I spent ages trying to find the right coat, and eventually decided on a Barbour San Jorge. So far so good. But then the cuff split due to a manufacturing defect. I contacted Barbour and they said they no longer have stock of that item, but offered me an £8.80 refund (insulting - that wouldn't have covered the cost of the repair). I declined, so then they offered me £137 to choose an alternative, which seemed like a good offer. However, all the jackets in that price range were 'horsey' designs and I was specifically after a 'biker' design. I then found a jacket (Avalon) that was almost identical to my original San Jorge. It was advertised on the House of Fraser website for £139 (but inexplicably the same jacket was on the Barbour website for £199?). I emailed Barbour and asked if I could pay the £2.00 difference from the £137 they offered me and the £139 I had seen online. They emailed back and told me they don't price match. So, I ended up having to pay an extra £60 to get a jacket that was almost identical to my original one, and many emails to and fro. I packaged up my defective San Jorge (irritated because I was also losing the money I had spent on Nik-waxing it) and trudged to the Post Office. A week later, my replacement jacket arrived. Except it wasn't my replacement jacket. It was a totally different jacket. I contacted Barbour customer support AGAIN, and explained that it was the wrong jacket. They replied, and sent me a returns label. So yet again, I am scrabbling around for packing materials, and have another trudge to the Post Office. My biggest bugbear in this whole saga is that Barbour were the ones who supplied me with a defective item, and yet I am the one who is out of pocket (paying extra for a replacement, loss of Nikwax treatment), all the lost time trying to sort it out with emails back and forth, and then having to trudge to the Post Office twice. Barbour - if you've cocked up, at least have the decency to own it, and do everything possible to rectify it without making the customer's life a right pain.

Ich habe mir im Dezember 2022 einen Barbour Winter Steppmantel gekauft. Zuerst war ich begeistert da er wirklich bequem ist und warm hält. Ich denke man kann erwarten das Wintermäntel in dieser Preiskategorie Feuchtigkeit fern halten. Nach ein paar Schneeflocken hatte ich bereits feuchte Schultern. Sehr enttäuschend, ärgerlich und anscheinend keine gute Qualität wenn so schnell die Schultern feucht werden.

I have just got my Border coat back from a service. Superb job, coat looks the same as when I bought it over 30 years ago. Just shows what continued family ownership can do !

I would not but a Barbour waxed jacket again. It is a dust magnet and makes it look like a cheap pair of jeans. I was advised to wear it more but this made no difference. On a positive note I changed the size without issue and was refunded swiftly.

Product is excellent, return is easy, but refund service is terrible. It is now nearly 2 months still waiting for the final amount. Total headache. I will buy Barbour product but not through their online shop. I used John Lewis and my refund was in my account 3 days after it was confirmed.

I had to call Barbour as I had a faulty quilted coat. Lynne and another member of the Barbour Customer Service Team have been so helpful on all 3 occasions that I have called. I can't fault them at all. Although I am very disappointed that my coat has now been discontinued they have agreed to send me a replacement. I can't thank them enough as this was a special present.

I've seen reviews slagging of barbour customer service, but in my case they were very helpfull. I purchased chelsea type Barbour wellingtons that split,(ok they should not split) so I contacted Barbour customer service, sent all infomation with pictures they requested. The boots were replaced with a pair of my choice. I would give 5 stars, but the boots split, for service and help.

I am a dog walker who relies on quality wet weather gear. Having been a loyal customer for many years I can no longer support this company. They are now just glorified fashion items and not fit for everyday use. Within a year my jacket showed signs of wear with many holes in the sleeves and other high wear areas. My last one lasted 10 years this didn't last a year. Barbour reluctantly agreed to ' repair it' replacing a panel on each sleeve which did not match the original. To be fair once it had worn in after a few months the colours matched better but again you can still tell. However within another year or so the holes have reappeared. Barbour told me after the first repair I would have to pay for any subsequent repairs as it was now outside their warranty period. You don't expect a 300 pounds jacket to last less than a year. It gets little used during the warmer months so is used less than 6 months a year. If you just want a nice looking jacket for the odd walk it will be fine but they're no longer the heavy duty work horses they once where. Now sadly just a poor imitation.

