Have used Free Spirit Travel Insurance. Find the medical questionnaire straight forward and they are the cheapest I have found each time I need travel insurance.

The website was relatively straightforward to use with information & questions clearly presented. The pages took me longer to complete than I was expecting, requiring considerable concentration. My premium was more than £200.00 cheaper than other providers...excellent value for money!

Like many reviewers I am only reviewing the service provided while organising the travel insurance, rather than the process of claiming. Free spirit are adept at handling unusual or rare medical situations and have a quite streamlined & simple process for those with long medical histories (especially when compared to other companies that I have tried). They are quick to answer the phone, polite and patient during the screening process, and transparent about costs and cover. I have organised travel insurance through them twice now, and will do so again. The pricing is reasonable and fair considering my medical problems. Looking through other reviews I am somewhat reassured that claiming should be simple should I need to do so, especially as their customer service so far has been so good. (Perhaps trustpilot should have a subcategory for reviews concerning actually making a claim with insurance companies, rather than just a way at looking at reviews that mention the word "claim")

Needed travel cover for 68 year old. Very efficient and friendly phone conversation with representative. Cover sufficient for what I need.

Absolutely terrible. Had to make a small amendment to the policy and they refused to cover me anymore. To add insult to injury also took 30%as cancellation fee. Went elsewhere. Wouldn’t have minded if they had just said they couldn’t cover me for the amendment to my health but no….

Straight forward process

This insurance company provides affordable cover when other companies would either not insurance or Quote unrealistic price. Quick same day quote, but no longer receive discount codes as a returning customer, if considering further travel.
