United Kingdom | 08 July 2024Initially, I didn't know which universities I wanted to apply to, but the Zero Gravity Oxbridge seminars and talking to my Lse student mentor helped me realise I preferred London universities because of the culture and familiarity. My mentor has been great! She has recommended me law theory books with niche ideas which I integrated into my successful personal statement, and it helped me understand the basics of my future course better. Furthermore, she often made me plan LNAT essay questions spontaneously during our calls which was very useful during the exam when having to answer unpredictable essay questions. Overall, her recommendations gave me a lot of substance for the personal statement which LSE prioritises - I am thankful that she helped me tailor my application and strengths to London unis. The community channels have also been beneficial - I found work experience programmes through others' help, and have tried to give back to the members by offering answers. I’ve really enjoyed my experience with zero gravity and I plan to keep in contact with my mentor at university!

United Kingdom | 08 July 2024My mentor in Zero Gravity has been beneficial to me during our sessions. My mentor has reviewed my personal statement and helped me along the application process for medical school. I could not have gotten two interviews for medical positions at Russell Group universities without his assistance. He also assisted me in getting ready for my successful interviews for medical school! I had made use of my mentor and the community postings and discussions during my time in sixth form to be informed about what was coming up in my path and possibly beyond. They were also quite reassuring whilst I was waiting to hear back from my universities, anxiously. All things considered, I believe Zero Gravity is a fantastic resource for students going through similar initial experiences as myself—I'm so glad I've found a family!

United Kingdom | 08 July 2024I’m the first person in my family to go to university, and I didn’t consider Cambridge until meeting Amina. I never thought Cambridge would be for me, but after talking so much with her, I took the chance and applied for my dream course at the same college she was studying at. Amina gave me a mock interview and set one up with someone who studied my course at Jesus College, so I was able to be prepared for the types of questions they would give me. She also helped me with my personal statement, which was great because I was the only person in my school applying to Oxbridge so my teachers were not fully aware of the process. She has helped me grow in confidence when it comes to school, and has supported me so well!

United Kingdom | 08 July 2024Being born in Italy with Nigerian descent and growing up in the UK has exposed me to an array of cultures which has been an invaluable eye opener, and over the years, I’ve grown to love sports and simple pleasures like reading. Concerning my future career, Zero Gravity has been of immense help in my college experience and medicine application. Having access to a plethora of masterclasses as well as group chats, supported me mentally when I felt like I was alone and had no one to ask for help. The presence of Zero Gravity alone has been integral to my successful medicine application. My mentor, Sehreet, was there in the most crucial moments. When I needed support with my personal statement and even deciding which universities to apply to, she was and is always quick to guide me, and I can’t thank her enough.

United Kingdom | 08 July 2024Growing up as a second-generation immigrant in a working-class family without a strong reading culture, I found that Zero Gravity has acted as a bridge between the lack of academic role models in my personal life and my goal of studying English at St. Andrews University. My mentor, Nadia, has been incredibly supportive in my journey through retaking my A levels, offering exam advice and help with my writing in a dedicated and understanding manner. She has influenced my approach to writing; encouraging me to organise my thoughts and write concisely to ensure my passion translates onto the page. Additionally, Masterclasses such as Matt William’s super-curricular series have aided me in my engagement with literary texts- leading me to discover lectures and podcasts that have enriched my reading. Overall, Zero Gravity has been an incredible tool in fulfilling my potential, teaching me skills I can use in university and beyond.

United Kingdom | 08 July 2024My name is Ricardo, and I attended a medium-sized state school in West London. I plan to study Economics/Economics related courses in September and have received offers from Cambridge, UCL, Warwick and Bath. Initially, joining sixth form I did not aspire to join institutions like these but with further support from Zero Gravity I was confident to apply. Also, Zero Gravity allowed me to successfully apply to these top universities due to the constant 1-1 support and with the expertise of my mentor who had previously attended Cambridge for Economics. This combined with the consistent personal statement feedback proved to be so valuable and I really thank my mentor Nick so much for it. Not only that, he was a great person to talk to and he just really made me feel like I would fit in and thrive in an environment like that.

United Kingdom | 07 July 2024As I have immersed myself more in the field, I have developed a strong passion for the law. As a result, I have decided that I wish to study law at university and become a solicitor. I enjoy helping people which law entails. I have demonstrated this within my church where I help younger children in their sessions. I am also eager and determined to achieve and make a difference. Zero Gravity has been instrumental in making me believe that my dream is possible. It has helped me set the foundations for knowledge and experience I could gain. I love being part of a community, sharing and gaining knowledge with others on the platform. In particular, my mentor has been there every step of the way through giving me mock interviews and tips for university while supporting me during difficult times.

United Kingdom | 07 July 2024have found zero gravity to be a small yet constant and supportive part of my college life which I feel has helped me to prepare for university. My regular calls with my mentor have informed both about the major parts of university, as well as just the small things like pursuing ballet, as this is something we both enjoy.

United Kingdom | 06 July 2024I am very grateful for discovering Zero Gravity and had a positive experience overall. My mentor was very helpful in always answering my questions, and providing mock interviews. It was especially beneficial that my mentor attends my top-choice university, so I received personalised feedback before my interviews, and knew exactly what to work on, and I could ask questions about the course. My mentor also gave advice for A levels, which helped me to improve my revision techniques, as I had a set plant to follow, so I felt more confident this year for my exams.

