Value for money, depending upon what time you play you could get over 30 rounds of golf with the basic package.

I joined the playmore golf membership to take advantage of the flexible style of membership being able to play more courses in my area. One of the courses in my area (Girton) although advertised is not taking bookings from playmore golf away members anymore which is a little disappointing. I hope some flexibilty will be shown if members are unable to use all their points in a year due to lockdown restrictions. My home club the Cambridge shire is very welcoming and helpful I would recommend playmore golf to anyone in a similar set of circumstances to me regards Matt

Play more golf is a great way to be a member of a golf club at a third of the full member cost! Home and away points enable golf to be played and maintain an official Handicap for entry into competitions. Have a look at the website to see which Golf Club could be your ‘Home’ course.

I've been a member of PMG pretty much since it started and have always had any queries answered promptly and courteously. I think it's a wonderful scheme and am sorry that some members aren't always treated at their clubs as wonderfully as I have been at Wokefield Park and now at my new home club, Hennerton. This week I was warmly welcomed on Flexi Points at Donnington Grove - I have now played at six different PMG courses and have been made to feel really welcome at every one of them. Thank you to everyone involved.

I recently noticed my away points had been deducted as expired. I had believed I had until late November to use them based on a response to a query during the current COVID pandemic. I queried this & was able to advise on a previous contact that verified that position. My points were reinstated without query & within 24 hours that made me feel a valued customer. Joining this scheme has meant I can now play regularly around my job which I wouldn't have done previously. I recommend this as a great way to play regularly & at great value for money. Chris H

Rejoined this year for a 3rd time believing issues I have would change, playmore talk the talk but don't follow up. Have left comments on social sites but they get deleted, only allowing posts that make them look good. Issues always get blamed on the club never taking any responsibility, forgetting that it is playmoregolf that I paid money too. 5 star reviews will soon change mind when they have issues and get nowhere. Gonna lose my points unless renew, cost gone from £325 to £490

Leslee at play more golf was super efficient and extremely friendly and helpful, talked us through the process and all the details with honesty and advice that best suited our needs. Would recommend both her and play more golf to anybody who wants a good value membership option.

I am writing this after reading some reviews where some people have felt some difficulties in their membership with PMG. I thought it would be unfair for me not to share my experience. The difference of experience could be related with involved clubs!! I have renewed my membership with PMG for the fifth time, so have over four years of experience. If I had seen any element of 'scam' I would have not put down my money for the fifth time round! I think this is great option for those looking for value for money. I find it so easy to book a round. I am treated by my home club (Wokefield Park) as a valued member of the club. I am offered regular membership rate for driving range and 10% discount for any purchase from the pro-shop, like other regular members. I have been told that I would be welcomed to play for the club tournaments but I have not taken the opportunity due to my wok schedule. I have played away games in a number of clubs in Berkshire and few in Oxfordshire and was always welcomed everywhere. All the clubs in Berkshire and Oxfordshire differ in terms of points needed for the game at a given slot time slot. It is understandable but never any different from the Point Tariff on the PMG website. I think it is absolutely value for money to have ease of booking and opportunity to play at other courses economically. One problem I have experienced is the inability to cancel a booking on-line and restoring your points. I have needed to ring PMG. However I have always found them very helpful and promptly resolving it and have only admiration for the staff. I am very satisfied with PMG and happily recommend to friends. Obviously every option does not suite everyone and it could depend upon the expectations. Couple of stories that I have read in the reviews here are of course concerning. I think MPG should look more into these and if some clubs have joined the list with less conviction and the feedback from PMG members from these clubs is consistent, then these clubs should be deleted from the list.

In the current situation PMG seemed a viable cost effective way of keep my golf ticking along during testing times. However the fact remains this is a second class membership option (especially noted if you have enjoyed full club membership) there are a number of restrictions around competitions and tee booking which can be very frustrating. I did have some issues when playing an away venue (Formby Hall - who are a disgrace imo) which did reflect on PMG and the lack of communication when a course is closed - we arrived to be told it was closed and nobody told us, no apology, no alternatives, just a complete shambles and embarrassing especially as I had brought a guest! Thank you to Lisa Holt at PMG who was fantastic in resolving my complaint and for the gesture of goodwill. However I will not be renewing my membership next year and that is along with a couple more PMG members in our group. This is not a membership, it is a pre paid golf booking app/service with varying restrictions from club to club. They advertise the ability to play venues at any times but this is simply not the case. You are not viewed as a member of your home club - in my case I have never even been issued a tag or membership card! My advise would be to join a club as a full member on any level that suits your preferences. You will then feel valued for your spend.

MIS-SELLING, MUST READ IF CONSIDERING SUBSCRIBING! I feel PMG are MIS-SELLING the subscription, you don't get what is advertised on the PMG website. For the club I subscribed to, the PMG website indicates tee times will be unavailable on Saturdays only, however I've been unable to play (the club manager refused PMG members to book manually via the phone too) Tues, Sats & Suns (between 7:30am to 2:30pm) since subscribing (June). PMG weren't aware of being unable to play on Sundays (or Tues), after they investigated with the club manager, PMG responded by referring to T&Cs, section 17, which in summary states PMG & the club can alter the course availability as they wish (i.e. can make the course unavailable as & when they wish throughout the subsciption), this subscription has turned into a 4 day membership (weekdays only), which is no use to someone who works 9-5, Mons-Fri! It's been a couple of months of back & forth with PMG customers services, and their final response is that they don't feel the subscription has been mis-sold (because of T&C, s17) & won't offer a refund (nor any sort of reasonable goodwill gesture)! I'm in my right mind to report PMG to trading standards! In response to PMG's comments, the points matrix states which days will be unavailable for PMG members (marked with N/A), therefore it's reasonable to believe days not marked with a N/A would be available to play (this is not the case), and this is the only indication as to when the course will be available for PMG members! PMG did offer 5 free flexi-points as a goodwill gesture, however this isn't sufficient for one round of golf, quite insulting really!

I’ve been with PlayMoreGolf for 12 months now and found the company nothing but helpful over the last year. Makes the ability to enjoy good golf courses for people who aren’t able to play regularly. Word of caution tho pick the right course otherwise some clubs don’t release good tee off times. This isn’t PMGs fault it’s a local club decision. I need to give a special shout out to Rachel Thornton who has been nothing but helpful professional and accommodating with our move to a new club. Not sure if PMG do employee of the month but if so you have a worthy winner. Keep up the good work. Tony aka Gordon

You pay for a set amount of points but then your home club can increase the points you need to play at any time, which devalues the membership.

I was looking for an alternative to spending over £1250 membership plus £500 joining fee at my local course when I stumbled over play more golf. Leslee got in contact after I filled in an enquiry and she has been great, no pushy sales, straightforward explanation of how everything works and what the costs are. She got me a great option to pay a fraction of the cost (I still have change from the joining fee alone) have all of the benefits and certainly enough points to be able to play as much if not more golf as I would be likely to. I can always buy more points with my savings if I play more! Let’s just hope my rounds improve!
