We are property owners and have used one rent for nearly 4 years. This last year their service has become horrible. Our tenants have had 3 maintenance tickets in since September that have not been addressed. I have called and emailed numerous times and received assurances they will get right on it and get back to me and they have done nothing. No communication. We are so unhappy and will not renew

The Onerent team has made the rental process surprisingly easy and efficient via the systems they have in place. Once you start the application process and are accepted you will get set up with a dashboard portal that you make your monthly payments. Onerent’s communication has been great and never an issue trying to get ahold of them. They like to text to keep you updated which is great but they also follow up via email. Application process also pretty straightforward using a DocUSign like program makes signing easy and quick.

After seeing a promising-looking condo rental listed on apartments.com, I called the number associated with the listing. I was answered by a friendly representative who helped me set up a showing for 12:30 the following day. I immediately got a text saying my showing had been booked, but I confusingly also got a second concurrent text stating that I already had a showing booked for that listing and asking me to confirm whether I wanted a second showing of the same place. I was still on the line with the representative, who told me I could safely ignore the second erroneous text, which I did. Fast-forward to 11:30 the day of the showing, and I got a text stating that my showing had been cancelled because I hadn't confirmed my appointment. I immediately called the number, and a representative quickly helped me confirm the showing manually so that it could go ahead as originally scheduled. Slightly before 12:30, both the agent and I arrived at the condo for the showing. The owner of the condo was present and was surprised to see us -- she stated that she had cancelled her contract with onerent three days previously, a full two days before I even scheduled the showing. Clearly nothing is kept up-to-date in the onerent internal system, because nobody was aware of this. Not the field agent who tried to show the condo, not the customer service rep who later called to ask if I would like to reschedule my 'cancelled' appointment, not the system that afterwards texted me asking whether I liked the place I had just 'toured.' Very disappointing!

THIS COMPANY IS GARBAGE. We had a viewing 2 weeks before we moved into our apartment. Leasing agent said they were going to take care of a number of maintenance tasks that needed to be done PRIOR to move in. We asked if we could see the unit a few days before move in, and they said no. Surprise, surpirse, when we moved in, NONE of the tasks had been taken care of. 2 weeks later, after many calls and emails, still nothing has been taken care of, including a fridge that is leaking. They don't answer emails. And every time you call you get a different person, and they act very polite, but never actually resolve your issues. Still haven't had one maintenance person over. These people are con artists. They are super nice and responsive until the second you sign the lease. Then they dissapear.

Team Onerent worked continuously with what I had to offer to find a tenant for my property as fast as possible, they answered all my concerns responding very fast and politely and helped me understand many things to increase my knowledge for future experiences.

I lost out on renting a home, and they kindly offered me 3 similar properties, initially I was impressed. However when I called to see how to get pre approved I was told the next property was already under contract, but would I like to see it anyway? I was appalled! Then when I inquired on Zillow, they said it was available, booked me an appointment for tomorrow. Low and behold I get a message tonight saying it’s gone and cancelling my viewing! Really? They mess people around, and obviously mess landlords around. When you call you are connected with someone who talks English at you, but dosnt understand you. Waste of time, stay away !

