Beyond horrible experience! I thought it was only me who had a beyond awful experience with this management company, but then I went on line and saw that they receive bad reviews from MANY people! I have been kicked out of my home by a developer who is tearing down a beautiful duplex I have lived in for ten years. I needed to find another place to live. I am an excellent tenant, have great credit, a great job etc. I had fallen in love with a home that was advertised online before Onerent was even involved. The home was close to where I live and I drove by there many times, spoke with the workers on a daily basis. Unfortunately the home was "being managed by Onerents." I filled out an application online right away and was the first applicant. I fulfilled all the requirements they required online, received a great credit score etc. Even though I kept calling to follow up with them, I never received a call back and my experience was extremely impersonal and evasive, at best. I tried calling them many times and was often transferred to a person who sounded like they were in India or The Phillipines. I did everything they asked for, was first in line, I received no communication from anyone and it seems like all they wanted was my "uploaded documents." Everything was over the computer and extremely impersonal. When I followed up again today, I came to find out that even though I was the first in line and had uploaded all the documents that they wanted, that they had leased the property to SOMEBODY ELSE! I called a supervisor to complain. They also seemed rote and impersonal with me and I was incensed! When I tried finding Onerent on Yelp tonight, they didn't come up. When I googled them I found out that LOTS of people have had the SAME experience! Then strangely I received a call today from someone saying they wanted to give me a home loan. I think this company might be trying to find vulnerable people who will get a loan from them. Now I have the CREEPS! Onerent is shady! Landlords and tenants- stay away!

If you are a property owner and are considering using this company - please read. You are playing russian roulette not just with your property, but also with your community. You are risking lawsuits from neighbors and major fines if the property is in an HOA. This company rented a resident's lovely townhome in the LA area WITHOUT MEETING the tenants. They won't provide proof that they even ID'd the tenants who were given the keys. The owner was told a father and child were moving in. Nope. It was a network of criminals. They used the unit to do everything from sell/manufacture drugs to transport prostitutes to fixing cars all night long, to parking their cars illegally all over the community to surveilling the traffic at the front gates. Neighbors were considering selling, suing, you name it. HOA has been pushed to its limits by this. The owner was (and still is) at risk of multiple lawsuits and fines in the tens to hundreds of thousands. When they first moved in, Onerent was unreachable for weeks. Eventually, they claimed they sent a field rep out to 'investigate'. A flat out lie. They issued a letter to the owner that the "issue had been resolved". It was only about to get worse. Imagine if this was your property. This situation isn't unique to the company. An employee admitted an uncannily similar situation took place in San Diego... you can also read it happened in Berkeley. This company will claim they are doing background checks, but so what?? If they filling properties with people they aren't meeting or ID'ing - then what difference does the background check make if it's fraud?? You simply can't use automation for this. The company doesn't care about the community they've screwed - they won't file an eviction based on this fraud. They will wait months until (and unless) the tenants don't pay rent. Anyone know how long an eviction takes in California based on nonpayment of rent? Up to 9 months!!! It's not just the owner this affects. What are the neighbors supposed to do in the meantime? Or after their area has been put on the map with these professional tenants? They can sue, move, get attacked/robbed by the tenants/visitors, be exposed to toxic contamination from illegal substances and vapors from the auto garage... or all four. If Onerent responds to this review, I promise you the response is BS. I have no other motive than to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. The company in prior reviews on BBB claims it's learning and growing... no. The leaders have zero scruples. They sleep very well at night while little children are forced to live with the results of their negligence. The failure of this company likely won't have any effect on them. They'll move on to the next thing they can raise millions of dollars for... let's just hope it's something that can't ruin innocent people's lives like this one. Onerent needs to be investigated by the Attorney General's office - they are putting entire communities at risk with their negligence.

