It’s unavoidable. A home warranty offers you a renewable service contract you can use to protect systems in your home such as heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and electrical, as well as major appliances like your dishwasher, oven, clothes washer/dryer, refrigerator, and more. With our home warranty protection, when a covered item breaks, we’ll send a pre-screened service contractor to your home to diagnose the issue. Many of our customers request service multiple times each year and save hundreds to thousands of dollars on repair and replacement costs. These types of mechanical failures are typically not covered by your homeowners insurance, so a home warranty can help bridge that gap in protection by shielding your budget from these sudden expenses. Spent $1200 on the Premier plan - all they do is Deny, Deny, Deny. They sent repair person out that claimed it was due to maintenance (it was NOT). I had to call company to fix technical issue that should have been covered, as we were in a freeze for 5 days. Cost was minimal with my HVAC and came out the day after to get resolved for less than $200..First American sent a second contractor out a week later and found no maintenance issue nor mechanical (which I had already had fixed)...DON'T GO WITH THIS COMPANY! THEY DENY, DENY, DENY ANY AND EVERY CLAIM! Extremely disappointed! I only asked for my $125 service call back as they misdiagnosed, and they have refused! Again, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY - YOU WILL NEVER GET A REPAIR! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!

I have been in the cold for 7 days . Imagine staying in a house with no heat in the middle of February. The use worst HVAC company that keeps delaying stuff or send technicians that are misdiagnosing the issue. When I call First American they said it wasn’t an emergency and can take up to 12 days . What’s the purpose of the warranty then if I have to stay in house with no heat in February for 12 days. I asked to call a contractor to get it fixed and have them reimbursed me they said no.

It's been almost 2 months without a microwave repair with no resolution in site. Originally the part was on backorder, then they needed another part that's now on backorder. The Claims Resolution Dept couldn't provide any resolutions for this poor time service. First they offered $50 towards to purchase of a hot plate or temporary microwave which I don't need, I just need the microwave that's covered under this warranty Fixed. Then they offered to assign someone to watch the claim daily now, which is something they should've done 4 weeks ago when they realized it wasn't resolved.

**Horrible Experience - Be Careful, Pick Another Company** I have been with this company for over two years, paying over $75.00 a month for a home warranty with an additional package. Let me tell you about the trend of this company. We reported that our HVAC was not cooling, so they sent someone after we paid a $95.00 charge. After the inspection, the company sends a report to First American, and they have another three business days to make a decision. During this time, you will see that it is still under review, but if you check your email, they often deny the claim within minutes of the report submission. The most common reason they provide is that it either is not part of the contract or "does not meet code." We paid out of pocket to get the unit up to code and fix the repairs. We sent all this documentation to First American to reinstate the unit for coverage. They will not cover something after you submit a claim until they have absolute documentation that it was corrected. Now, in the winter months with freezing temperatures, the same HVAC is blowing out cold air. So, we pay another $95.00 for a claim. Air Solutions in Fayetteville, NC, came out and looked in the attic and outside. They stated it was low on freon because of a broken coil. He said everything else looked good and that he would submit the report to First American for coverage. "Do not contact our office for questions; call First American," they said. I looked later that evening on the site, and it stated that it was still under review, but after checking my email, the claim was denied in less than an hour of them getting the report. Air Solutions reported that it was not up to code. I called First American and stated, "How is this possible when I had to prove this, and now it's not up to code again?" Customer service stated, "The freon for that model is illegal and not available since January 2025." So here we are in February—how are we supposed to know this? They also said, "You have a Goodman and Lennox, so it's not up to code." I have no clue what this means, as we have not replaced any unit. They approved it and are now denying it again. I am going to continue to fight for this to be fixed and covered by First American but want to warn people to save their money. Put $80.00 in a separate savings account so you are prepared for repairs if needed. **This company is a liar and a joke. Your claims will either not be covered due to contract terms or not being up to code. I promise you this is a rip-off, and I will continue to expose them. Money is hard to come by, especially nowadays, and if you pay for a company, you expect them to follow through when you need them.** **Stay away from this company and also from Air Solutions, as they could have informed us about their report. Communication is important!** **STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND AIR SOLUTIONS.** UPDATE ASKED FOR REASON THEY ARE CLAIMING AGAIN AND NOT TO CODE. THAT IS NOT OUR PROBLEM IT IS NOW THEM. THEY CLOSED MY CLAIM TOOK MY 95.00 AND NO CONTACT BACK. 2/24/2025: They never contacted me regardless of what they may say. I will update post if they do. They closed my account and deleted all evidence of my claim and response. It shows I have had no coverage since 9/2024. They sent a email stating no refund will be provided even though they have taken the monthly payment last being this month. Do not trust this company at all.

