wilmslow). Due to Lavinia's poor dealing with the landlord, the deposit was held back beyond the miserly 3 months from vacating which is the expiration of any 'protection' through mydeposits. Mydeposits then refused to raise a dispute! Thankfully I managed to get assistance from a Director in the Reeds Rains group who got mydeposits to open up a dispute and 86% of the deposit was returned, but over 10 months since vacating. We then pursued the remainder through dispute. So many hoops to jump through, with the onus being on the tenant to argue why their deposit should be returned. The landlord presented a clearly fake invoice for exactly the disputed amount! The company didn't exist around Wilmslow and their logo had been pulled from the Facebook account of a cleaning company in Alabama, USA. This was ignored by mydisputes. We then appealed and mydeposit's response was "it is outside of the remit of the scheme and the adjudicator to police documentation where it is claimed to be fraudulent." It was quite apparent that mydeposit's business model is to hold onto deposits and not to remind tenants when 3 months are approaching from vacating as then its easy admin with no dispute..

United Kingdom | 25 June 2024I get an email stating the deposit is coming my way in full within 5 days then to tell me it will be in by the Wednesday then to be told my landlord has put in evidence 2 days late of the 14 days now the case has been back opened I think your company should be ashamed of them self lied to on so many occasions

United Kingdom | 15 June 2024DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They kept my deposit for 2.5 weeks when it should have been returned within 5 business days. I had, by some miracle, managed to secure a new flat. I'm on disability benefits and one beds are very rare in my area. If it wasn't for my friend getting angry and complaining to Mydeposits on my behalf I would have lost the flat due to having no deposit and been homeless. I would have been in emergency housing. I called and used the online text support 4 times. Each time they stated there was a problem with my card, which was untrue, and that my deposit would be released to me in 3 working days, this also didn't happen. I was also told I would be emailed a timeline and this didn't happen. It was only once my friend called and got angry with their service was my deposit given back. This was done in under 24 hours and on the card they kept saying there was a problem with. Proving they lied every time I spoke to them. It appears to be company policy to fob people off and keep your money for as long as possible. I'm a vulnerable person in a vulnerable position and they couldn't have cared less.

United Kingdom | 14 June 2024As a tennant they are horrific. Hoops to jump through and expect onus to be on tennant to prove something, surely logic states landlord should be proving their false claims. The admin involved is designed to put off disputes by tennants If your deposit is protected by them just don't pay rent for the last few months and protect it yourself

United Kingdom | 30 April 2024Deposit protection is a legal minefield and nobody wants to have to deal with the consequences of getting it wrong. Thank you, Sarah, for being so helpful and providing such clear and practical advice and taking all the stress out of this process.

United Kingdom | 23 April 2024I am writing this as a Landlord Please Do Not Use this company as it Totally sides with the tenants and Not the landlord . All i ask is for My tenant to pay there Rent and leave the property the way they got it . Both were Ignored and £2500 in rent arrears & property requiring £2000 plus to bring back up to Rentable conditions they award the Tenant 22.5% of the deposit back and i receive the rest . Thankfully The Judge in Court ruled in my favour for the full amount of rent arears over 48 months (Principal and not the money ). This company has Not made the correct decision so please steer Clear !

United Kingdom | 05 April 2024I am writing to share an outstanding experience I had today while dealing with an error on one of my deposit certificates. Nic, a remarkably helpful and friendly Scottish lady, went above and beyond to assist me. Her expertise not only resolved the issue but also turned the entire process into an enjoyable one. Nic’s warmth and professionalism truly stood out. I am so impressed that I have decided to remain loyal to Mydeposits. The level of customer service Nic provided is unparalleled. Not only did she address the initial error, but she also guided me through registering another deposit seamlessly. Nic is an absolute asset to your team. Thank you for maintaining such high standards of service. I look forward to future interactions with Mydeposits, knowing that exceptional assistance awaits.

United Kingdom | 05 April 2024I had to give one star as that was the lowest I could give - I would have given lower if I could. Have been using MyDeposits for several years to hold our tenant’s deposit as we are a private landlord. Had to use their Dispute Resolution Service as our exiting tenants didn’t like the fact that we had withheld some of their deposit to pay to replace nearly brand new carpets after they had left iron burn marks on three bedroom carpets in prominent positions - thus ruining them. Their own submitted evidence admitted that they had burnt the carpets & yet the Dispute Resolution Service found in their favour & repaid their withheld deposit back to them. This company is so tenant biased it is untrue & I would never give them my business again. I would advise that you consider this seriously before depositing your tenant’s deposit with them.

United Kingdom | 26 March 2024Communication was dreadful to non-existent, mainly pro forma responses that did not address the issues. Totally biased to the tenant, unsatisfactory in all respects
