Many years ago when I first opened my account I was working in Tyler and the banking was convenient. I left that job and went to Lufkin. I closed my account because the company I worked for did not have direct deposit and there was no Altra in Lufkin. Before I closed the account I deposited a check via photo. The check didn’t show up in account for several days and I cashed it in Rusk. I called Altra and told them what I had done and after two weeks since the check wasn’t sent back to Altra I was advised that the one in Rusk would probably bounce and that I needed to call them. I took the money out of my account and closed it and took the money strait to the place that cashed the paper check, explaining to them that the check would be returned and why. I never heard another word. I went back to work in Tyler and went back to Altra to open up another account. I was told that I had a write off of $1700+ dollars or so. I immediately went to Rusk, picked up the cash from the place where I cashed the paper check and paid off the balance. The lady in Rusk apologized immensely for not letting me know that the check was never returned to her and she was holding my money. I told her it was straitened out and all was good. I then opened my current account back at Altra. However, I have been treated like a second class citizen for this mistake for years. I cannot take a photo deposit, use the ATM or do anything unless I physically walk into a branch. I have never had a returned check and I auto deposit my check twice monthly. However, when I get bonuses at work it makes it difficult because I work in Henderson 8-5 and I can’t drive to Tyler to make deposits in person. I think enough time has gone by that I could be able to be treated like a normal customer. I paid the write off years ago and have remained loyal. I can open another account elsewhere but I like doing business in Tyler. Can someone please see what I need to do to be able to deposit my checks remotely and use the ATM for deposits and other business?? I assumed after so many months or years, I would go back to being a normal customer but that hasn’t happened yet and I need to either move everything or get this fixed ASAP!!! I'm a new customer so how am I supposed to know anyone's name or extension line? You need to make yourselves more accessible to people if you really want more customers.

The interest rate was fair and other than waiting longer than I would have liked, I was fully satisfied with my loan experience this time. It was not my first loan with Altra and likely will not be my last loan either.

I contacted Jordan Blom to help me with a car loan, and he eagerly volunteered to help me. I asked this process go as quickly as possible, as I was eager to get in a new car. I told him I was unable to come in due to work, and he managed to do everything over email and phone in less than 4 hours. Impressed and beyond satisfied is an understatement. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and comfortable, as this was my first time purchasing a vehicle through a private party. United States | 15 October 2022At this bank all the workers are willing to work with anyone. What I mean by this is when I was getting my checking and savings set up the lady was so nice. Whenever I need to take out money or put money into my savings the employees are always always welcoming with seems open arms.

United States | 15 October 2022I have a savings account. I want to transfer money from the savings account to another bank. They gave me two options. Come down to the bank, get a cashier's check and take it to the other bank. Or pay us $25 to do a wire transfer. To avoid that hassle I can go down to the bank in person, fill out paperwork and wait 3 to 5 business days to create a direct access to the account I want to transfer to. WHAT? The sole reason of having a bank account is to protect your money and access it for use. Not at Altra.

The last credit union I used allowed me to withdraw $7000.00 without any question or ID and I didn't know the person that waited on me (nor did they know me). Needless to say I left that credit union. All employees have been very helpful. Altra FCU is great at watching me credit charges and flag them right away when there is a question (which seems to happen at least twice a year to me).