First off the sizings are way out and don't even match between different models. In the vast majority of jackets I am XL. Here is the history: - XL - Corbridge - Too much of slim fit ( in fairness the website mentioned in small print - MA Griggs stockist) Said to go a size up. Returned and reordered XXL XXL - Corbridge - Then way too long in arms ! Returned XL Sapper Read the Sapper model more true to fit and ordered an XL- Outcome too big !! Too wide at shoulders- Returned to Charles Hobson Stockist - No L is stock went back to MA Grigg. L fits fine !! Most jackets fit me are XL. THEN - the jacket has a fault, cannot return as I want the jacket, the price was good and the sheer hassle as this would be the fourth time ! Also, could be hard to find an L again. £16 to repair a over sized sleeve. Quite shocking overall for a so called premium brand.

Ordered a shirt that was too small even though reading the size guide over and over was certain it would fit. Measured the shirt when it arrived and was 4 inches out of what it said it would be. Sent it back for a refund and it has been almost 4 weeks, numerous emails chasing up my refund and I’m still waiting for my refund. Awful customer service. Last time I’ll use Barbour

Bought a Barbour int coat for Christmas and returned as too big. Have now been waiting 3 weeks for a refund, an email has now arrived saying it will be at least 28 days until a refund is issued!! Dreadful customer service and refund system. Will NOT buy again on line. Am beginning to worry if I will ever get my refund. Do better Barbour!!

I Purchased a Barbour mens zip cardigan. The company promotes themselves as very British and high quality trading on the name. Then I saw a comment about Barbour items being made in CHINA!! So I asked where my item was made. After deliberately trying to make it appear not to be made in China, they eventually conceded that it was made in 🇨🇳CHINA!! You have been warned!

TERRIBLE customer service. I bought a coat as a Xmas present, arrived but was too small, returned to them 27th, they confirmed on 30th they had it. Now they say that the email they sent is not confirmation they received the return despite the email from them having a picture of the items on. I am being fobbed off that they cant return my money for 21 days, that is due to the Royal Mail Strikes/Christmas delays. Well the Royal Mail are nothing to do with this, you have confirmed receipt of the return tracked items. You are the joke here, Trustpilot scores are reflecting your awful Customer Service and appalling responses when contacted to chase up on refunds!!!

I sent my beloved jacket off to be rewaxed. Two moans,it took two months to do and the other the Union jack was filthy and the Barbour emblem. On the other hand i managed to get them clean and it looks as good as new now.

TERRIBLE customer service. I bought a coat on the 9th Jan, arrived 11th, returned to them 13th, they confirmed on 14th they had it. No I am being fobbed off that they cant return my money for 21 days, that is due to the Royal Mail Strikes/Christmas delays. Well the Royal Mail performed, Barbour you haven't. Your customer services has all but said they wont do anything for at least 14 days. They didn't even know it if had been returned - yet you sent me the email!!! Avoid at all costs - buy items elsewhere. Complete joke or a company - reflected by their Trustpilot score!!!!

Their footwear range is unbelievably comfortable..... but! 12 months after use, the soles on pretty much all their shoes and boots come away. I have 3 pairs and my wife has 2 (all varying styles). My redhead chukka boots still haven't even got a mark on the soles, but the side beading has split and come away from the shoe and the sole on one of them has completely separated. Took them to a cobbler, who stated they've been made quite poorly. I would have expected better craftsmanship from a global reputable brand.

I bought a pair of Barbour 'Bede' wellies. They were ok to wear but as soon as I encountered a wet surface, the wellies had absolutely zero grip so I had to use extreme caution when wearing them. I then was unloading an item from a smallish trailer and stood on the grippy aluminium ramp. My foot gave way and I suffered an extremely serious wound to my thumb which I thought I would lose. I wrote to Barbour and told them these wellies were extremely dangerous and not fit for purpose and should be withdrawn from sale but they weren't interested, referring me to their solicitors but I wasn't interested in making a claim, just trying to prevent someone else having a serious accident like me. I alerted Trading Standards but they said it would be extremely expensive to have the boots tested to prove they weren't fit for sale so I had to drop it. I wore them a few times in the garden but they started letting in water and then split on the top of the right boot. These boots are dangerous, AVOID. They are also extremely poor quality, probably made in you know where. I have bought Barbour for many years without issue, they are letting themselves down with these dangerous wellies. Please BEWARE.
