The staff was very helpful, and sympathetic to my stressful situation. I received multiple calls with updates and reassurance that all of my data would be recovered soon.

At the end of the day, Fields was able to recover the data from my solid-state hard drive and return it to me. While it was an incredibly expensive procedure (prohibitively for some), it didn't appear to be any more expensive than any other provider's services. They provided a free shipping label so I could send my machine to them for a diagnosis, and once they were able to access my data sent me a file list of everything that could be recovered along with a quote. After agreeing to the price, they were able to recover my files and overnight them to me. My one concern was the time frame. While I understand that we were working with a soldered solid-state drive, they were only able to acquire the file list beyond the window they gave for the free drive return, meaning that if I didn't accept their quoted price, they wouldn't return my machine or hard drive. Additionally, some email correspondence took days while others took minutes. All in all, they saved my files that might have been lost due to my negligence and lack of back-ups. It was expensive, yes, but I'm more than satisfied with the results.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the work results from my service engagement with 'Fields Data Recovery". I found the customer service support to have been exceptional. They employed efficient processes and superior knowledge in understanding the problem with my device, documenting and taking my repair order and deftly arranging pick-up of my HDD for repair. The repair of the unit was what I expect. The one complaint I have was the pricing. I'm not sure what the advertised price of $199 relates to. Nonetheless, the data I was seeking to recover was invaluable, therefore making the pricing somewhat inconsequential. Overall, I would rate this "repair action" a very satisfying customer experience!

We got out data back, but it took about two months for them to "order parts" and then once they had the data recovered it took 8 days to overnight us the data on a new hard drive. I'm glad we got the data back but it was certainly a hassle.

Fields Data Recovery did an excellent job of getting my data off of a corrupted external hard drive, but what was really outstanding to me was the top-notch customer service and speed. There were three factors that persuaded me to try Fields Data Recovery. The first was because my Google search indicated a price that would be more within my reach than any others I came across. The second, is that while reading and making entries on the link to Fields, A very nice person conversed with me by chat and email and gave me to think that Fields could accomplish that which I was wanting from a dead hard drive and immediately sent me the shipping information.
