I was about to purchase cycle insurance online and saw they also offered golf insurance, I rang and was assisted by a helpful chap with both cycle and golf insurance.

Seemed pretty easy to set up a policy, but as with all Insurance policies you only know how good they are when you come to claim, if they decide to dodge the undertaking or use a loophole not to pay out then, its not worth the paper its written on. I think personally that all insurance companies should be made to indicate the number of claims that they refuse, as a metric to performance. Anyhow, it was easy to sign up, the bit about the locking of the bikes seems a bit daunting, you could spend money on really good locks (better than the ones they specify) and because they don't tick some box, then you need to buy more expensive inferior ones. It seems good lets see how it goes, and what happens at renewal time.

Cycle Plan seem like an excellent firm. I haven't given a five star review because we have only set up our cycle insurance and hoping never to need it. The set up was very easy and the information very clear.

Can’t believe people are rating 5 stars based on the simplicity that cycleplan takes their money. Their core business is paying out when your bike gets stolen and that’s what the rating should be based on. I’m worried as I took out their insurance a couple months ago and have now just received an email with a lot of things you MUST do in order for any claim to be upheld, most of what I already do anyway. However it gives them numerous possibilities to get out of paying. At the moment upgrading my home insurance to cover them for an extra £30 a year seems a better option. I will upgrade or downgrade my Cycleplan rating if ( hopefully not ) I have to make a claim. They’re certainly not getting 5 stars just for taking my money.
