We received an incorrect order.. I spent the next two weeks trying to get the the right order delivered! Obviously TOOL-NET made a mistake on putting our order together (mistakes happen!) After eventually contacting someone by phone and then email we were told that nothing more could be done until they had received the order back and then a new order placed! We are trying to run a business so obviously found this service EXTREMELY un-helpful! Finally I had to collect the correct order from a depot 15miles from our business (now almost 2 weeks from original order date)after poor communication from TOOL-NET as to the expected delivery date!!

I have been using tool-net.co.uk for around 6 months now and have found them to be by far the cheapest UK based tool and building supplier by a long way. They often have offers on and extra discounts for members aswell. Delivery as been slow a couple of time but they have always delivered the good and correct order each time.

Bought transformer online, paid for it and for the delivery option suggested. Then was given a call and said that I have to pay extra £22 for delivery as it was too heavy for the option suggested on the website. Refused, still waiting for refund for over a week.

Back in August, I was in desperate need for some more tools in my ever expanding workshop. After talking to a few friends and searching the internet, Tool-Net seemed like the place to be. This was based on their low prices and fairly easy to navigate website. When browsing I realised that shipping had to be paid for. This was odd considering a lot of competitors offers free shipping on many items. This being said, a pop up alerted me that I had free shipping on 1 order. This pop up eventually sold me the deal. Pillar drill, check. Adjustable wrench, check. Clamps, check etc. I was originally told it would take 3-5 working days to get the delivery. This didn't happen. I chased them via their customer services and was politely told that the products had a delay travelling between their goods warehouse and their dispatch warehouse. This annoyed me slightly at the time as I really needed the tools to get cracking on a project. Due to their swift customer service, and reassurance, looking back at the situation, I am happy overall. Granted I waiting around 8 working days for my order. Yet, shipping was free, the prices were great and all the tools on the order have made my life a lot easier since then. I am currently planning another order with Tool-Net, others should do the same!

The tools may be good and cheap but customer service sucks, one item on the order had been priced incorrectly on the internet, I refused to pay the extra (wasn't much but it's the principle) they would not even agree to give me a small discount, so cancelled entire order, 6 weeks later, still waiting for refund ! Lots of excuses but no refund. Cheapest isn't always the best !! Customer service is important too

On 1st January I ordered and paid for by PayPal a Silverline 974451 Wet & Dry vacuum cleaner. My order, which included a delivery charge, was acknowledged by (automated) email the same day. I chose Tool-net because their prices were lower than their competitors, although once the delivery charge was added that gap narrowed. I now realise that this is a deliberate ploy to secure customers who, if their experience is anything like mine, will come to regret their decision. Tool-net’s website says ‘Please allow 3-5 working days for this delivery option (Excludes Weekends and Bank Holidays). However, most orders are delivered next day using this option.’ As I had heard nothing more by Thursday 5th January, I emailed to enquire about progress. Because the order status was still showing ‘payment authorised’, but with no mention of despatch, I threatened to cancel my order in the absence of timely delivery. In reply I was informed that as they re-opened after their Christmas break on 3rd January, my order was ‘due to be with you Monday/Tuesday at the latest.’ No apology was made or excuse given for the delay. My order has still not arrived and it’s now the evening of the 10th, six working days later. Instead, I have been notified that the item has been despatched today, with a tracking link, and will be delivered by UKMail. But on opening the link, to try to find out when my order will be delivered, it shows ‘No results found’. So whether the item I bought and paid for nine days ago actually comes tomorrow is highly conjectural, especially in view of a number of unfavourable comments on this carrier’s service. Given that Tool-net’s business hours are Monday – Friday 10am to 4pm, and their evident lack of concern at the delay, I shall not be using them again. In the competitive world of trade suppliers there’s no room for nine-to-fivers, when other more well-established companies offer reliable next day delivery as a matter of course

Absolute joke of a company. I ordered a makita twin drill pack just after Christmas for 213 excluding vat. After not hearing from them for a week and seeing delivery should be 3 - 5 working days I tried to contact customer services to find out where my order was. As per a lot of comments on this website nobody came back to my email and nobody picked up the phone. I have since had an email from toolnet asking me to pay an extra 52.56 to get my drills as they ran out of stock on the offer price and are trying to charge me the higher price. The customer service team here are awful are have offered no solution to the problem. I have refused to pay the extra money for my drills as a matter of principle. Tool net should offer the original price they charged me. They have even had the cheek to go into the invoice I first received and change it to show a higher price. The lady from customer service has refused to sell me the drills at the lower price as it means no margin for the company. I'm writing this to warn people of the scan that is happening. James

Tried to return an item, but got an answerphone, filled in a return form on their website but got no reply. Eventualy had to get credit card company to contact them and do a charge back. Toolnet replied to this review. I called them, but still got the answerphone. I emailed them with our phone number. No reply yet.

Very disappointing. Impossible to contact by phone. Misleading shipping charges. Waiting for a refund from the 9th December? Have sent reminder second e mail re refund and no reply. Don't buy from this site.

Placed order and used a discount offer which was emailed to me, refused to release goods unless I paid more money as apparently I was not eligible for the discount offer. The offer was sent to me via email and allowed the discount to be added to the basket prior to paying for goods. I understand from your email I did not meet the criteria as only for repeat customers. But if not eligible for the discount it should not have allowed me to apply it and then pay for goods. I refused to pay the extra £20 so they have cancelled order and told me got to wait 3-5 days for refund now as well. If your system allowed the order to be placed and PAID for with the discount applied goods should be supplied, not use it to try and get more money due to system error allowing a NEW customer to use an existing customer only discount. Revise you website rules please. Was buying as a Christmas Present and know got to wait 3-5 days for refund to be able to buy elsewhere (xmas is 5 working days away thank you).

After doing some serious searching on Google I finally settled with Tool-Net whose prices came up consistently the best. Even now when I go looking for a tool chest, Tool-Net is coming up far cheaper than the competition & that's delivered. I always go searching for the best price and I always end up at Tool-Net so they get a thumbs up from me.
