United States | 18 June 2019Sent in my hard drive for the free check about what was wrong with it. It ended up costing $900 to get the data off and I had read that ever getting your drive back if you didn't go with them was really hard. So I paid $900 and they did get everything on the original drive. I needed that data and got it, but the cost seemed way too high and I don't know that it should have been that costly. I put a label on my original drive with all my contact info specifically saying I needed that hard drive back. I even created a contract that the company contact approved that specifically said I would get my original drive back, but it still took 3 emails that were never answered and wasn't until a company guy called asking for a good review that I finally got my original drive back.

United States | 18 June 20191 Check Yelp. Be careful. It may be a scam. The internet is full of highly negative comments and articles bordering in my opinion on criminal allegations. Their Better Business Bureau rating is F. I sent a 2 .5" hard drive which my computer could not recognize. This is typically a controller issue and the easiest failure to recover data. He said there was a controller failure and the heads also "buckled". He said the could recover approximately 10,000 folders and 7,000 files.(he gave me a precise number I don't recall.)He said he was 100% sure this information could be recovered but the recovery would take 10 days. This made no sense since the only way they could be this sure is if they read the data so why didn't write to their server then. He became defensive and finally hung up when I asked for the disk to be sent back. My opinion: Criminal Enterprise. Most likely it was trivial electronics problem and every else was BS. My opinion: avoid like the plaque.

Explained the whole process covering all the decision points and potential outcomes. Process unfolded just as explained. End to end, it took about a week and I got everything I needed back from the drive. I'm thrilled with their communications, their technical skill, and their professionalism. I hope not to need them again, but if I do, Fields Data is the team I'll use.

United States | 05 June 2019Expensive, but valuable. Straightforward business arrangement. I sent the hard drive (old Toshiba Satallite laptop). By the next day they had rebuilt the disk in their clean room, recovered all the data, gave me the price ($2100 steep, but necessary to the continuation of my business), then overnighted an expansion disk with all the data. Wooo ... I was saved.

United States | 04 June 2019I had a broken tablet notebook that I had taken to 3 repair places and nobody could get my data off of it for me. One place recommended Data Recovery so I sent it to them. I ended up waiting 3 months to get my data and paid $890 to get it but they were able to recover data that I desperately needed for my job when nobody else could. If you HAVE to get info off of a broken device and would pay anything for it, send it here. My advice is to be ready to call your customer service rep often to keep current on the state of your repair.

I was very pleased to have my data recovered quickly and returned to me in a format I could use. The technicians described the process to me and followed through on all of their promises. The only downside for me was the expense. As this was a home computer with only a few relatively small files, I felt the cost was too high. Around $300 to $400 would seem more reasonable for the type of job. Nevertheless, I was happy to have the data restored. Thank you.

While the wasn't a need to have the recovery expedited, they were able to recover about 60% of the data, and expedited the return of recovered data very quickly (less than 10 days). While not inexpensive, if you need expertise in data recovery, they are my go-to service.