Don't go with First American Home Warranty - took them 3 weeks to get my heat pump system working, my house is at 55 degrees. They waste so much time in the authorization process for parts, and the contractor putting customers of FAHW on nonimportant list (get to us when they can) Stay away from th

back in November 2024 I called for routine maintenance on my HVAC system. I was advised at that time to buy a blower for $300.00, which I did. Come January 2025 my system went out due to "faulty wire" First American sent out a different company from November. The system was back up and running but there was a loud noise starting to occur. Called them back with my concerns and a tech was sent out the next week February 6 and advised that a needed a blower....like wtf!! I just brought one; they sent in the request it took over a week First American authorized the repair but here it is February 20 still no tech and my unit not working with 20's degree temps outside. It has been a nightmare. All First American offer in my inconvenience was a reimbursement of $50.00 for a floor heater, in a 2000 sq ft home are you kidding me. I do not recommend getting a home warranty just pay out of pocket because in the end you, quality over quantity. Update as of 2.25.25: A representative replies back to my review with complete bull. Here is 2.25.25, and I still do not have my AC fixed nor a valid reason. I have placed several calls asking for the allowed fee for reimbursement so I can get my unit fixed outside of the company (which is allowed) no one has responded as well. So get on here and try to down play my experience is total bull crap. I have been more than patient with FAHW and for you to offer nothing to help resolve my issue is a disgrace and unacceptable.

Dont waste your money!!!! I have maintained a First American home warranty knowing I had two furnaces that were both old. Now 30 years of age. They still run but a reputable HVAC company came to due a tune up. They shared pictures of cracks in the heat exchanger, biological growth on the AC condenser, the motor that was rusted and seized. They told me the furnace was not safe to use. When calling First American, because I refused to pay $75 for their hack to come out and try and band aid a failed system, I got zero dollars for my furnace AC replacements after 7 years of paying for the home owners insurance. A complete waste of money I recommend it to no one.

We’ve had FAHW for almost 2 years with 0 claims. Our microwave started loosing power and not working. Alik Appliance came out and said it needed a new fan but then told FAHW it was installed wrong and they closed the claim. I called and spoke to Supervisor Gerardo Hernandez who sent out a new contractor Proper Appliance Repair and were told it needed a new control panel. Looked on our portal over a week later said waiting on part to come in then a week after that it said claim closed! Again I called in spoke to supervisor Stephanie at X6407 who said she would be calling the contractor because the new report didn’t make sense. I emailed her and while on the phone she emailed me back. I sent her a video of what is going on with our microwave and I have never heard back from anyone since! I’ve emailed 4 times with zero response. This company is definitely scammers! We’ve had American Home Shield for 10+ years prior to this with 2 claims and we’re never treated this way. I’m disgusted with this company! No one should give them their business and of course this morning my account is debited for my monthly payment and my microwave is still broken! Service Request #314337304 I HAVE sent in my proof of it not working! I emailed te-steflores@firstam a video with no response back. My last phone conversation with her was she would get back to me because the report did not make sense. How can each technician that came out say two different things to us then in the report claim nothing is wrong?? I’m happy to send you the video I took of it not working as it won’t allow me to post it here. Again, this company is a joke and a scam!

I’ve been with American First for over a year, and it has been a steady experience until recently. Unfortunately, I've encountered significant issues with their customer service that have left me very disappointed. I’m currently dealing with a malfunctioning appliance, and despite having already paid for the service, American First is unwilling to guarantee or address the work. To make matters worse, every time I’ve reached out for assistance, their customer service representatives have been discourteous. I've repeatedly requested to speak with a supervisor for follow-up, but no one has bothered to contact me. I genuinely regret choosing this company for my services and will definitely be looking into other providers moving forward.

Paid premiums for 8 years with very few claims. Had to have HVAC replaced after band aids servicing from First American Home Warranty contractors. Of course, First American did not reimburse us for any of the replacement..only for the diagnosis. Had to find our own HVAC contractor because the contractor that they contacted couldn’t schedule us because they didn’t have opening until 3weeks later. Please note that our HVAC went out during below freezing weather and First American never called us until we submitted a bill for replacement stating we didn’t have everything they needed. When we sent everything twice, they ignored us stating they will call back after they looked over all the paperwork. First American Home Warranty will take your money and will not pay any claims of value.
