After being contacted by Laura / Customer Service Transglobal Express, Laura went to a lot of trouble to investigate what went wrong with our shipment. The consignment was recovered from the USA and returned and on top of that all charges were cancelled. This has restored our trust in what has always been a great company to use and having had this one bad experience, its reassuring to know that customer support and aftersales care is there look after you should there a problem. 5 STARS to Transglobal Express and well deserved too. Thank you Laura and TGE for sorting this matter out. ................................................................................ Original Review: First of all my company has used Transglobal Express a lot over the years and have (up to now) found them extremely good. Praise where praise is due. However, the latest experience is a 'stinker'. I shall explain. I booked for a commemorative King Charles 3rd Coronation special issue bottle of whisky and a commemorative £5 King Charles 3rd coin to be shipped to our suppliers just outside Chicago USA. The first task was to identify and list correct commodity codes. Not too difficult so job done. Booking reference ending 2397. The package was collected the next day by DHL. The following day (Thursday 21/12) I received an email from DHL stating that I needed to provide proof that the goods being shipped were not subject to an export licence. Being so close to Xmas I subsequently had great difficulty in raising anyone at HMRC Export Licence department. Because of this I sent an email the same day to DHL requesting that they return the package to me until I could provide the proof that they asked for. On the 27/12 I get an email from DHL in the USA saying that they had the package and customs clearance paperwork had to be completed and if this was not done by the 2nd January they would charge me $31 USD per day storage charges. Today (2nd Jan 2024) I called the West Coast department of DHL requesting help to complete the baffling documentation only to discover right at the end of a 45 minute telephone call (who knows how much this will cost me!!) that the state of Illinois only allows consignments of alcohol to be delivered to licenced and registered alcohol wholesalers or distributors. These items were intended as corporate gifts to our supplier so would NOT be delivered. I was told that the package would have to be returned to me in the UK at a cost of £75. Grumble #1. There was no mention on the Transglobal Express website that alcohol cannot be shipped to Illinois other than to licenced alcohol resellers in the USA otherwise I would not have made the booking. Grumble #2. DHL Export ignored my email to return the package to me and went ahead and shipped it to the USA anyway even though I had not yet provided them with proof that these goods did not need an export licence. I have since had this confirmed by HMRC so WHY did DHL send me an email saying that they required proof when it wasn't necessary? This put me to a great deal of trouble. Grumble #3. In requesting that the package be returned it will cost me a further £75 on top of the £60 or so I paid to have it shipped out. So I'm now £135+ out of pocket. Customers like me and my company rely on companies like Transglobal Express to provide accurate and informative information otherwise how will we ever know what can be done and what can't be done? In this case Transglobal Express and DHL are both at fault. Transglobal for not making it clear that alcohol sent to the USA state of Illinois must be sent to a licensed alcohol reseller and DHL for ignoring my plainly put email NOT to ship the package to the USA in the first place. Once I've got the package back I shall take both Transglobal Express and DHL to task over this matter as they both benefitted whilst I'm out of pocket. It's not right. Deeply Dissatisfied.

We had to extend the deadline for receipt and it would have still been late excluding us from the potential work. There was no way to track the location of the package on the system. No information available.

As a last resort I rang the Hayes depot. I spoke to Aisha so was so kind, professional and helpful. She did all the paperwork over the phone checking things as she went along. I was very impressed. My parcel was collected this morning. All done quickly and efficiently. An excellent service.