I am terribly concerned about the integrity of this company. The deal seemed reasonable and straightforward that they would help me find a tenant for my place for which I would pay them 1/2 of first month's rent. Right after signing the contract, the company seemed only interested in collecting data such as social security number, keys for the building (even though I had a temporary electronic code to give), photos of serial number and make of the appliances in the unit (although I had not hired them for continued property management). They did not make any effort to take marketing photos, although that was included in the contract. When I inquired on the status/progress, they relayed that they are not receiving traction due to the price point and pushed me to lower the price (which was set at a competitive price). At which point, I escalated stating that they had not made any efforts to market my property - no photos had been put up by them and they had pushed to sites with a long description of the property full of grammatical errors/spelling mistakes. First time I escalated (it was with a sr. financial analyst), who did not address the issue and terminated the call stating that nothing can be done since he was the manager and that I should go ahead and pay the termination fee if I am unhappy with the service. Subsequently, I have kept my correspondence with One Rent over e-mail, post which escalations have resulted in complete false statements with no merit from their side, which can be easily be refutable based on the documented e-mail correspondence. Their approach has continued to be to defend with lies the issues raised, instead of putting corrective action in place and through customer service. They still haven't responded to my escalation or addressed the lack of marketing for my property, waiting for me to pay the termination fee. They have stopped responding to my e-mails or communication, including my request to purge my personal data/information from their systems, although they still have a contract with me. It is dangerous having to give your personal details (including social security number) to an unethical company such as One Rent.

I wish I had read more reviews before becoming a renter with One Rent. We have had a problem with squirrels in the walls for well over 2 months, we hear them scratching, jumping, in the ceiling, in the walls of our bedroom, bathroom and nothing has been done, we were not even contacted after we reported the problem without us having to call everyday and still, they says “we will talk to the owner and call you back” and no one calls back. We have had our sofa scratched, pooped on and my laptop ripped into by either rats or squirrels and no one has done a thing about it. This is THEE worst customer service I have ever dealt with. There are other problems that have not been addressed. Each time, they come up with a brand new excuse as to why the issue has not been addressed. I hate this lousy company, I had told anyone that is renting or looking to rent to take their business elsewhere. In response to the BS reply from One Rent: -No, you did not schedule the repair that best meets my needs. Because of you, I am having to take time off (unpaid) from a new job because YOU REFUSED to pay a vendor that can come do the repairs that best fit my time. -No, I was not contacted by your team about the pest issue even after I reported it to the person that came to do the annual inspection, instead, I had to call several times to get a response. Your response, after dealing with MONTHS of this, was that HOA will take care of it. I went out to my way to find a number for HOA and HOA said its not their responsibility and they will not take care of it as its the owners (aka You as the property management). AND TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, I have been calling you all day to relay this information without a response. YOU ARE THE WORST COMPANY EVER!!

As with everyone else, they promise you the world to rent your property and then don't do a damn thing. I didn't fully accept this until a month in I said to a friend "this damn service isn't doing anything they said they would" and she said "Is it OneRent? I used them and it was terrible" I was promised a Virtual walkthrough and professional photos - I got cell phone photos with weird angles and lighting, and they didn't even get all the rooms. I was promised it would be listed on 50+ rental sites - they ONLY listed on their own site. I was promised service - no one ever responds and when they did they just kept telling me to lower the rent to below market to entice renters. In 6 years of owning this place, I have never had rent this low and they still didn't rent it. They just scam you to add more listings to their site. This whole this is just a sham.

I have been a resident with onerent for over a year and half. The condo that i am at had a change with the Parking System and i was denied entry because onerent failed to update them with my information. Called customer service and said they would help me resolve this and compensate for the parking costs in the downtime. After this got resolved they tell me that "Your request has been denied" after explicitly telling me that i could be compensated if i show proof of receipt. Absolutely disgusted by their conduct, obvious that they only care about taking as much money from their customers with no regard for their renters. i would rate negative stars if i could

If I could choose 0 stars , I would. I’ve called and emailed One Rent numerous times over the last few weeks and they will not call you back as a client if there is an issue. They will keep promising to call you back, but nothing will ever happen. I’ve also asked for paperwork and documentation to remedy a situation, but they still have not followed through on their end. They are dishonest and have told our tenant that their relationship has ended with us as a client but we have not signed any paperwork. I would suggest looking for another property management company to manage your property. Otherwise, One Rent will cost you both time and money.

BE AWARE, don’t fall for this company’ s Bait & Switch tactics. They will collect all of your personal and financial information, only to let you know that the property you made application for was already rented and will try to steer you towards some other property. Used the same tactics with me more than once.