Update after OneRent's reply: OneRent listed the property saying "Pets are Okay". OneRent leasing agents assured us that the additional pet deposit would be accepted. OneRent leasing agents assured us that we would be offered a lease by the owners. The "unforeseen circumstances" were that the owners decided to change their mind about cats *after* accepting our first application, and then AGAIN after accepting our offer of an additional pet deposit. Their response is another example of a misrepresentation of this situation. Reasonable unforeseen circumstances like the owners' residence becoming uninhabitable and needing to move into their rental property are one thing. Capriciously deciding to change their mind about an *already accepted* application over pets is not "unforeseen" and is an example of how OneRent refuses to hold owners accountable for their decisions. Additionally, I was did "discuss" this issue with a manager who was able to share with me an alternative property that was smaller, in a worse location, and was more expensive. I did not consider this a viable option. Original review below... Short version: OneRent lies about the listed prices, posts inaccurate information about pets, will suddenly rescind an "owner approved" verbal offer to rent, and claims to "fully manage" properties but still has to check with an owner about every little thing. You cannot trust them to treat you with respect as a tenant. OneRent promises a seamless renting experience for renters and landlords but falls very, very, very short. Their listings are inaccurate, they'll promise you the owner has approved your application but at the last second they'll rescind the offer to rent. Every time you call you get the same agent (that's nice) but the agent has no actual power and has to go back and forth between some other property manager (why can't we just talk to the property manager directly?) and the owner meaning every little bit of discussion or negotiation takes days. At one point our "agent" went on vacation and all of our calls starting going to voicemail, despite having been approved over five days previously. Finally, because it's all online, you're expected to pay this new tech company thousands of dollars in fees and deposits without ever meeting in person or exchanging keys. Here are the specifics of our case: We applied to a property listed in Oakland CA for $3650. After applying our OneRent agent called us to tell us the owner had decided to raise the rent to $3850 because of "renovations" The listing had only been posted 10 days previous to our application so I doubt that the renovations worth a $200/month increase happened in the last 10 days. We loved the place and it was still in our budget so we agreed. Our application is marked as "owner approved". OneRent tells us that the property is "fully managed" by OneRent. We go over all the fees (including an advertised and discussed $1000 pet deposit for our two cats). Then our agent goes on vacation. After waiting 4 days we are finally able to get in touch with a new agent who tells us the owner has changed their mind and is rescinding the offer because of the pets (The listing still says cats and small dogs are allowed). We counteroffered with an increased pet deposit which we were told be Onerent the owner had accepted. We have a recording of a Onerent leasing agent saying "you will have a lease within the week". We have screenshots of our application on Onerent's website saying "owner approved". Finally, after days of Onerent's leasing agents ignoring our calls and claiming they couldn't get in touch with the owners we were again told that the owner would be rescinding their approval and would not select our application. I don't understand how any of this behavior is acceptable and given the "owner approved" verbal offer we had to start the leasing process on this property we backed out of applications we had out to other properties in the area that we were interested in. This may be the owner's fault for being unreasonable but OneRent is "fully managing" the property and since the only people we talked to and interacted with over this was OneRent I hold them fully responsible for the run-around, as well as the extremely scummy behavior of taking all of our financial information and *after* seeing our income statements raising the rent $200/month. A final note: We don't hold the Agents at all responsible. They were all very kind to us and did their best to help us reach a satisfying conclusion with the owner. They had no power to hold the owner accountable, and every discussion had to be further run through a property manager that we could not talk to directly. Unfortunately since OneRent doesn't seem to vet listings, require owners to stick to their word, or have any other safety checks to ensure that tenants aren't put in the position we were put in, we were *all* failed by the abysmal system OneRent has designed. Stay. Away.

Gave two sets of keys (instead of the standard one set of keys) to ensure no more misshaps when they give tours of my apt to prospective tenants. Lo and behold, onerent brings a prospective tenant with no keys to the building looking for a lockbox that never existed. In the end, tour was cancelled and the tenant signed a lease elsewhere. Another opportunity lost courtesy of onerents sloppiness, lack of communication and unprofessionalism. Stay away.

We scheduled a viewing of a property few days prior to the day of the viewing. They sent me a confirmation text a day prior, which I responded and confirmed. We show up at the property 5min before the showing time and no one is there. I call Onerent 5min after to make sure someone is on their way. It turns out they cancelled the viewing without any notification to my text. The person I spoke with on my phone was friendly and tried to help me by rescheduling the viewing but I was over it. My morning wasted.

