Fields Data did an excellent job with recovering data from my inoperable HD. The cost for the work was very fair and the turn around was about week from the time I sent in the drive using the prepaid UPS label they sent to me to the time I received a jump drive with the recovered data on it. The customer service I received from Cass was excellent. Overall, I’m very pleased with the service I received.

My boss's hard drive stopped booting. I googled "data recovery" and found Fields Data Recovery. When I called the technician was professional and thorough. He explained the process and sent me a prepaid shipping label with no obligation. Within 2 weeks we received the recovered data. Their fees were reasonable and we will definitely use them for future data recovery projects.

After sending in over 1TB of photo and video files, I received the new hard drive and probably 95% of the recovered data within a few days. I communicated mainly with Dylan, who was very helpful. I'm not giving 5 stars only because I have no idea if I overpaid, based on my lack of knowledge of the market.

What can I say? The client's data was recovered from seriously damaged drive. Good Job! In particular, our Account Manager, Emily was awesome and did a great job getting us through this difficult time. The only downside to the process was something which cannot be helped. Any estimate provided before a recovery vendor receives the damaged hard drive will likely be wrong. The amount of damage a drive sustains can cause the recovery price to increase significantly and it felt like we were not really prepared for the actual cost of the recovery. However, this would likely be the same situation with any recovery vendor and should not be held against Fields Data. It's easy to hear the lower, average cost of the recovery quoted in the beginning and perhaps some more cautionary information about worse case scenarios might be helpful. Ultimately, the good news is Fields Data Recovery was able to obtain good data for the client which got them back up and running. On that point, Fields Data Recovery did a wonderful job! Rebuilding everything from scratch would have cost a lot more in the long run so thanks again!

THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT SEND YOUR COMPUTER OR PAY THEM. This is a company run by jerks. I sent them my Macbook Air, paid $700, and then within hours of paying, I was able to recover the files myself by logging into iCloud. A guy at their company named (name redacted) informed me that it costs so much because it takes 1-2 WEEKS of highly technical work in order to recover, so surely not much will have been done in a few hours. The following morning, (name redacted) told us that work had NOT yet started and that he would relay the message to stop work. When we called the following morning, all of a sudden, he became indignant and told us that it doesn't matter that we told him to stop because we already paid for the work. And plus they've already finished recovering all our data anyways. WHAT?! You slimy little scumbag. You never told them to stop the recovery? And wasn't it supposed to be 1-2 week turnaround time? I had to ask him 4 or 5 times for a manager before another dude named (2nd name redacted) came on the line. He was even more indignant towards me than (name redacted). He raised his voice and SCREAMED at me several times after I asked calm, rational, logical questions--trying to understand the timeline of what happened here. It was like what I imagine trying to rationally and logically discuss something with a sociopath would be like. (2nd name redacted) was unable to muster any sort of empathy or respect towards me. He was also unable and unwilling to see the situation from my point of view. He just kept rattling off unrelated metaphores that didn't apply at all to my case. He refused to address the fact that I was told initially that work hadn't started, and then the next day was told that it was finished and there would be no altering of the fee. I informed him I would be filing a police report and starting a dispute through my bank. He started yelling at me again so I hung up. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

Disaster. Never send any disk or media for recovery. spent $1600. Failed to recover anything from two disks. The whole thing about free diagnosis is hoax to get you pay. Never got response from manager. Received only one original disk back. I could recover the data from that one disk using another service.

Fields did an incredible job! We lost all of our photos and files to a Ransomware attack and everyone said that they were gone. Cass Davis was our point of contact and he expressed confidence that they could help us. I was hopeful but not totally optimistic because everything that I read online said that ransomware was unbreakable. However, they were able to recover a good chunk of our data! It wasn't everything but the fact that we got back anything was incredible! Cass was very helpful and we are grateful to get our family photos back. It feels like we had a fire at our house and you lose your family photo book, when up walks a fireman and he hands you the photos.

