United Kingdom | 12 February 2023I found just the car to fit the bill. Cheap `run about' for shopping. Amongst others, one on e-bay at a reasonable price. Clicking on it, the car's details seemed to fit. The car in fact was on sale by `Horsepower' at Tonbridge. I spoke to Danny but the car had to be processed and would not be available for a few days. Due to the fact that to see it meant an 80 mile round trip, he agreed I could see it in a couple of days and he would express the`turn round' In spite of how busy they were, I road tested it OK and the car was fully checked over, valeted and paper work completed in three hours. All this what for them was a low value deal. I was treated as if I was buying a `Rolls'. All the staff were very friendly and the outfit is immaculate with a huge choice of good cars. Luckily for me I found the car through surfing for a specific type. It was on e-bay. If one looks for `Horsepower', the screen is blocked by `cookies' which I do not accept! That is their choice. Many thanks to Danny and the team. Two weeks and we are still pleased with our deal.

United Kingdom | 04 February 2023We highly recommend Horsepower, Tonbridge we purchased our BMW Touring car from Horsepower 2.5 years ago, although we live 44 miles away, we still go to Horsepower for MOT, Servicing, and repairs when required. Definitely worth the drive there, the Staff are absolutely outstanding, they have the best Technicians. We had our car booked in on Wednesday 1st February, the blower/heater had stopped working, the service we received was off the scale excellent. We particularly want to praise and thank Duncan for his outstanding help, extremely efficient, very professional. We had to have a new motor for the heater and one of the Technicians was able to get the part on the same day and went out especially to collect the part, work was all completed on the same day. We cannot emphasise enough how much we appreciated all their efforts and outstanding work. We dont know names of all the staff but they are extremely Professional, polite and helpful and make you feel very welcomed, we are always very well cared for, there is a very comfortable lounge waiting area, TV, warm and supplied with hot drinks. Also, thank you to Danny, he always makes us feel welcome right from day one when we purchased our car, always cheerful, professional and caring. Again, we have so much praise for Duncan who organised booking in our car, while we was in their waiting lounge area, Duncan was absolutely outstanding, he regularly updated us regarding the work progress by the Technicians. They go above and beyond with their Customer Srvice ,Thank you, John & Sally Hampton

Definitely no hard sell. An extended warranty was offered, I said, “No thanks,” and that was accepted with no quibbles and wasn’t mentioned again. Such a relief. Our new car was well priced & when we collected it was tidy and well prepared for us. They even put some fuel in it, which again was a nice surprise. I’m definitely happy to recommend Danny and the Horsepower team. Thanks guys 😁

However, despite the low value of the car, Danny and the team were still attentive and professional. I would certainly use them again!

United Kingdom | 05 January 2023I purchased the car, bmw x5. On the 17th December to pick up on the 23rd December. We exchanged cars ( my mini) and waited for the x5. He explained (danny) that there was a problem with the air bag at the back which pumps up the rear of the car. It needed doing but couldn't do it today. The car was save to drive. So I said OK and I'll bring it back if you can give me a time/ day. The car was not that clean inside, outside couldn't tell because it was raining. When driving home had a clunking front wheel passenger side. Reported this when I got home to your office. Also the washer bottle was empty, which I also reported to the office. Which they couldn't believe because of all the checks you do. They apologise said don't know how that happened. Then when I was driving that night went to put on full beam, there was none. Reported this the next morning. Went through various ways of doing it with Duncan (very helpful man). He said we need to get to the workshop to get these things sorted. Could I bring to workshop, I said no as i live 30 miles away. Anyway it was deemed I get my car I sold to back and you have yours till its fixed. Fine, and the exchange took place. Yet again a very nice man came down, I signed thee paper work saying I'm insured. So what about the road tax, he didn't know. But on investigation, I'm still paying for the road tax, I'm also paying road tax and insurance for the x5 which I'm not using. Do you think that's right. I could go on but I'm starting to get annoyed.

I spoke to Danny several times and he was pleasant, professional, helpful and non pushy. My visit and purchase was very smooth. United Kingdom | 08 December 2022I purchased car from Horsepower that required extensive repairs after 7 months of ownership and 5000 miles of driving. The transfer box failed which I have now fixed at a cost of £2200 to me. The warranty (AA WMS) Horsepower sold me for 12 months was worthless as you have to pay for diagnoses and no local warranty approved garages would carry out that level of diagnosis. The list of fault causes that the warranty would not cover was wear and tear, manufacturing fault, external factors, negligence, lack of maintenance etc. The list went on and on. Clearly they never pay out on anything. At this point with a worthless warranty I contacted Horsepower regarding this fault as such a failure is clearly covered under the consumer Rights Act 2015. The vehicle was clearly not satisfactory quality and fit for purpose given such a large failure after such a short period of ownership and a very low amount of millage done. As well as the transfer box failure the battery was also found to be failing along with a blowing exhaust, a leak from the coolant system and an oil leak. Horsepower's response to me over the course of 6 phone calls over the period of around a week was to say someone would call me back and no-one ever called me back. On the last phone call I was advised to put all the details in an email and after a week I had received no response to my email so I chased up the first email and again received no response. So as a customer with a major problem on a car purchased from Horsepower their response to me was to ignore me completely and hope I would go away. Edit: As an update at one year of ownership further repairs/maintenance to the car added another £1100 to costs for the year. The water pump needed replacing ,a main oil seal and the battery. All 4 tires have also had to be replaced within 7,000 miles of driving. The warranty again was worthless when it came to the repairs. Additionally its comes to light I was lied to by Horsepower when it came to the car having a fresh service as previous service was 2 years prior to purchase and when they told me all advisories from the previous MOT had been fixed that was also a lie as none of the advisories had been addressed. Edit: Well I have a reply now after almost 2 years. This appears to be a the standard we have a bad review lets post a friendly response to try and offset the bad review deal. Horsepower have all my contact details but no attempt other than this review response to ever contact me has been made.

United Kingdom | 26 October 2022This is a revised review. Spoke with Danny for about two days regarding a Range Rover I was in need of a large vehicle for the kids ect. I was anxious as the vehicle had not been prepped nor was there any service history but I proceeded and organized the finance my end and we was good to go. At this point we spoke about warranty and a deposit that I was happy to do but no mention on when to pay the holding deposit. Due to the lack of service history I paid £130 for an independent specialist to come and inspect the car to put my mind at rest Danny was fine with this but yet still no mention of a deposit. The next thing I get is a text from Danny saying the car has now been sold to my surprise so I phoned Danny and wanted to find out more as I thought I was 90% there with the sale. Danny explained and I quote JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS…. Yes I didn’t pay a deposit but my problem is it would have been nice to get a call say we have someone else interested are you? There was no care just another sale gone not a care in the world about people’s circumstances. I then went along to the dealership just ask why and was created by one of the owner who just did not care or and I point out didn’t even try and see if there was something else on site that would fit the bill so I mentioned I will be writing a review because it’s not right and it’s not fair and apparently I was threatening so I left in anger. I work at an online car dealership where one of our key values is customer focused and we bend over backwards to provide outstanding service. I was so angry that people are being treated this way. I’m a fair person but you don’t do that. I don’t mind the car being sold it’s just a car and Il find another one but it would of be more professional and courteous to have been told first. Like I mentioned this is a revised review as I was too angry and my previous review.