OneRent has been absolutely the worst rental company you could possibly imagine. I rather be punched in the face than have to ever deal with them again. I am going through a rough time with my current living situation and OneRent has not lived up to their responsibilities as being a logical intermediary that resolves disputes. They have disregarded my complaints and made me feel like I do not matter in the grand scope of things. Goodluck dealing with Eden, she is more useless than the left turn symbol on a BMW. Seriously, I do not know what they got hired to do but clearly customer service and helpfulness is not their strong point nor can I see what they are good for. Stay far away and look for better options, trust me.

Don't use Onerent and avoid this company in all cost! First, Onerent promised to list the property on partner websites. However, when the property was listed on Onerent on 10/30/2019, the listing wasn't on any other sites. I had to call out to my listing manager, D.M, to address this issue. It took another 7 days for it to show up in Zillow. Onerent is incompetent in syncing data. Second, I live in Texas and have to fly to Seattle area to attend the property walk-through. I have spoke to D.M on 10/30 that the property walk-through could only happen on 11/08. After that, the timeline on Onerent indicated that the walk-through was scheduled at 12PM on 11/08. However, D.M did not really scheduled the walk-through until 11/07 when I texted him to confirm the appointment. That was only one day before 11/08. Also, there was a showing scheduled on 3PM on 11/08. Because of D.M's incompetence in coordinating between property walk-through and showings, the showing on 11/08 had to rescheduled to the following Saturday, which no one showed up and I lost several potential renters. Third, the maintenance team called me about fixing painting defects on walls because the property walk-through reports indicated so. I told the maintenance team to leave it as it is. However, because there were two showing feed backs mentioned about the painting defects, I asked D.M to contact the maintenance team to give me an estimate. Daryl emailed me back asked me for the photos of the defects. The property walk-through report should have the pictures. This means Daryl haven't even read the walk-through report. My property is a popular one. Because of D.M's incompetence, there are lots of time wasted. I will never use Onerent in the future. After I have talked to them, they changed me to another property manager. The new property manager is awesome but Onerent leasing department itself is not following strict rules. There is an applicant who refused Onerent to do a hard credit check and endorsed the applicant. Since Onerent already lost trust to me, I searched through public records and realized the applicant has filed a bankruptcy back in 2011. The debtors are clearly landloards. This is a red flag but Onerent failed to obtain such information, which is supposed to be in credit report. I talked to Onerent and the person who answered the phone tried to make any execute he could to kick the ball back to me. He even mentioned "Do you know how many years we have been doing this?" I replied, "Yes, there have been negative reviews as long as the number of years you have been in business". He was speechless. I am completely disappointed with Onerent now. Please do not try to save money and find a rental management company who is familiar with local areas

I’m the property owner Onerent solicited me for a rental expressing they had clients that were Pre qualified and able to rent. I responded with questions: which property? How are you compensated.... and nothing. Just another tech startup that thinks they need to reinvent the wheel by adding computer algorithms and magically that will make everything more efficient. Good luck with that.

I think they’re based in the Philippines? I mean I’m Filipino myself and all the representatives that I’ve spoke to seems to all be Filipinos. ANYWAYS. I had an appointment yesterday in Hayward, CA at 2:00pm. Drove an hour in traffic and got there with 5 minutes to spare. Walked to the front door by 1:59pm. Comes 2:00pm, I emailed Jann from OneRent and noticed there’s a phone number to reach him. Basically their general hotline (408)- 809-0998. The person who picked up asked what I’m calling for. I asked for Jann, regarding my appointment for 2:00pm, told him the specific property address. And all I get is, “okay, so what’re you calling for?”. At this point, I’m slightly annoyed. So I had to repeat myself and specifically asked to speak to JANN. “Can I place you on a brief hold?” And I said “Sure”. 1 minute later he tells me “he’s off today”. Okay, well, where the f was my notice? And why would he schedule a damn appointment at that specific date and time? And all the representative can say was sorry. And I’m like ok, whatever. My partner and I left the place. 10 minutes later I got a text to reschedule, and this time it’s a property in Seattle, WA. Like seriously? How unorganized are you guys? Honestly, I can’t trust this organization or whatever t f this group is. Good luck if you actually trust these “five star reviews” lol.