Once you reach out to view a rental they keep bugging you with emails and texts. They keep asking the same questions over and over and the people that show you the places have no clue what’s going on with the rental. If you have any questions you have to call them and then leave your questions with a rep and then wait to get a call back. I also don’t feel comfortable adding all these documents and my SS# into a website.

All the rentals I viewed were in horrible conditions. The walls were so dirty I couldn’t run out of there fast enough! Onerent doesn’t do anything to clean up the places

They're horrible for so many reasons I'll just outline some of them. They won't show up to a confirmed appointment. I had to call them after 30 minutes of waiting to find out that the showing had been cancelled and no one bothered to contact me. When asking them what happened, they kept going around in circles saying that it's "an experience to learn from and that they'll circle back and grow from this". Once you give them your information, you'll get calls all throughout the day from different people pressuring you to submit an application for a property, or they will present all the nearby properties to you. You'll tell one representative that you're not interested, and an hour later, you'll get a call from another representative trying to go through the same exact thing. Please don't work with them or give them your information.

We set up an appointment for the apartment showing but no one showed up. After a few phone calls, a person called and asked a picture of my ID to send them to share the passcode of the key holder. I am not going to share my ID with an online entity just to see a place. Home owners, do not work with them. They claim to be a property manager but they are bunch of hired unprofessional people who have no idea how things work.

I'm looking for a one bedroom in Alameda County. Affordable housing or Section 8 from another county so I would need to transfer it I am 64 years old, disabled. One rent keeps promising they have these types of rentals, but I am having no luck with them. They have all my personal information. Either they promise me a viewing and never send me an address or communication is vague and poor over the phone. When they call my phone says Scam Likely. Im having no luck, being lied to or something else.

I would give them negative stars if I can choose. It took 4 month for them to rent out my apartment in Seattle! Not some remove rural areas, in a central area in big Seattle area! They were eager for you to sign a service contract, so they bug you everyday before you sign. But when you want to get out of the contract, they are unreachable!!!

We made an appointment to view a house and when we arrived there was another family waiting with the "realtor". They couldn't get the door open because they had the wrong key code. Not a biggie because we were all told that they could let us in another time. We wanted the place anyway because the yard was really big and had 2 pools. We jumped through major hoops to qualify for that property. I mean we filled out and submitted documents for a few days. We were told our profile was 100% complete and when logging in, it did indeed show 100% complete. We were told that we qualified for ANY house listed on onerent. We were told that they recommended us highly to the owner and that the owner would make their decision on our app by the end of they day. Then, total radio silence. Not another text, call or email. I logged into our account and saw that someone had closed our application for that property and changed our profile status to 70% complete. We were kept waiting for a long time and no one had the courtesy to let us know a status. Who does that? Why would someone do that? I consider it extremely rude and am thoroughly dissatisfied with one rent's customer service.

They have reached out to me to list my property for rental. Made lots of promises including the followings: 1. we already have people interested in your property. 2. we have a professional photographer. 3. we do individual evaluation of your property. 4. we always rent it in less than a month. And well all of these turned out to be lies. None of them were correct. All they do is to list your property on a few listing sites that you can do yourself and answer inquiries. And the quality of them handling the inquiries is definitely not as good as how you do it. I have to pay them $250 to pull out of our agreement after two month to then be able to rent it myself. Lesson learned.

Unreliable, time-wasting customer service Tried to set two different appointments in two different occasions. The first one was canceled the evening before. For the second one I was hesitant but decided to give them a second chance. This was a mistake, apparently: the agent simply didn't show up for the appointment. When I called the agency, explaining the situation of waiting outside with 2 kids at 6 PM, they said they'll check and get back to me within 5-10 minutes. After 20 minutes when no one called back, we gave up and drove back home. Not only that - the day after, an agent got back to me and apologized. She offered to send me a link to a self-show of the property. I said OK. After 20 minutes I received the link, for a different property 40 miles away from the property I was interested in. So unprofessional.

Everything is good. I have three units to be rented. All were rented in a short period, which was awesome! However, when three units were rented, I have three different points of contacts from the Success Team. One for each unit. I think one person would have been ideal sine all three units are in one building.

Onerent gets vendors usually quickly. But our house was not professionally cleaned or checked before we moved in.