United Kingdom | 06 July 2024I discovered this program in an outreach event where decided to sign up. Shonit was assigned as my mentor and has helped me immensely and has made my Zero Gravity experience so wonderful that I confidently recommend this program to all my friends. My tutor acted as both a prep coach and a friend as he both pointed me to the right resources and tried to calm my nerves whenever they got the best of me. Throughout many ENGAA past papers and mock interviews, we were able to get me to the level required for the offer, and I am so thankful for him. The platform has helped me to feel less isolated and connect with other students who also share my high aspirations (especially when I am lost with no answers to my questions) and has made me feel part of a truly wonderful community of amazing people.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024I am extremely ambitious in perusing a career in Dental Hygiene and Therapy, to which I have worked endlessly day in and day out to achieve. I have enjoyed my time with ZeroGravity, from their constant emails to keep me informed of any weekly updates, to having continuous calls with my mentor. My mentor helped me build my personal statement and become confident in my application.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024After GCSEs, I was unsure of what I wanted to pursue but I had some rough ideas of what I would like to delve into. This platform helped in solidifying my pursuit for Computer Science. I found multiple masterclasses which were helpful for the subjects I was studying, I helped others where I could by replying to comments and sharing files as well as receiving good advice from my peers and university students. After I requested a mentor, I thought it would be a while before I got one but luckily I was matched the day after! She’s incredibly helpful as she would give me advice whether it was about university as a whole, the course or even our specific A level subjects and coursework! Being able to talk to someone in a position I had hoped to be and from a similar background gave me more hope when applying!

United States | 05 July 2024Zero Gravity has been a life changing opportunity for me, growing up in deprivation ZG has allowed me to have an equal chance as I pursue my dreams to become a doctor. My mentor, a Cambridge Medic, has guided me through every aspect of the application process, being my beacon of support for these past 2 years, from gaining relevant work experience to perfecting my personal statement. Their insights on the UCAT exams have been extremely helpful, and one of the sole reasons I have achieved one of the highest scores in the entirety of the UK. The mock interviews sessions we practiced have not only help with my Uni application but have given me life lessons improving my communication skills and confidence, something I will carry with me forward my entire life. This mentorship programme has not only prepared me for the application process but has also given me a clearer vision of my future in medicine.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024I have a main drive in the field of mechatronics however, I widely enjoy language acquisition, humanities and performing arts. Having my Zero Gravity mentor, Lam, has helped me create a plan and schedules to stay grounded in my academic and career life whilst looking at how I may balance my additional desires. In addition, we had multiple conversations regarding Oxbridge whilst I was looking at applying. Unfortunately, due to my caring responsibilities, I was not able to focus enough on my studies, leaving me unable to achieve the predicted grades needed. On the brighter side, those hours of conversations have not gone in vain; shall I choose to reapply in the future, I have a lot of advice which is reusable. My advice was adapted to staying realistic whilst being ambitious as well as helping me with my Maths and Physics, verbally explaining concepts I was lacking on.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024I'm a budding computer scientist that initially enrolled with Zero Gravity to support my Cambridge application. My mentor was really friendly and engaging throughout the process and helped to boost my self-confidence and addressed many of my anxieties. While this was not successful, I am still very excited to potentially complete a CS degree with a year in industry at Bath. I am autistic and experience high levels of anxiety, which has limited my ability to engage with education in the past, so I was slightly worried about how I would be received by my mentor when I first joined the platform. However, my concerns were completely unfounded as my mentor was incredibly understanding and welcoming from the beginning. The overall experience has been incredibly positive and has encouraged me to tackle further challenges.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024My experience with Zero Gravity has been incredibly enriching. I had the privilege of being mentored by an Oxford history student who provided invaluable guidance on my personal statement, which I believe carried my application and is the main reason behind my 5/5 offers. Her expertise and insights not only helped me refine my writing but also boosted my confidence in presenting my academic ambitions. She helped me mould my personal statement around my interests and create a personal statement that was unique. I am grateful for the clarity and focus that Zero Gravity and my mentor specifically have brought to my university preparation process.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024Hello! I'm Lily and I'm a student interested in history and politics with the intention to work in either international relations or law. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and journaling. I learnt about Zero Gravity through social media and immediately applied. It has been the most impactful decision I have made to aid my university application. My mentor Fatima's advice has been integral to my progress, particularly in helping me to understand what makes a compelling personal statement and how to navigate the interview process. Through our calls, I have developed better articulation around my subject areas and a coherent comprehension of university life from module content to social activities. I would love to become a mentor in the future and provide a similar level of support to an applicant.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024As an autistic girl I was so unsure about even applying to uni. I didn’t believe in myself or my abilities, and was worried I wouldn’t be able to cope with the process on my own. However, my mentor really helped me to flourish and allowed me to play to my strengths both when writing my personal statement and doing interview prep. Thanks to the platform I am so much more confident in my own skills and abilities and am now going to follow my passion of History at Oxford in October:) it was so lovely to have someone to turn to during this process, both my mentor and the forums. I felt so supported which was my biggest worry with the application. It’s a lovely community and I truly believe signing up changed my life for the better.