My experience fields-data-recovery.com 8-13-19 I mailed in my hard drives, they gave me an accurate guess on when the drive would be returned. I got my footage back in a format that was unusable. As a professional wedding cinematographer, none of the footage was able to be opened or viewed at all. When I called again to see if there was anything else to be found on the drives. . . They transferred my call twice(both representatives had bad customer service and acted like they didn't want to talk to me at all) and told me that I needed to mail in the hard drive they sent me with the unusable footage to process it any further.(This is the tenth time I have called to get this sorted out) Then Emily(the representative) put me on hold while I was mid sentence asking a question. 5 minutes later she returned and told me she had to talk to her manager and ignored my question about having my hard drives mailed back to me. She then proceeded to hang up. (She is my account manager) I am sharing this with you after we had purchased this data recovery option for $2400. If you are missing information, I highly recommend finding someone else to do it based on my experience so far(I still haven't hear anything back from the manager about having my personal hard drives mailed back to me).

I have sent my Hard Drive to them, they called me the next day, asking me if the Data on the Drive was important to me, prior in telling me if the drive is repairable or not. They contact me next day telling me that it will cost $3800, and I would need to pay it 100% upfront, with no documente, no quote, no terms&condition, no Guarantees. However they way they were forcing payment and acting, automatically raised RED FLAGS everywhere. They wanted payment right away, or lose chance of getting anything recovered. I felt my Drive was hostage by a set of scammers. I was on vacation at that time, and when I got back, I got an email from Mr. Schneblen that I have till Tuesday 2pm to pay. Well I sent them an email the next day telling them thanks for the diagnose but at this time I don't have the funds, however to sent me the drive back to the address provided. Mr. Schneblen then Threaten me to go after me for collection, and I have not even committed to anything. There was no documentation whatsoever over 3 weeks of communication, and now they have my hard drive hostage. I have written my last email given them 10 days to return my drive or I will need to engage my Lawyer to go after them. Clients beware. If someone does not sent you any formal proposal, quote, terms&Condition it is because something fishy is going on. I will be reporting back on August 15th of 2019, since this is the deadline they have to return back my drive.

They are very professional and timely. I had a lot of data (over half a TB) that was on my failed Seagate drive. It was almost all of my work from my career as a graphic artist. With very helpful customer service, they were able to recover all of it and quickly.

Unequivocally one of the lowest forms of scams one can devise. These animals prey upon your need to recover priceless files and data. Do not in any way shape or form send your devices to this company as you will be asked to pay $800 upfront after speaking to a tech who will then make him/herself (Eric Martinez) unavailable to any and all forms of communication. Then you will have the misfortune of speaking only to a bumbling dope named Michael Schneblen who will refuse to give you any sort of status updates. This is a scam I should have seen coming a mile away but I was in desperate need of help and they dirtbags did what dirtbags do. STAY CLEAR.

Not sure if this was a misunderstanding or what, but all ended up being a total scam. The account manager and sales person I was dealing with told me that the recovery don't care about windows installation or software, but only photos, videos or other media which is what most people want to recover. I asked if she could ask engineers to tell me if there I any photo/image files, she got back to me and told me there were hundreds of pictures so I decided to move forward. I signed an agreement of "no refund under any circumstances" which I did believing that if I take the risk, at least must be something in there. For my surprise I only got windows installation files, and that's it. The only images found were from windows wallpapers. I'm so mad at this for the fact of the lie, if they just told me you have to take the risk, I wouldn't care that much. I felt awful and lost $960 US dollars. I asked and called them and never returned my call back. I don't trust them and you shouldn't either.

First rate: could scarcely be better. The response to my initial inquiry was remarkably prompted I had a phone diagnosis/prognosis so that I could decide to OK the work. They recovered everything. After receiving a new thumb drive, loaded with the recovered data, I somehow managed to lose that, too. Fortunately, the company retains the data for a week; and my contact could hardly have been kinder or more patient, emailing the files to me again in a zip file--and then guided me through the download. It must be trying dealing with a hapless customer but he certainly didn't show it. Thank you!
