United Kingdom | 23 March 2024Avoid if you have a rabbit. A very common problem with rabbits is gastric problems. Company would not honour £149 claim due to previously history of rabbit with Gastric problem

United Kingdom | 19 March 2024My dog required dental surgery. 4Paws were great, very efficient and helpful. Each time I phoned the representative were really lovely. I received my claim quickly without any problems. This is the first time I have claimed, would highly recommend them.

United Kingdom | 15 March 2024I think the process takes too long and then having 10% taken from me as my dog is 5 years old is ridiculous

United Kingdom | 15 March 2024Excellent service after having to make a claim. My vet sorted my claim out with 4Paws and was such a relief to have the support at a time when I needed most. My dog is still not well so treatment is continuing at the moment.

United Kingdom | 12 March 2024I had cause to claim for some minor surgery (c£2,000) to my dog's eye. The operation was routine and the vet considered the consultation and surgery as one claim. The initial consultation was 2-Nov-2023 with operation just a week after. From this point on 4Paws have done everything in their power NOT to pay this claim and to delay as long as possible. My emails asking for progress went largely unanswered. I honestly thought the office had shutdown for 8 weeks over the Christmas due to lack of comms. I then had countless emails about how they were ‘seeking more information’ and ‘referring to the underwriter’. Every email started with ‘apologies for the delay in responding’. Further complications were born around 4Paws treating the event as two claims - different (and changing) claims handlers all asking for the same information. I complained of course - 8 weeks passed and there were even fewer comms and of course no outcome whilst the claim was been investigated! This is now all with the ombudsman. The claim has been settled and paid today (12-Mar-2024) - 4 (FOUR) months after the event. Insurance is great until you want to claim of course. Avoid this company at all cost unless you want stress, hassle and the vet chasing you for money. Atrocious customer service all around.

United Kingdom | 08 March 2024Update on 12 March Unfortunate the only way to elicit a direct response from 4Paws is via the medium of Trust Pilot but as promised, they have been in touch. With a mail announcing they are unable to process the claim until I provide a date of birth and are closing the claim due to it's age. I am told this was an automated response. The claim is still open, and they are still waiting for IT to resolve the ticket and I am now also waiting for a mail to confirm the claim is still open. This is not the response I was hoping for, if I'm honest 8 March Not a great experience so far. After 5 weeks they are unable to assess my claim but have 'raised a ticket with IT'. Our vet advised us that our dog was a few years older than the age the rescue had given us at adoption. Before submitting a claim for treatment we advised 4paws on 1 Feb that the date of birth should be updated on the policy and apologised for a good faith inaccuracy. 5 weeks on we have received no updates from 4paws other than to confirm when we call that they cannot assess the claim until the policy is updated and have raised a ticket to IT. Lodging a complaint has not prompted any further response other than to confirm it may take 8 weeks to review. They have taken 2 further debits from my account in February and March, as premiums on the policy. For a dog they were told on 1 February had died.

United Kingdom | 06 March 2024Feel very let down by 4Paws pet insurance!!! As soon as we brought our new kitten home we took out insurance with 4Paws. Then at his first vets appointment to be neutered the vet found his adult teeth which where growing through at bottom where growing at wrong angle and piercing the bridge of his mouth so, vet recommended removing as the harm it will cause him. Our kitten is 5 months old and it was the first time he had gone to the vet as, when trying to book his vaccinations in November was informed by 3 separate vets there was a national shortage of cat vaccines and to ring back in February. 4Paws pet insurance refused to pay for the procedure due to him not been seen in last 12 months by a vet and teeth checked. Which I would have understood more if he was 12 months or older but, not when he's 5 months old at his first appointment and the problem has only occurred when his adult teeth hav just started coming through. I feel they have used a loop hole to paying out. Only went with 4Paws pet insurance due to the good reviews and should have stayed with my other cats insurance company. To reply to your answer , cats require a dental check every 12 months! The kitten is 5 months old!!! Basically any loop hole to get out of paying a claim. disgraceful
