United States | 06 January 2025After several attempts to bypass the automated system, I was able to speak live with a FAHW representative. She was very helpful in verifying what would be covered by the home warranty and sent an urgent message to the plumbing contractor. I was able to have the water pipe fixed the next day.

United States | 05 January 2025This company is in violation of the CAN-SPAM act for failing to process my multiple opt-out requests at least 30 days after receiving such requests. TrustPilot does not allow me to add the email addresses in question. Please post a reference number here and an email address to contact you at and I can message you please. Still getting your SPAM, First American Home Warranty... in spite of the dozen or so times I have emailed you to unsubscribe me from your junk mail campaign.

United States | 05 January 2025On November 9th I requested service for my pool pump. On November 11th Champion Pool Services came out and determined the pump needed to be replaced. I was informed they would order the part. On December 1 I was informed the part was available for the contractor to install. I then called every week then daily and it is now January 3rd and the pump has still not been replaced. I called Champion but they did not answer or return my calls. First American said they were going to email them and also tried to call them. I asked several times for a different contractor since clearly Champion has no interest in replacing this pump. And I was assigned a "claims specialist" who left a very nice voice mail a few weeks ago but did NOTHING to get my pump replaced. UPDATE After I posted this review I was contacted. The pump replacement was scheduled. But they had to reschedule because the pump was no longer at the warehouse. So a few days later they installed the pump at no cost to me. Probably saved me $900. But it took over 2 months.

United States | 05 January 2025I admit I have no faith and low expectations with home warranties. However, my two claims this year went very well. I am happy with the work and end results on the two claims.

United States | 03 January 2025Note that many of the online reviews are fake (person posting only has 1 review to their name, a dead giveaway). These deadbeats claim to "repair or replace", the fact is that when they can't repair something (in our case, a refrigerator), they try to replace the unit with an inferior grade and model. They say, "The amount is based off pre-negotiated replacement value of similar features, efficiency, and capacity through First American’s suppliers, which is less than retail."; the fact is the model quoted was of lesser capacity, quality, and efficiency. Tantamount to offering a Kia Forte to replace a Lexus TX. Heck, if this is how they calculate value, everything is a Kia Forte. Keep away from these con artists. UPDATE: Well, looks like I got their attention. Now they are actively trying to get this review taken down instead of correcting their corrupt practices. UPDATE2: Surprise, they actually acknowledged I'm a customer. (After all, why would I be wasting my time complaining about nothing.) Let's hope they actually abide by their advertised coverage. UPDATE3: So far their response is to attempt to brow beat us into accepting their original offer of a lesser quality, capacity and efficiency builders grade refrigerator for our professional grade model. Thank God it's only a refrigerator! A quick look at their Facebook page revels many more customers in worse shape than us.

United States | 03 January 2025Very satisfied the the home warranty work paid for by First American Home Warranty. After the plumber showed up and saw the two leaks, he said he wanted to fix it right the first time. He called FAHW and got approval to the necessary work to get the leaks fixed in both the hot water supply line and the bath/shower cartridge. The contractor FAHW used for this warranty work was great to work with and did a great job fixing the leaks.

United States | 01 January 2025FAHW could not be more useless if they tried. The contractors they use are unskilled and unreliable. If, after a month of trying to get their contractors to fix your problem, they can't figure out a low-cost fix, they will tell you that you have 10 days to find your own contractor, who they will only pay about $125 to diagnose the problem their contractor couldn't diagnose. Then, they'll approve up to about $265 to fix the problem, but you only have 30 days to have the repairs completed. Again, that's after THEIR contractors couldn't figure it out for a month! Also, any time you call them, or their contractors, you're on hold from 10 to 30 or more minutes. FAHW is a scam and completely worthless.

United States | 01 January 2025Replaced Tankless Water Heater with less functionality. Around mid October, we filed a service request for our leaking tankless water heater. AMG Mechanical came out, took photos, and said they would get back to us after submitting the photos for warranty consideration. After about a week of no information, I reached out to them and asked for a status update. Meanwhile, our water heater was leaking more and more that it needed a bucket. We were informed that the First American accepted the claim and would replace the tankless water heater unit. After waiting some time, I looked at the First American website and our service ticket. Once there, I saw that a Navien NNPN180ENG had been ordered. I looked up the model to see how it compared to our existing unit (Navien NR-210A). I found that the one being ordered by First American did NOT have a recirculating pump as our existing NR-210A. The recirculating pump is critical as it provides instant hot water to our faucets. I called customer service and explained that the one being ordered had less functionality than what we currently had. The agent asked for our existing model number, again, Navien NR-210A, and he looked up and compared the two units. He agreed that the new unit SHOULD have the same or better functionality. He stated that he would get this escalated to purchasing to ensure the new unit would have the recirculating pump. I asked for clarification that a unit with equal or better functionality would be ordered. He assured me that the new unit would have a recirculating pump as our current model. A few days later, I checked the dashboard and saw that a Rinnai RX180IN had been ordered to replace the previous order of the Navien NNPN180ENG. I didn’t check the model number for functionality as I was assured that it would be of equal or greater functionality and that it would, in fact, have a recirculating pump. Finally, after more than 2 months, AMG Mechanical installed the water heater to replace our Navien NR-210A which was now leaking more than 10 gallons every two days. After installation, we used the hot water and noticed that it took 5-7 minutes for the water to become hot. We checked the documentation to ensure that AMG Mechanical had set it up correctly. It was at this time that we realized that the Rinnai RX180IN DOES NOT come with a recirculating pump. It is only compatible with the adding of a recirculating pump. We reached out to First American and spoke with Emmanuel. We explained the situation and additionally explained that we were assured that the replacement would have a recirculating pump just as our original did. It is not just a matter of convenience to have instant hot water, but living in a desert climate, it’s incredibly irresponsible for us to waste so much water waiting 5-7 minutes for hot water. We explained that we either wanted a replacement unit with a recirculating pump as our original or, having done some research, ordering Rinnai Recirculating Pump conversion kit to the unit that just got installed (conversion kit model #RX2RXPCK). Emmanuel stated that he understood the situation and would order the unit and have it installed with no additional cost. He told us that we would receive an update within 24 hours. After 24 hours of waiting, we called again and spoke with Joseph. We explained the situation and he told us that we had specifically requested the Rinnai RX180IN. Which we indicated was a complete lie. We did not request any specific model, just requested a unit with the same functionality as our original unit. We, again, provided the history of the situation and requested that the conversion kit be ordered and installed at no cost as we were assured of a replacement that has the same functionality. He stated that he would escalate the situation to purchasing and that a claim specialist would be assigned and would contact us within 2 business days. After not receiving or seeing updates on the site, we called again and were told that they would not be ordering a conversion kit because they already replaced the unit. Despite assurances that the unit would have the recirculating pump, they insisted that what they ordered was correct and would close the ticket. We are now left with purchasing the $500+ conversion kit and hiring a plumber to install it. We would definitely NOT recommend FAH as we feel like they assured us of one thing only to deliver a lesser thing and then tell us to be happy about it.
