I used Habito when I bought my first property about 5 years ago now. It was so simple to do everything online which allowed me to properly create my mortgage needs thanks to their detailed questionnaire, and especially giving me time to review all their recommendations and assess for myself before making a decision. They are very responsive and if you miss a message, you'll get a notification on your email. 5 years on and I'm again calling out to them for my remortgage and the process hasn't changed one bit. More than never I do appreciate this online process, as it's simple, straight forward and you get an excellent service from them. Everyone I've been dealing with has been so friendly and patient and they really do save me the hassle to hunt for the best mortgage or remortgafe deal. They act as both the advisor and solicitors if you so wish and handle absolutely everything often making it cheaper than alternatives as I found during my journey. Everything can be done online in your own time so there's no need for endless delays or constant back and forth with sending of documents via post. I had a brief interaction with them online, but I found them to be highly unprofessional. They took a quick glance at my credit report and immediately started scaremongering. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear.

Edit: Habito have since provided a refund for most of their fee which is helpful and appreciated. I used Habito Plus following lots of positive reviews online and I wanted it to be good but unfortunately it was not. The initial mortgage offered was good and they were able to get the rate down but they ended up at a point where they were sending one email a week and we had the vendor’s estate agent and solicitor on the phone complaining to us about Habito being so unresponsive. A chain free, new build house purchase took 4 months because of them. They were the bottle neck every step of the way and ended up costing us time and money. Eventually we were emailing multiple times a day and Jigna stepped in and without her I don’t think the purchase would have gone through as our vendor was getting impatient. If the service was better I think we could have got better advice, faster service, paid out less in rent and been able to negotiate a few thousand pound off what we paid. The customer service always responded but were pretty useless as they would just email the conveyancer who you could email yourself anyway. Mostly friendly, occasionally a little patronising. Overall process was a mess, they lost forms, sent us someone else’s form, there was so much uncertainty and we were just ignored on the day we had originally arranged completion. I’m really grateful for Jigna for actually getting it finished and she was working evenings and weekends. I was expecting some kind of apology or fee reduction given all the positive reviews but nothing was offered. In the future I would go with a traditional, experienced solicitor with a physical office, even if it costs a lot more. I would also ask about current workload and completion time. Habito said 8-12 weeks originally.

Third time using Habito (for initial mortgage and then 2 remortgages). Emily and Patricia were both incredibly helpful. Process is smooth, well-explained and can be done online without having to post documents back and forth so would highly recommend them
