My kids have had pinwheel phones for a year. Through the growing pains of developing the phones, we have had great customer service every time we have needed it. I just had a question about group texting. I was able to use the live chat option and get the answers and education I needed. I love that it is convenient!

Bought this phone as a gift for our 13 y/o who was the last of his friends to not have a phone. At first he hated it; no instagram, no snap, no tiktok, no web browser, but he got used to it and there are enough "older" apps to keep him happy. His dad and I love it. He's got time to be exposed to all that (which he probably is at school anyway), no need to rush it in our family. So thanks Pinwheel for making an agonizing decision (getting him a phone) easy. Next will be his little sister in a few year.

Customer service and support were very helpful

I’m pretty dissatisfied with this product and phone. Though I do appreciate all the aspects of the product in terms of safety and security for my children, the initial setup and figuring out how to use all the aspects is confusing, frustrating, and just downright difficult. Also, the actual communication features aren’t great- half the time when I try to call my child, it doesn’t even ring on her end and goes straight to voicemail; this is as I’m holding her phone in my hand! The most important thing about my child having a phone is that I’m able to communicate with her. So if that ability to communicate is not reliable, then it’s worthless in my mind. And though customer service is pretty responsive and helpful, I don’t think I should have to text or email them 25 times during the initial setup because things aren’t working as they should.

So far I have been extremely impressed with Pinwheel. I have had a lot of questions regarding the phone and it’s safety features. I just want to make the right choice for my kids when it comes to placing technology in their hands and their growing minds. The companies customer service is attentive and thorough when answering questions. I really like how the company is open to evolving with the kids and families needs while still staying true to safety! We just ordered our phone so now we will see how the actual phone holds up to my kids and our expectations. I feel confidant it will since so far I have been super impressed with their customer services. A++

Great help and feedback

I had a very positive experience with Pinwheel Customer Support via Joseph N. My daughter's Pinwheel phone did a factory reset for some reason, and Joseph was very professional and patient (with just the right amount of humor) in directing me through the steps to try to resolve the problem. Based on this experience, I can say that not only does Pinwheel have a good product, it also has the team to back up and support this ideal product. I will recommend Pinwheel to my elementary school teacher colleagues to pass along to the parents of their students. *****

Pinwheel has been a terrible experience for us. I have spent so many of my afternoons and nights on with tech support with no resolution. We had one failed phone and got sent another that was just as bad - So many issues. Glitches galore. Finally drew the line when I couldn’t communicate anymore with my daughter via text or call and the charger quite working and tech support couldn’t help. Her phone wouldn't keep the right time, her texts wouldn’t show up as an alert, her camera didn’t work on the 1st phone, etc. Now I am stuck with an expensive phone for nothing. Disappointed. We have a lot friends needing phones like this right now for their preteens and I’ll be sure to tell them to go elsewhere. Spent a lot of money for nothing.

Support was great when I contact them and was quick to resolve the issue so for that reason I have given 5 stars. However! The initial issue that resulted in me needing to contact support was that my son was able to install Snapchat on his phone, even though it's not an approved app. It doesn't show on the main screen either, so somehow he's accessing stuff in the background. So for THAT issue, I'd rank Pinwheel itself a little lower in not being able to have closed this loophole before since it touts itself as being unhackable by kids.

Nina was so helpful and fixed a problem for us on Thanksgiving day! We are grateful for her amazing help.

I was having trouble getting google docs set up on my daughter's phone. Chen was super helpful. I even got called away from my computer for an hour before we finished. Chen was still available to pick up right where we left off and my problem was solved. I always get the help I need with pinwheel support.
